Magus Supremacy-Chapter 863: Failed Teamwork
Chapter 863
Collapsing to his knees, Grey coughed out a mouthful of blood as the bright white glow in his eyes were flickering in and out.
The storm clouds in the sky was slowly receding as he peered into the mound of dust Kira had kicked up a distance away.
A powerful wave of corrupted ki blasted in all directions dispelling the dust to reveal Orion standing to his full height.
Black blood streamed down from his shoulders down to his scales further adding to the blackness.
A furious look was on his face as he twisted and turned, searching for the phoenix that dealt this kind of damage to him but Kira was nowhere to be seen.
No doubt blitzing all around to make tracking her difficult.
Pain was eating at the Supreme Magus but gritting his teeth, he pushed himself to stand up. His body groaning in protest but he refused to stand down.
Glaring in Orion’s direction, his eyes shone brighter once more and from the skies, a lightning bolt screamed down smashing into the mage violently.
’I learnt this trick from Fenrir.’
A bright glow appeared all around the mage and soon enough, the same lightning bolt fired back into the skies leaving the position Grey had stood on with a blackened earth.
Thalos didn’t know what Grey was doing, but he still needed to fight regardless as he blasted forward with all the speed he could muster.
He appeared before Orion with a diagonal swing of his greatsword.
Orion cast a quick look at the gargoyle with a furious glare.
His claws smashed into the greatsword pushing Thalos’ hand to the side before his foot burst forth ready to smash the gargoyle in his abdomen.
Barely bringing the tower shield in front of him, the kick landed on the surface and a thunderous ringing sound blarred across the coliseum.
A bright light encapsulated the shield.
Orion stared at it with a scowl on his face.
He was ready to dodge it when he heard crackling sounds behind him.
Kira was already now directly behind him with more than a hundred lightning beams surrounding her ready to blast into the Orion.
With a loud screeching sound, the orbs of lightning blasted forward while the shield in Thalos’ hand was ready to fire out its own beam.
Orion was stumped on what to do as he stared at the two attacks.
Glancing to his side, he was ready to make an escape in that direction only for two ki infused arrows from the sidelines to shoot towards that spot with deadly speed; ready to hit him if he attempted that.
Orion was still going to take his chances as his back glowed brighter by the second and soon enough, a massive tidal wave the size of a tsunami burst out smashing into the beams of lightning from the phoenix.
A thunderous boom rang out as the wave crashed with the beams which furthermore detonated with a massive bang, followed by a shockwave that sent Kira hurling backward.
Simultaneously, the beam from Thalos’ shield smashed into him with full force sending him sliding uncontrollably backward.
He was frantically trying to keep himself grounded but to no avail.
The recoil from the shield also pushed Thalos backward hence he wasn’t able to deliver a follow up attack.
But some of those in the sidelines weren’t about to let this opportunity go.
Swirling Ki to their feet, they blasted forward with full speed and soon enough, more arrows from Lilly was sent speeding towards Orion.
Unfortunately, it just bounced off his scales like a harmless plastic of some sorts.
Judy leaped into the air, the tip of her spear glowing with deadly intent as a bright beam of Ki blasted towards the hybrid’s head.
Orion didn’t even bother to move as the beam smashed into his head yet barely scratched his scales.
Judy was stumped for a second as she had never encountered a situation where the beam had failed her yet.
It even worked against Orion.
Punching the air multiple times, Dame unleashed more than a dozen ki fist that clobbered into the hybrid’s body pushing him further back... just an inch or so.
Killian swung his crimson sword from the side unleashing a slash of flames which rushed towards Orion.
Spinning to face the slash, the hybrid swung his claw into it dispersing the flames away from it.
Fenrir slammed his palms together unleashing a massive lightning spear that smashed into Orion’s scales chipping some of it off while the force also sent him sliding backward.
Digging his hand into his pocket, the mage pulled out his last parchment.
Infusing mana into it after chanting some words, he flung it forward.
"Everybody! BACK!" Fenrir screamed into the air and everybody scattered almost immediately.
A massive fireball the size of a truck burst out from the parchment detonating in Orion’s face burning apart of the scales on his face off while causing him to skid a few feet backward.
At that moment, Thalos had regained his footing and quickly tore into the smoke created by the fireball— his greatsword was just an inch away from the hybrid’s face.
Only for a blisteringly fast kick to land into the gargoyle’s abdomen. A hole appeared in that spot while his body shot through the air with sound breaking speed.
Everybody were stumped at this scene as pinkish blood pained the air.
Before they could regain their composure, Orion was ready to move until a clamorous bang screamed through the air.
Lifting his head up, a massive lightning bolt crashed into his position sending sparks of lightning flying in all directions.
From the midst, Grey emerged with a death glare as his sword was totally and fully encased in lightning.
"Lightning Whip lash."
BANG!
An ear shattering bang echoed out so loudly as he exploded from where he stood totally shattering the ground and he was now in the air heading towards where the hybrid.
The bang was so loud that for a second, everybody paused to see the mage beginning to be surrounded by a tornado of lightning speeding towards Orion.
With a swing of his sword, three consecutive bangs were heard as the blade suddenly elongated with lightning encasing it and then it whipped out coiling all around the Orion faster than he could react; with such force and not only that, the lightning was so intense that it seered and burned into the beast before hurling it from his position and into the ground.
The scales all around Orion cracked massively as his body connected with the ground in a storm of debris and dust.
Grey wasn’t done yet.
With blood practically falling from his mouth and nose, he snapped his fingers unleashing a volley of lightning spears from the sky which screamed downward.
While the glow in his eyes were now dim.
