Magus Supremacy-Chapter 798: A Gritty Victory

Chapter 798

The crowd weren’t actually shocked by Zach’s answer.

They had seen enough of the same determination across the other academies and weren’t too surprised.

But what they did feel was quiet acknowledgement towards the warrior before them.

Even though he was two men short, he still was prepared to push forward. Ready to take on more waves.

Though reckless, it was still admirable and now; they wanted to see how this warrior will take on the fourth wave.

Will it kill them? Or will they survive?

And their question would soon be answered as the portal opened up with four beasts stepping out.

Zach tensed up for a moment. He drew in a sharp hoarse breath before casting a look at his remaining three teammates.

Giving them a nod, they all simultaneously moved their tongues around their mouths.

Gulping loudly, they readied themselves.

The beasts pounced towards them and in an instant, the students all exploded forward fiercely.

Their speed increased massively for some reason.

They moved faster than they had been catching the beasts off guard as a fierce battle commenced.

Ki attacks crashed into the ranks of the beasts as they moved almost like a phantom.

Slashing, kicking and punching with all their might.

It was as if the exhaustion from earlier was no longer there again. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

The energy which was depleted battling beasts seemed replenished somewhat.

To the crowd, it seemed like they hadn’t even lost any energy during the previous waves.

Their punches hardened, attacks landed with more power and vigour.

Previously, they were avoiding the beasts’ attacks barely. But now, there was quite the little gap.

Grey’s brows furrowed as he observed their movements. Somewhat clumsily coordinating attacks to fall one of the four beasts.

Then moving to the remaining three.

’Huh? I’m sure that the orange tiger is a stage five warrior while his teammates are stage four warriors so why are they suddenly exhibiting speed beyond their warrior stages?

Zach is moving as fast as a stage six warrior for some reason while his teammates are moving like stag.... Oh!’

Realization finally dawned on Grey mid thought causing him to chuckle silently.

’My pills. Of course... they will have my pills after all, I made them in that faction. Which means they were equipped with my pills so that means... they have about three minutes left for their Dantian to be totally empty and their speed will run out in...’

He narrowed his eyes as he spotted the students suddenly slowing down drastically causing Grey to grin.

’... Now.’

It was like ripping off the carpet off a person’s feet as in an instant, the students slowed down greatly after taking down the second beast.

Panting incredibly hard, they stared as the remaining beasts were now upon them.

Still, they didn’t give up as they narrowly avoided slashes and attacks that would normally kill them.

A slash from above was streaking towards Zach. But with all his might, he vaulted off to the side only to be caught by a second claw ripping through his leg and sending blood spraying in the air.

He tumbled on the ground— bleeding.

But he wasn’t ready to give up yet as he coated his injured leg with ki giving him more support as he pushed off from the ground with all his strength.

The sudden force of the push launched him into the air as he weaved past a claw and landed on the beast’s face.

Ki swirled around his hands especially his gauntlets to the extent, they were slightly vibrating.

Them with all the strength he could summon from the depths of his body, he drove the gauntlets into the beast’s eyes dragging them out of their sockets.

This caused the beast to begin thrashing around.

Unfortunately for it, Zach wasn’t done yet as his gauntlets kept pushing in till it crashed into its skull.

He kept pounding and pounding until the skull gave in and shattered under his punches.

But all these while, he didn’t go unscathed as the beast’s claws had been digging into his back tearing it open with blood flying out.

The beast fell backwards and Zach with it as he was completely spent.

Same with the others who had just finished dealing with the last beast.

The finishing blow was dealt by the sword user who sacrificed his safety for the blow.

After countless coordination with the two others, an opening appeared but it didn’t come without risks though.

The moment he avoided a claw, he poured all his ki into his sword and then slashed from below at tremendous speed.

At the same time, a second claw approached him from the side.

The moment his heavily ki infused sword slammed into its neck, it met a bit of resistance before slicing through.

Simultaneously, the claw from the beast slammed into his side— tearing a hole through it with blood gushing out in waves.

But unfortunately, the beast couldn’t dig deeper as it lost all life and collapsed to the ground followed by the sword user.

Cheers erupted from the crowd at the gritty performance the Noxarian academy students had just put up.

It was crazily desperate yet they actually pulled it off without any deathly casualties.

Applause resounded loudly in the coliseum as consciousness slowly faded from Zach’s eyes due to extreme blood loss.

’Fuck. I failed. I couldn’t get strong enough to take on the last wave. I’m-I’m- I’m dead. He-He will kill me when... when I get back.’ His thoughts slurred as darkness washed over him claiming him immediately.

Help rushed out and the students were taken back to their booths to be treated while the continuous applauds slowly calmed back down.

Grey on the other hand was actually nodding his head as he stared at the disappearing bodies of the beasts.

’They actually tried. They surpassed my expectations even though they used my pills.’

The announcer cleared his throat pulling Grey from his thoughts.

"Ahem... let’s go on a short twenty minutes break and afterwards, we will talk about the second segment of this tournament which happens to be the last.

Aight. See you all in twenty. My bladder’s about to burst."
