Chapter 782

Mada stood his ground while staring at the charging beast that looked ready to decimate him in two if given the chance.

It hooves pounding on the ground with steady rhythm like that of a beating drum.

Within a second, it appeared before Mada. So fast that even the spectators were unable to track its movements.

Its claw lashed out with incredible speed to the extent that it looked like the air was splitting apart for a moment.

Yet, Mada didn’t even make any attempt to move one bit as he stared at the approaching claw without any hint of anxiousness.

The crowd leaned in with panic as they stared at the kid who didn’t even dare to move.

— Is-Is he afraid? Why isn’t he moving?

The moment the question was asked though, Mada evaded the claw skillfully.

Infact, some just blinked their eyelids and the next second, the teen slipped past the claw like it was nothing while strategically placing himself behind the beast.

Quickly reversing its hand behind it, the beast’s elbow rocketed towards the descendant’s face at tremendous speed.

However, before it could connect,

Swooosh—!

A whip suddenly snaked through the air wrapping around the beast’s claw and holding it in place for a second.

At the end of the whip, Noelle could be seen. Her face was contorted in a painful grimace as she held on the whip with all her might.

Pulling forward while dragging her feet backwards but unfortunately, she was only able to hold the beast back for about five seconds.

And that was actually more than enough for Liam to slip forward.

His heart thudding with each step he took. His instincts screaming at him to step back. Abandon the fight.

To not even attempt to strike the beast at all but he steeled himself.

Gulping loudly to steady himself as a bead of sweat trickled down his face.

With a sharp exhale, his sword arced through the air at a decent pace towards the beast’s head.

With a powerful leap backwards, the sword only hit the air with a dull ring.

The moment its hooves touched the ground, Mada was already behind it.

His sword swung from below in a perfect downward slash that birthed an invisible ki slash at the end.

Sensing the energy, the beast spun around with its claws crossed in front of it for protection.

Still, when the slash struck; although unable to pierce through, it still pushed the beast backwards a few inches.

The moment the beast was pushed away from Mada, Finral and Ray bolted towards it from different sides flanking it instantly.

Finral’s sword hissed through the air while Ray’s gauntlet hand shot towards it with Ki coating both their weapons and ready to crash into it.

Unfortunately for them, before their attack could connect, the beast vaulted into the air with tremendous force that a gust of wind blasted out.

"Noelle!" Mada shouted as he glared into the air to see the beast hovering there for a moment.

Promptly, the female descendant swung her whip into the air a few times.

Nothing was heard, no energy was emitted yet a dozen precise cuts appeared around the beast’s body going just an inch deep.

But nonetheless, drawing blood from the Divine ranked monster which landed back on the ground with a loud roar of both pain and fury.

Skid—!

A figure slid on his knees before the beast who was taken by surprise.

Weaving in between the beast’s legs, his sword struck its ankles at precise points and only going a few inches deep before he was forced to spring back to his full height.

And that was because the beast already spun around in a second with a high kick aimed at his face.

Liam quickly brought his sword in front of him pouring all his Ki in both his hands and the sword to strengthen them properly for when the kick struck.

Unfortunately, he didn’t calculate for the force of the kick which sent him flying through the air at blazing speed.

Before the beast’s leg could touch the ground, more precise cuts that were as sharp as a sword appeared around the beast’s leg drawing droplets of blood that weren’t even enough to stop it.

The announcer quickly grabbed onto the transmission crystal and commented.

"Looks like the Aetherian academy are struggling a lot. Can they make it?"

The moment he finished his words, a scowl appeared on Mada’s face.

"What are you bozos doing? Let’s show this damned beast our might. Come on, all toge—" his words trailed off as the beast materialized before him in a flash.

Claws slashing towards his face at astonishing speed.

Ki instantly powered around Mada’s body allowing him to quickly bend down in a flash dodging the claw by the skin of his teeth.

Hot air rushed past his head rustling his hair.

Bang—! Bang—!

Two consecutive bangs were heard and in a moment, Ray along with Finral hovered above the beast.

Finral quickly swung his sword down with all his might.

An invisible ki slash burst out with full speed.

But the beast was quick enough to pivot around dodging the slash which shattered into the ground throwing a small mound of dust into the air.

Before the beast could reposition itself again, Ray spun around and punched the air with all his might sending with it a powerful invisible ki fist that struck the beast squarely on its face.

It was about to move forward when Noelle crossed the distance of two metres and appeared before it.

Pushing off the ground, she let off a consecutive double kick that kept smashing into the beast’s face causing it to slide back.

It was clear as day; these students weren’t giving it time to recuperate.

Because the next moment, Ray was already in front of the beast too.

His fists raced forward in a flurry of strikes that kept putting the beast on its toes.

Unfortunately, none of the attacks could even land.

Ray didn’t need it to; he just needed to buy enough time for somebody to do something.

With a tilt of his head, the beast avoided another punch from Ray and quickly launched a swift claw strike towards his face at blazing speed.

Only for the next second, Mada appeared forward pulling Ray behind him as an oppressive energy spread around him suddenly causing the ground to began shuddering.

In one fluid motion, Mada finally pulled his sword from its scabbard and ki gripped it tightly like a cloak of some sorts.

Visible Ki that quickly looked like... water?

With a powerful upward swing, the beast in front of him instantly lost its arm which dropped to the ground with a wet thud.

Before it could even blink, Mada moved swiftly. Appearing behind the beast as he swung the sword which was covered with visible Ki that looked like a wave of water.

In a moment, its head was disconnected from the rest of its body before it landed to the ground with a loud thud.

There was a deep silence over the whole coliseum as everybody stared at the scene that had just taken place.

And yet, another surprise was about to take them like a storm as Mada lifted his head up and stared directly at the north booth.
