Chapter 155: Leimpia

Mirabella couldn’t believe Cyrus and Ashton left the castle without putting anyone in charge after not finding Ashton.

They were reckless, and she was especially disappointed in Ashton, who was older than Cyrus and an immortal demon prince.

He was supposed to be wiser, wasn’t he?

She scoffed, frowned deeply while staring at the throne, and crossed her arms across her chest.

"I can not believe this." She grumbled, and Katherine, who was standing behind her, couldn’t hide her sadness while thinking about River.

"Please tell me about the border." She said to Mirabella, who took a deep breath and turned to face her.

"At the border, there is a city called Leimpia, where the warriors of Antica live and train." Mirabella came out.

Katherine’s eyes widened in surprise, and her head immediately began to ache, which Mirabella noticed as Katherine’s face scrunched in pain.

"Are you okay?" Mirabella inquired, concerned.

"I will like to go there. I think I have something there. I am not sure I understand." Katherine spoke stiffly, rubbing her brow and scrunching her face in pain. "But I thought the ice dragons were all gone?" Katherine inquired.

"There are dragons who, like me, have been residing here under the protection of the ice dragons. Antica is our home, and we protect it. There are powerful warriors in Antica, far more powerful than anyone imagines." Mirabella smiled confidently as she spoke.

Katherine’s eyes widened in awe, then shrank as she inquired, "Are you a warrior? Unlike your sister, who has piano lessons at night, you have a fighting spirit." She then laughed.

Mirabella grinned. "Isa does not enjoy battle; she would rather torture her enemies herself, but I... I fought as a warrior for a century before returning to the castle after being seriously wounded." She admitted.

Katherine slowly nodded. "I sincerely apologize." She mumbled something.

"Do not be sorry, it is just a... fading memory." Mirabella spoke slowly, and Katherine looked at her with interest.

"Can’t you rule the castle in the meantime?" Katherine inquired, tapping Mirabella on the shoulder.

"Yes." Mirabella gave a nod.

Katherine sighed and moved her gaze away. "The city of Leimpia. What makes it sound so familiar?" She asked herself this question as she walked out of the throne room.

Mirabella squinted her eyes in wonder at the direction Katherine had vanished to. She remembered Sage telling her about Katherine hiding the mages from Credia.

"Leimpia sound familiar to her? Is it possible that she has the mages hidden there?" Mirabella inquired, intrigued.

....

Sage yawned loudly and blew air into her mouth as she tightly clutched the unconscious Darren.

Due to the dragon’s hard scales, Sage found it difficult to sleep while riding on his back. She was grateful that she was sitting comfortably on Arthur’s back and that he was flying slowly enough to keep her and Darren from falling off.

Sage felt one with the sky but couldn’t shake the cold off her body. She needed to land so she could warm up.

The sun was sun was rising, and it almost looked like they were flying directly into it. The sun’s ethereal fiery orange color made her smile as she hadn’t seen it this close before. She was aware that those on land couldn’t see the sun because it was obscured by gloomy grey clouds.

Suddenly, Arthur lowered, and Sage squeaked in surprise, clutching Darren tightly. She caught her breath as they emerged from the clouds, and her eyes widened as she saw the civilisation ahead.

It was large, but it couldn’t compete with Antica city. Her gaze was drawn to the massive mansion they were flying towards.

Sage’s eyes were barely open, and she clutched Darren tightly.

When they arrived at the compound, Arthur landed beside a frozen ice fountain, a loud thud followed, and they were immediately surrounded by fierce-looking warriors brandishing spears at them.

"Wait a minute..." Sage grunted, let go of Darren, and jumped off Arthur, landing on her feet.

Arthur let out a low growl, titled his body, and Darren fell to the snow blanketed ground.

"Arthur!" Sage yelled angrily, and Arthur immediately reverted to his human form, nervously smiling at Sage.

"Please accept my apologies."

Sage scoffed at him as she ran to Darren and knelt beside him, removing the snow from his body.

Recognizing Arthur, one of the hooded warriors gripped her spear tightly and withdrew her spear.

The hood covered her eyes up to her brow, leaving only her pointy nose and red lips visible.

"Stop. That is the personal guard of the king." She said sternly to the others, and they all withdrew their spears.

"I prefer warrior, but they all mean the same thing to me." said Arthur to the hooded female warrior.

"You are not supposed to be here, and who is that strange woman?" The female warrior was enraged.

"If you think about it long enough, you will realize that none of us are supposed to be here." Arthur winked at her and whispered to her.

"And what about that woman..."

"Please get her out of here! In Leimpia, strangers are not permitted." Through her teeth, the female warrior growled.

"Arthur." Sage grunted as she attempted to carry Darren on her back, and she had already succeeded because he was laying on her back, hands on her shoulders. Her face scrunched up in pain, revealing that Darren was indeed heavy.

Arthur smiled as he approached her. "Carrying a strong man who is meant to carry you? Queen Sage, I can not help but melt." With a sly grin, he said.

"Haha! Cheesy." Sage said sarcastically and rolled her eyes, looking more relaxed than before.

"What?"

"Wait, what did he just say?"

"I had a feeling she was a fire mage!"

The warriors present muttered in surprise.

"Did you just call her Queen Sage?" In disbelief, the female warrior behind Arthur inquired.

Arthur shifted his gaze to her. "What did you hear?" Teasingly, he inquired.

"Do you know where Cyrus is?" Sage suddenly and eagerly inquired of the female warrior.

"Yes, my queen." The female warrior responded slowly.

"Take me to him. He is aware of my presence." Sage said sternly, her eyes flashing fiery red.
