Magus Supremacy-Chapter 797
Chapter 797
The gritty battle between the Umbrafell academy and the five waves of beasts had just ended with Mina barely standing tall.
The coliseum erupted in cheers and applause majorly from the citizens of the faction.
Whistling was loudly heard as they all began chanting the faction’s anthem and at the same time, weaving Mina’s name into it.
It was clear that the citizens were more than happy with her performance.
The ground shook with their excitement. Something that hadn’t even happened when Rivock took care of ten beasts all on his own.
It was more than obvious that the love is massive.
The announcer tapped the glowing crystal in front of him and cleared his throat before speaking,
"This is more than wonderful! The Umbrafell academy managed to actually clear all five waves?! This is a shocking surprise."
The man paused for a brief second before adding:
"But if we think about it, it’s not that much of a surprise after all, our faction has held the title for the strongest for three years now with our very own Beatrix securing the win for us the previous year. And now; her student— Mina will do the same thing. Who’s with me?!"
— YEAH!!!
More cheers were heard at the announcer’s words. Excitement pulsed throughout the coliseum.
As the cheers were dying down, the North booth opened up and men quickly filtered out to grab the unconscious students off the ground while helping Mina away so they could all get treated.
As she was walking off, cheers exploded out again and she calmly wave to the crowd before walking off.
"And now, it’s the Noxarian academy’s turn to come and attempt their remaining four waves."
Applause were heard as the west booth opened up and from it Zach stepped out with his five teammates.
It was an understatement to say that they weren’t nervous at this point.
And that was because a huge pressure was mounted on them.
With the Aetherian academy and Umbrafell academy putting on a marvelous show, it was now up to them to show that they weren’t lesser compared to them.
Which was actually hard because in truth, they were lesser.
Zach was currently the only stage five warrior among the group so how were they supposed to meet up to the quota?
Unfortunately, they were the current best students Noxarian could produce this year.
"Ready?" The announcer asked. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
The students huffed for a bit before Zach replied,
"Sure."
And with that, a portal opened up with two beasts coming out of it.
Instantly, the battle began.
While the Noxarian academy students were currently fighting for their lives, the crowd were yelping and constantly cursing under their breaths.
With the same complaints spreading amongst them.
— Something keeps whoosing past here and I keep getting pricked.
— I don’t see anything here, what are you saying... ouch! Now I see what you are talking about.
Same reviews were heard all around. Nobody was spared in the spectating stands as one by one, they were getting pricked which would reflexively make them lift their legs for a few seconds in complain before dropping it back down.
Grey had a bored expression on his face as he relaxed his chin on his knuckles while watching the Noxarian academy struggle to hold back the two beasts that were pushing them back.
Only Zach and the sword user from earlier were putting on quite the match.
’They will lose this tournament. In a battle; diversity is well appreciated. You can’t go in to war with everybody using the same weapon. That’s the fastest way to die as your enemy could easily adapt to whatever you throw at them.’ He mused inwardly as he watch Zach and the sword user finally take down one beast.
Before rushing over to help the others in taking down the second beast.
’... That’s the mistake they did here. Each of them equipped with gauntlets except the sword user. Foolish brutes.’
Within ten minutes of a grim battle, the Noxarian academy managed to take down their second wave.
Without wasting time, the third wave was thrown at them with three beasts stepping out of the portal.
’Let’s see how much longer they will last.’ Grey mused as he began rubbing his free finger on his lap, tracing some weird shapes on his lap— unconsciously.
Alba on the other hand was bored out of her mind as she groaned inwardly.
’Why did I have to sit separately away from Grey? This tournament isn’t as exciting as I expected. Actually, it was when the other academies had their go. Now, it just feels like a beat down show.’
And she was right.
The beasts were currently tossing the students around like some ragdolls.
Blood splattered in the air. With the crowd unsure who or what even owned it.
This continued for a few more minutes with the students getting weaker and weaker but Zach persisted.
He wasn’t as overly dominating like Rivock. Nor was he as fluid as Mina.
But he still tried his best. Overwhelming the beasts with Ki attacks and powerful punches.
With the sword user keeping the beasts at bay with some invisible ki slashes, Zach was trying his hardest and after a few more minutes; two beasts out of three fell down.
The remaining one actually managed to wreck the team with three of his teammates being beaten unconscious before he actually managed to take the beast down.
And right now, he was on his knees breathing heavily. He wheezed at intervals as his head pounded with a kind of headache that would make one lose consciousness.
Third wave down as they cast a glance at their leaderboard to see them below the other academies.
’My body is battered and so are the others. Two are unconscious leaving me with just three minus me... how will I do this? I can’t forfeit nor take a break.’ Zach grimly thought as he stiffly turned his neck to face the west booth.
But as if unconsciously, a certain kind of aura hit him causing the boy to break out in cold sweat.
"Do you all wish to still continue onto the next wave?" The announcer asked.
Taking in deep breaths,Zach finally rose up.
He was currently gritting his teeth while staring at the other three injured but still conscious students that were already on their feet too.
"Yes. Bring the next wave on."
