Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 95: The Secret of the Numbers
This kiss, intermittent along the way, entangled all the way from the corridor to her bedroom.
By the time they finally entered Seraphina Thorne’s bedroom, she was already disheveled and defenseless.
Worried about pulling on Ethan Sterling’s wound, Seraphina took the initiative to raise her hand and help him unbutton his shirt.
Noticing the scar on his waist, she reached out her fingers to gently stroke the scar.
"Were you and Chloe together before...?"
"Chloe Foster?" Ethan steadied her shoulders, "What did she tell you?"
Seraphina shook her head, "I’m just a bit curious."
"I’ve indeed known the Foster siblings for a long time, but Chloe Foster and I really had nothing between us."
Ethan reached out to pull her over and sat her on his lap.
"Seraphina, I hope you trust me."
"I..." Seraphina lowered her eyelashes, "I just saw that her birthday is September 21st."
"So, you thought my password was her birthday?"
Seraphina nodded.
Ethan paused, gently shook his head.
"September 21st is my mother’s memorial day, and..." Staring at Seraphina’s face in front of him, Ethan raised his hand to cup her face, "This day is a vitally important day in my life."
On that day, he lost one of the most important people in his life.
It was also the day he met another important person in his life.
For Ethan, this date held extraordinary significance.
Seraphina was stunned.
She had imagined many possibilities but never thought that these numbers marked Ethan’s mother’s memorial day.
"I’m sorry, Ethan, I..."
Ethan raised his hand to press her lips.
"I’ve told you, I don’t like it when you say sorry to me. I’d rather... you kiss me!"
Seraphina gazed at him for a moment, then raised her hand to pull his hand away from her lips and turned her face to kiss him.
...
That night, Ethan ended up sleeping with Seraphina in her master bedroom.
Since taking over Zenith Group, Ethan had gone from managing two companies to three.
Apart from work, he also had to investigate Caleb Thorne’s case, busy from morning till night every day.
Even though he was injured these past few days, he had not had a good rest.
Holding Seraphina, he quickly fell into a sweet sleep.
Seraphina leaned against his chest but found it hard to sleep.
In the dim light from the nightstand, she lifted her face to gaze at Ethan’s face.
Others fall in love and then get married, but they got married first and now are falling in love.
As for dating, yet...?
Falling in love but not dating and already sleeping together?
Seraphina smiled wryly to herself.
Oh well!
Their relationship was different from others from the start.
No matter what order, as long as he was sincere towards her, it was enough.
Raising her hand, she gently felt his forehead, ensuring he wasn’t feverish from an inflamed wound, and Seraphina finally relaxed.
Resting her face back on Ethan’s chest, she closed her eyes.
They stayed up too late last night, and the phone wasn’t brought into the room.
The next morning, they both lay in bed.
By the time Seraphina woke up, it was almost nine in the morning.
Climbing off Ethan’s chest, she immediately checked the bandage on his arm, ensuring the wound hadn’t bled, then glanced at the clock on the nightstand.
Seeing the time, she suddenly sat up straight.
"Oh no, I’m going to be late!"
Quickly jumping out of bed, she wrapped herself in a blanket and ran to the bathroom door, then jogged back to grab a set of clothes from the wardrobe.
Ethan leaned against the headboard, watching her dash around with the blanket, and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Uncovering himself, he casually wrapped a towel around his waist.
Grabbing Seraphina, who was preparing to shower with her clothes in hand, he hugged her close.
Bending down, he kissed her neck.
"At worst, take a day off. Don’t forget... today is our first official day as a couple. Shouldn’t you accompany your husband and boyfriend?"
"Today really isn’t possible." Seraphina gently pushed him away, "There’s a recording session with the violin group today, and I’m the group leader and deputy chief, I really can’t miss it."
"Alright then." Ethan bit her lip lightly, "So... dinner together tonight?"
"That’s no problem."
"Alright, I’ll let you go now."
Ethan released his arms, and Seraphina ran to the bathroom door with her clothes, turning back to him.
"By the way, you can find a suit in my brother’s room... and be careful with your injury."
"Got it, Mrs. Sterling!" Ethan smiled, tilting his chin, "Don’t worry about me, go freshen up."
Time waits for no one, and Seraphina hurriedly dashed into the bathroom.
When she finished washing up and came out, Ethan had already found a suit in Caleb Thorne’s room and changed into it.
He was putting the ready-made chocolate into a thermos.
He packed the thermos and bread into a paper bag and handed it over to her.
"Where is your car parked? I didn’t see it."
"Uh..."
Seraphina bit her lower lip, too embarrassed to explain she had planned to separate from him initially, so she told a little lie.
"When I was taking things before, I accidentally locked the keychain in the apartment."
"You scatterbrain!" Ethan laughed, "Come on, I’ll drive you!"
"No need, I’ll just hail a cab. It’s better if you don’t drive while your hand is injured these days."
"Don’t worry, wasn’t my driving last night... pretty good?" Ethan winked at her ambiguously, "Mrs. Sterling certainly enjoyed it."
Seraphina’s face flushed, "You’re such a rogue!"
"I’m talking about actual driving." Ethan gave a cheeky grin, "Where did Mrs. Sterling’s thoughts go?"
Seraphina gave him a glare, but her hand reached over, taking his laptop bag on her own accord.
The two got into Ethan’s car together, arriving at the recording studio just at half-past nine.
The violin group members who were there for the recording had all arrived, waiting for Seraphina in the lobby on the first floor.
Chloe Foster was also there with her violin, standing among the others.
Seraphina hurriedly got out of the car with her violin and rushed up the steps.
"Sorry, I’m late."
Claire Clayton had already informed everyone about the competition results, and seeing Seraphina, everyone came forward to congratulate her.
One of the young musicians noticed the kiss mark on her neck.
"Seraphina, what happened to your neck?"
Seraphina touched her side neck, guessing it was a mark left by Ethan, and her cheeks immediately turned red as she hurriedly pulled up her coat collar to cover it.
"Oh... nothing... nothing to worry about!"
In the rush, she had grabbed a round-neck sweater without thinking of this.
Beside her, Claire grinned mischievously.
"Looks like last night... our President Sterling celebrated quite hard with you!"
Everyone guessed what happened and laughed knowingly.
Seraphina blushed and gave her a playful glare.
"What nonsense, come on, let’s go record upstairs!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Ethan’s voice came from behind.
"Honey, wait..."
