Chapter 786

Thud—! Thud—! Thud—!

Mada’s body could be seen skipping across the ground for a few seconds before he angrily dug his ki-enhanced fingers into the earth, clawing his body into a grinding halt.

Yet, the beast gave him no time for respite as, within a flash, it appeared before him with one hoof raised above its head, ready to deliver a crushing heel kick toward the descendant’s skull.

Feeling the violent distortion of the air, Mada charged his hands with Ki and sprang off to the side just at the right moment, therefore evading the kick by a narrow margin.

Bang—! Booom—!

The ground shattered in a rain of dust and debris as a small crater about three metres wide and deep appeared in an instant.

Without wasting any motion, Mada sprang to his feet and punched the air with all his might twice, sending two invisible ki fists shooting toward the beast at break-neck speed.

’I could use visible Ki since it’s more powerful than invisible ki. The problem is that,’ he thought as he watched the beast dodge each of the attacks as if they were nothing, allowing them to crash into the ground with a low bang.

Sprinting forward, he left the beast behind while locking his eyes onto his sword.

’... Visible Ki consumes a lot of energy and takes an imaginative person to work with it.’

The beast was now just a few inches away from the running Mada and wasted no time swinging its claws toward his back.

But the human’s perception was quite sharp as he charged his legs with Ki and exploded to the side abruptly, narrowly dodging the slash.

In one fluid motion, Mada swung his leg in a roundhouse kick, therefore unleashing a swift visible Ki slash that sped toward the beast at insane velocity.

Spinning around, the goat beast crossed its hands in front of it in an attempt to block the incoming strike.

At that exact moment, instead of following up with another assault, Mada sprang away and swiftly rolled across the ground, his fingers curling firmly around the hilt of his sword.

Meanwhile, the visible Ki slash struck the beast through its forearm, tearing a deep, wide gash across it as blood splattered into the air like paint flung onto a canvas.

The wounds on its forearms were gruesome, deep enough to almost tear the beast’s limbs apart.

The crowd of spectators gasped at this sudden display of power.

The moment he grabbed his sword, the beast regained its composure, only for the descendant to compress Ki around the soles of his feet and, with an explosive burst, bolt straight toward it.

Within the blink of an eye, the descendant crossed the five-metre distance in a jiffy and instantly, visible Ki curled around his sword, gripping it in a storm of flowing, visual water.

Visible Ki— the third stage of Ki which stage five and above warriors were proficient in.

If a warrior belonged to a clan, after reaching stage five; as long as they were trusted enough, they could learn the clan’s Ki technique.

In the case of the Waterfall Clan, after reaching stage five and mastering the third stage of Ki which manifested as visible Ki, their energy warped into the form of flowing water around whatever they used as weapons.

In Mada’s case, it was his sword. But he didn’t stop there.

’More. I need more power! MORE!’ he roared inwardly as his Ki responded violently, encasing itself around his hands as well.

"Gah...."

Blood sprayed from his mouth, but he didn’t care as he hauled his sword through the air with all his might.

It took the beast off guard as the sharp steel, further sharpened by visible Ki, struck directly into the gash that tore through its arm, easily eviscerating it from its body.

The momentum of the sword swing carried on until the blade tore through the beast’s neck, meeting a bit of resistance.

But with more pressure applied and his teeth grinding hard while restraining the urge to cough up blood, the image of a wheel of yellow water appeared and soon enough—

TCHAKKK—!

The sword cut through in an instant, causing the head to slide off and collide with the ground, followed shortly by the body in a wet thud.

Mada followed along as well, and with one powerful cough, blood sprayed from his mouth like a burst of water spray, his body finally hitting the ground as he breathed heavily in rough, uneven pants.

’Haa... I did it. Killed two Divine ranked beasts. Brother, I hope you are proud of me.’

He huffed inwardly while casting a weak glance toward the east booth.

****

Inside the East Booth, surprise expressions flickered across the faces of the leaders of the Aetherian faction as they witnessed how Mada stood his ground against a Divine ranked beast.

"Hang on. Have Divine ranked beasts lost their credibility all of a sudden? How did Mada defeat one... twice?" Rowen uttered with a frown etched across his face as he stared at the battlefield below.

Which was now focused on Noelle, the trio of boys, and the last remaining Divine ranked beast.

"Honestly, I never expected Mada to grow this fast. It’s like... like something is pushing him. I wonder what." Selene added with an impressed expression resting on her features.

Orion, on the other hand, simply furrowed his brows at the scene displayed in front of him while listening to the commentary from the others.

’All these years, I have never seen him push himself that hard. Why today of all days? How did he even evolve into a stage five warrior in such a short time? Something doesn’t add up here.’

Meanwhile, Gunther just smiled softly. In fact, the smile was somewhat... imperceptible as he stared at his brother’s body hitting the ground with a heavy thud.

’I’m proud of you, brother. I always have been. Today; you’ve shown your resolve even more clearly, and I promise, we will make this coup a success. These damn leaders have to go.’
