Chapter 791: Let’s Finish This

Chapter 791

’Shoot. Who asked me to get cocky? Damn it all!’

*****

A while ago, Rivock had just smashed one of the remaining nine beasts into the ground, billowing a huge cloud of dust into the air while causing a ten metres deep and wide crater to form in an instant.

The crowd edged forward immediately as gasps of astonishment rang out.

Wooosh—!

Rivock burst through the cloud of dust—moving backwards before landing two metres away from the settling haze.

Soon enough, it cleared, and everybody could see that the beast which had been smashed into the ground had its head shattered like a popped balloon.

Its skull was splintered; the innards of its brain spilled out with black ichor pooling beneath its lifeless body. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

However, the other eight beasts didn’t care about this outcome.

Their speed doubled in something akin to fury at the gruesome death of their kin.

They surged forward at rapid velocity and, in the twinkle of an eye, reappeared all around Rivock.

Even with that, the direct descendant was still grinning as though it was just another Tuesday for him.

Claws streaked through the air toward his face at full speed.

His thighs tightened, and he was about to explode into the air when two of the beasts noticed this and quickly switched their approach.

Instead of slashing, their hooves shot forward, smashing into his abdomen with crushing force and causing him to stagger backwards in throbbing pain.

But he wasn’t even given enough time to register the pain when Ki flooded his hands, which he crossed around his body just in time.

Clang—!

The beasts’ claws struck hard, yet only caused surface-level scratches due to the dense Ki coating his arms.

Pushing his limbs outward, he sent the attackers tumbling away when the two beasts from earlier reappeared in front of him with another round of hooved kicks.

In one fluid motion, Rivock spun sharply, slipping behind the incoming kicks.

Ki visibly wrapped around his fists like a second skin as he thrust them forward toward the beasts.

Before the punches could connect, two more beasts leaped into the air and delivered powerful kicks to his limbs, forcefully altering the trajectory of his strike.

A deep chasm split open beneath his feet from the sheer impact.

Then, the beasts he had been targeting twisted swiftly, their claws lashing out at incredible speed.

CLANG—!

The claws slammed into his abdomen but were unable to pierce through at all.

Rivock simply grinned at the beasts, tilting his head to the side menacingly.

"You know?" he uttered with a slight frown as he grabbed the claws in front of him, maintaining a solid grip.

The beasts began struggling to pull their limbs free, but no matter how hard they tried, nothing seemed to work.

Left with no other option, they resorted to swinging their horns toward the human, hoping to pierce through him.

"... I could actually end this fight in one fell swoop, but then, it wouldn’t have been fun,"

he added with a wide grin as he pressed his feet into the ground, digging so deep that cracks spread beneath him until the earth itself split apart.

His arms began bulging as his eyes darted around, observing the other beasts closing in rapidly.

Twisting his heels sharply, he grunted as he lifted the beasts in front of him by their claws and hurled them away, sending them flying like broken dolls.

Leaping aside, he narrowly avoided several more attacks from the remaining beasts.

But the moment his feet touched the ground, another Divine ranked beast was already waiting—and it didn’t hesitate to punch its claws toward his face.

Rivock raised his hand to guard, absorbing the impact without moving an inch.

He was about to retaliate when he suddenly sensed something wrong in the air.

Tilting his head hurriedly to the side, he caught sight of a beast aiming a kick directly at his head.

With the sudden tilt, the hoove missed and swept past his face—only for the beast to kick the air with all its might.

It spun around and hammered a direct axe kick onto Rivock’s head.

Faster than he could react.

And that was because he didn’t expect the sudden turn of events.

Although it didn’t cause any injury to him, the kick was still strong enough to disorient him for a brief moment as he staggered backwards with a dull, throbbing pain ringing through his head.

That slight disorientation was exactly what the beasts needed as they rushed him at once, swiftly enclosing him from every corner.

Without waiting for the human to fully regain his senses, they darted at him simultaneously.

And then,

Bang—! Bang—! Boom—! Bam—! Wam—! Clang—!

Those were the violent sounds echoing across the arena as the spectators could barely see anything anymore.

The beasts had turned into blurs—moving with stunning agility and striking Rivock from every angle all at once, not even giving him a chance to properly recuperate.

Even the two beasts he had sent hurling earlier came right back to join the fray without hesitation.

Nobody could see the human anymore, buried within the midst of eight Divine ranked beasts and supposedly receiving continuous damage.

Since none of the beasts appeared to be getting hurt, everybody naturally assumed that Rivock was currently getting his ass beat as the relentless barrage of strikes continued.

Those seated in the east booth were now visibly tense as they leaned forward.

"Is—Is Rivock going to be okay?" Mada couldn’t help but ask as he watched the beasts swarm Rivock completely.

"Is that how little you trust his strength?" Thalos replied without any change in expression, his gaze still fixed firmly ahead.

"Just watch."

Back in the arena, contrary to what everyone believed, Rivock was still fighting back.

He was countering every strike thrown at him.

Although he was getting injured despite the Ki coating his body, he was still managing to avoid anything truly debilitating or fatal.

’Shoot. Who even asked me to get cocky? Damn it all!’

His brows furrowed in irritation as his eyes scanned the beasts rapidly, searching for even a single opening he could exploit.

Several seconds passed as he continued dodging, blocking, and striking amidst the chaos—

And then, the opening finally presented itself.

A wide smile slowly spread across his face.

’Finally. Let’s finish this before I get too tired.’
