Manaless Mage-Chapter 242: The power of time[2]
Chapter 242: The power of time[2]
"You were running your mouth a lot back there, now let’s see how much you can talk now... Leon!" Larry said, slowly crackling his knuckles as he stared at the blonde haired boy.
"Hehe..." The two other boys beside him chuckled mockingly, scoffing at Leon.
"I don’t need to say much to idiots like you. I’ll just show you, come at me." Leon said, his hands still tucked in his pockets.
They were currently in an isolated alley at the left end of the street, which was meant to be the location for the epic showdown between them.
The alley had been chosen by Larry himself, and Leon simply followed them into it.
Normally, the situation would be akin to a goat walking foolishly into the lions den, however, the situation was a lot different this time.
"You’re annoying... just shut up!" A tall, lanky boy who was beside Larry shouted, suddenly charging at Leon.
"Rock Fists!" He shouted, clenching his right hand into a tight fist.
His fist rapidly hardened with a thick brown colour, turning into solid rock.
"Take this!" He said, swiftly thrusting his stone hand towards the face of the blonde haired boy.

However, just as his fist was about to connect, Leon’s eyes abruptly shone with a dim green glint, sending out a wave of light green energy which swept across the whole alley.
The boy’s body immediately froze in mid-air, with his hand still thrusted forward.
The two other boys behind him went still also, their faces completely frozen with the expressions they had before.
It wasn’t just them though, everything within the alley completely went still, including a small can which was about to drop to the ground.
As for the reason... time had frozen in the alley.
"Hehe... how’s that now?!" Leon said, bursting out in a loud chuckle.
"Look how stupid they all look now... haha... haha." He said, laughing out loud in excitement.
The sight of their unmoving bodies and the frozen expression on their faces looked so funny to him for some reason.
"Now, it’s time for a little pay back." He muttered, clenching his fists in excitement.
Thwack!
Without wasting anytime, he threw a punch at the boy’s face with all his strength, relishing in the satisfying sensation of his fist sinking into his frozen skin.
Thwack!
"That’s not enough..." He muttered, sending another one flying at his abdomen.
Blam!
"Have this." He said, delivering a powerful knee strike at the boy’s abdomen once again.
He didn’t stop there though, and instead, he kept striking the boy all over his body, attacking any where that came to his mind.
"And this."
Thwack!
"Another one."
Blam!
Thwack!
Thwack!
Thwack!
"Huff! Huff!" He panted, gently placing his leg back on the ground after giving the boy another powerful kick to the chin.
"I never... knew beating up someone could be so satisfying..." He mumbled, with a wide smirk on his face. "...and also tiring."
"I think that’s enough now... isn’t it?" He muttered, looking back at the boy’s Dave which was now swollen with numerous bruises.
"Yeah. It sure is." He said, nodding his head in satisfaction at the great art he had just painted on his face.
He slowly distanced himself from the boy, deciding to watch what would soon happen with a clearer view.
Snap!
"Now." He said, swiftly snapping his fingers.
The moment he snapped his fingers, another light wave of green energy washed over the alley, and everything immediately returned back to normal.
Clang!
Time started flowing normally again, and the can which was frozen in mid-air before instantly dropped to the ground with a loud noise.
"Huh?" The tall boy mumbled in surprise, seeing how his fist connected with empty air instead.
’When did he get—’ A painful sting suddenly assaulted him from his nose, cutting off his thoughts.
"Argh!!" He shouted, reflexively grabbing his nose.
Drip!
Drip!
"What... blood...? My nose..." He mumbled, seeing the thick red blood trickling down the gaps between his fingers.
As if that wasn’t enough, he suddenly felt someone punch him on his abdomen, sending a jolt of pain all through his body.
"Argh!!" He shouted, clutching his stomach in agony.
’W-what... is going... o-on...?’ He thought, beads of tears slowly pooling at the corner of his eyes.
Meanwhile, the two other boys standing behind him could only watch in confusion, as their friend kept screaming in pain despite no visible person attacking him.
"H-hey! Kurt, w-what’s going on with you?!" Larry shouted in worry, his hands trembling slightly.
"Yeah... is this a joke?! Just hit him, he’s right in front of you!" The other boy shouted, clenching his fists in annoyance.
"Arrgh!!!!" Kurt cried out again, feeling another surge of pain from his legs.
"Stop... make it... arrrghh!!!" Hot tears started streaming down his face, mixing with the blood gushing out of his nose as it trailed down.
"Wow... I wonder what could be happening to him." Leon said, letting out a mocking hiss.
"Y-you... what d-did you do to him?!" Larry shouted, veins bulging at the sides of his forehead.
However, he didn’t charge at him this time, and only stood still, waiting for the boy’s answer.
Although he didn’t want to admit it, even he was starting to get scared of whatever was going on.
He was trying his best to keep his cool, but he couldn’t completely hide his hands which were starting to tremble from fear and confusion.
"Huh? Me?" Leon muttered, letting out a dramatic gasp of shock.
"I’ve being standing here, how the hell would I do something to him?" He said, scoffing under his breath.
"Perhaps he’s just afraid... of me?" He said, flashing a smug smirk at Larry.
"W-who’ll be scared of an idiot... like you?" Larry mumbled, gnashing his teeth in annoyance.
He didn’t really understand what happened, however, seeing that smug look on Leon’s face was really annoying him.
"Really? Then why are you staying back... scared?" Leon muttered, letting out a light scoff.
"Just shut..." Larry said, clenching his fists even tighter as he hurriedly pumped mana through his body.
"...Up!!" He shouted, suddenly charging towards Leon with his left hand pulled back for a punch.
However, as he was running... he realised something strange.
’Why... doesn’t... it... feel... like... I’m... getting... any... closer...?’ He thought, his eyes slowly widening in shock as he stared at the figure of Leon in the distance.
"Hey Larry, I thought you wanted to punch me?" Leon said, with a smug smirk on his face.
"Then why are you moving... so slowly?" He said, the smirk on his face slowly widening.
