Chapter 860

BAM—!

BOOOM—!

If the ground thought it couldn’t get more destroyed, then it was wrong as with Grey’s mountain breaker, it shattered to the atomic level.

The Supreme Magus wasn’t playing at all. He brought the heat and he delivered.

The giant pillar curving downwards and smashing into Orion’s head with tremendous force that even aided the ground in splintering the more.

There was a wide crater when the mage had called down the lightning pillar from the skies but now, a triple crater formed with "mountain breaker"

A massive blast of wind surged outward forcing those watching to shield their eyes lest dust gets in.

Grey remained rooted in his position as the dust caused his robes to flutter violently. His crimson hair whipped around for a few seconds while his brown eyes remained fixed into the cloud of dust.

Before the cloud had the time to actually settle, a massive obsidian tidal wave split it apart shooting towards the Supreme Magus who remained unfazed.

"Spatial magic: Folding."

The short distance between Grey and the tidal wave suddenly increased tremendously that the attack seemed to have missed and instead burrowed into the ground blasting it open.

Orion could be seen stepping forward with his obsidian void like eyes gleaming dangerously.

The "mountain breaker’ actually seemed to cause some damage as his scales were now cracked in some places.

But no blood seeped out... yet.

The spikes on his shoulders had already cracked and fell off.

Even with all these, he looked to be in a perfect condition as his eyes locked onto Grey.

"Oh. Guess that skill can do more than to shrink the distance between targets. Wonderful." Orion commented with a genuine amazed tone.

Grey didn’t give a reply whatsoever.

"Earth magic: Sink."

That was the reply the mage deemed befitting enough to give the man as his hands were placed firmly on the ground.

Almost immediately, for half a kilometres, the ground turned into quick sand sinking any and anybody that was unfortunate to be caught into it.

Including Orion who stared around him with a neutral expression on his face.

"Hm."

Grey’s earth range couldn’t reach this distance before but due to the amplification from breaking through, it was able to do this.

Orion was sinking into the ground for a few moments before he shook his head in something akin to... pity?

Then,

An obsidian portal appeared directly behind him swallowing the hybrid into its depths allowing him to evade the quick sand trap.

Appearing at the half destroyed stands, Grey rose up allowing the ground to harden back.

And in the process, erased the craters and destruction they had caused for half a kilometer.

Orion remained standing where he was for a second or so before he suddenly exploded forward with fluid grace.

He was so close to appearing before the mage when Thalos descended in his path with his greatsword smashing into the hybrid’s abdomen.

For a stone-looking sword, the greatsword sure held up for so long that even a single crack couldn’t be seen on it.

It was almost like Grey’s Clara... could be that it was indestructible.

The swing of his sword like a baseball bat was enough to stop the charging Orion for the splittest of seconds.

But the next second, the hybrid’s tail shot forward from behind aiming to smash into the gargoyle.

With uncanny speed, Thalos immediately leaped backward in time.

Orion wasn’t done yet as he charged towards him again.

Claws swung like swords forcing the gargoyle into a dangerous defence.

Swatting the tail to the side, he bent down under a swing of the claw only for his face to be hammered hard by the hybrid’s knee forcing the gargoyle to stagger backward in a slight daze.

BANG—!

Orion launched forward with deadly speed forcing Thalos to immediately regain his footing and raise his sword for a block.

Grey seeing the hybrid’s claws shooting towards his ally, quickly opened a portal.

"BROOK! TOSS IT!" He shouted startling the stalwart of the Crimson Lotus Clan.

An ashen portal was in his face.

’Toss it? Toss wh—?’

His gaze drifted towards the shield in his hand. Without hesitation, he tossed the weapon into the portal which snapped shut.

"Thalos! Your feet!" Grey shouted as a small portal appeared beside the gargoyle’s feet and from it, the shield materialized.

Kicking the hem of the tower shield, it spun into the air with Thalos catching it in time as he brought it in front of his face in the nick of time.

CLANG—!

Orion’s claws struck the surface of the shield with his entire force. Thinking it would crumble, surprisingly, the weapon held.

And instead, a bright candesce appeared on its surface followed by a sonic blast that sent Orion’s whole form flying through the air like a ragdoll.

Thalos was pushed back from the recoil.

He dropped to his knees panting incredibly hard. Even Grey had his hands on his knees.

Sweat beginning to form on his temples. He could feel his time limit rapidly approaching.

He knew it, he would collapse at any moment from now.

Orion could now be seen rising from where he had been blasted by a force twice of his initial strike.

Blood dribbled down his fangs in steady streams as he sauntered over staring at the exhausted mage and gargoyle on their knees.

"Awww... tired so soon? I was just getting warmed up by you both and you want to collapse? Tsk."

Grey smiled like a madman as he pushed himself to his full height.

"Tired? I’m not tired. Thalos, are you?"

The gargoyle grinned as he also rose to his full height. Sword pommelling the shield in his hand as he shifted into a stance.

"Never!"

Grey nodded with a satisfied sigh. He was about to move forward when he paused. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

"Right," he snapped his fingers in realization. "Let me quickly invite one more member here."

Thalos lifted an eyebrow in confusion at the mage’s words only to see him swinging his hand in the air forming a visible ashen "X"

The X widened into a portal which remained active for several seconds.

Orion stared at it wondering what the mage was planning on but for some reason, nothing was happening.

That was when he felt something in the air.

Then,

SCREEEEEEECH—!

An ear piercing scream tore through the coliseum forcing every single soul to cover their ears in pain.

Because bursting out of the ashen portal was a creature.

The creature was quite huge, its wings vast and radiant, each feather forged from crackling arcs of pure electricity.

Sparks danced across its body with every beat of its wings, leaving trails of luminous lightning in its wake that split the heavens with thunderous roars.

Its eyes glowed a searing white-blue, blinding to look at, and its talons shimmered with condensed lightning, capable of reducing anything they touched to ash in a flash.

Instead of flames, its body pulsed with storm energy, its plumage shimmering like a sky lit with endless bolts.

When it cried out, the sound wasn’t a song of fire but a deafening thunderclap that shook the very earth.

Orion’s eyes widened in surprise at what he was seeing.

"A Lightning Phoenix?"

Grey just smiled staring at the creature hovering in the air.

"Hello, Kira."
