Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 96: Why Should I Be Afraid to Kiss My Own Wife in Front of Others?
Seraphina turned her head and saw Ethan Sterling chasing to the lobby, she hurried to greet him.
"Why are you here?"
"What do you think, Mrs. Sterling the scatterbrain!" Ethan handed her a paper bag with breakfast. "Don’t forget to eat. I’ll call to check on you later. If you forget again, see how I deal with you!"
Seraphina glared at him and reminded him in a low voice.
"Everyone’s here, keep it down!"
Ethan lifted his face and glanced toward the elevator.
Standing in the crowd, Chloe immediately waved at him.
"Good morning, Ethan!"
Ethan ignored Chloe. "What’s she doing here?"
"Oh, she’s working with our orchestra now," Seraphina explained.
A different look flashed in Ethan’s eyes as he wrapped his arm around Seraphina and gave her a peck on the lips.
"Wow!"
...
Several young girls immediately cheered nearby.
Seraphina’s face turned red as she pushed him lightly.
"So many people, what are you doing?"
"I’m kissing my own wife, who cares if people see?" Ethan raised his hand to tidy her hair, "Alright, I’m off to work, I’ll pick you up this evening."
Waving to the crowd at the elevator, Ethan turned and left.
Seraphina returned with the paper bag, walking into the elevator with the others, while the young girls started to tease.
"Wow, Seraphina, you and your husband are so loving!"
"Exactly! If I had a President Sterling, I’d be willing to gain weight for ten years!"
"That’s greedy! If my boyfriend had just one-tenth of President Sterling’s qualities, I’d gladly gain weight for ten years!"
...
They teased and laughed, while Chloe, standing in the elevator’s corner, tightened her fingers around her violin.
"Oh right!" Claire Clayton turned and asked, "Chloe, do you know President Sterling too?"
"Oh, he’s been good friends with my brother for a long time, so I’ve known him for ages," Chloe explained with a smile.
"No way! You’ve known President Sterling for so long and haven’t been interested?" another musician exclaimed. "If I had such a perfect guy around me, I wouldn’t give other women the chance."
"But he has to like you too!" Claire laughed.
The female musician standing next to Chloe nodded, "True, feelings can’t be sorted by order or time."
"By the way, Seraphina!" Claire curiously asked, "How did you and President Sterling meet? You got married so young, were you childhood sweethearts?"
"Yeah, Seraphina, tell us!"
...
The girls all looked over, full of curiosity.
"Well... that’s a secret!"
Seraphina didn’t want to discuss the topic, so she deflected with teasing.
"Anyway, have you all mastered the pieces? We’re recording the soundtrack for a movie, and the studio charges by the hour, so let’s try to nail it in one take."
"Don’t worry!"
"Yeah, we practiced in advance."
...
Coincidentally, the elevator arrived at the floor.
"That’s great." Seraphina led the way out, "Let’s head to the recording then."
This time their work was to score a drama, and the client highly valued Seraphina, especially requesting her for the solo violin parts.
Since Seraphina hadn’t had breakfast yet, Claire suggested they record other parts first.
She led some musicians into the studio, while Seraphina sat on a corridor chair to eat breakfast.
As this section didn’t require Chloe, she stayed behind and sat next to Seraphina.
Upon seeing the chocolate in Seraphina’s thermos, Chloe sniffed.
"Ethan made this for you, right? I can tell by the smell, he used to make it for me too..."
Chloe abruptly stopped talking, as if she had spoken out of line, and glanced at Seraphina.
"Sorry, Seraphina, I didn’t mean it that way, I hope... you don’t mind!"
"I know." Seraphina sipped her hot chocolate, "Ethan told me you used to spend time together often."
"Doesn’t it bother you?"
"What’s there to mind?" Seraphina smiled, "Even though we’re married, he has the right to have friends, besides that was before we got married, and your brother and Ethan are still close friends."
Seraphina wasn’t old-fashioned or conservative.
With a man like Ethan, Lord knows how many pursue him.
If he hadn’t dated before, Seraphina would find that odd.
But that’s all in the past, as long as he’s sincere now, Seraphina doesn’t care about Ethan’s past.
After all, who doesn’t have some past? 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Even she was once engaged to Adrian Chamberlain?
Chloe laughed lightly, "That’s great, I was worried... you’d misunderstand us!"
Remembering Ivy’s previous warning, Seraphina swallowed her chocolate, looked at Chloe, and half-jokingly teased.
"Chloe, you wouldn’t really like Ethan and want to steal my husband, would you?"
"I..." Chloe lowered her lashes, hiding her smile, "That’s impossible!"
"That’s good."
With that, Seraphina also chuckled.
"Don’t be nervous, Chloe, I’m just kidding with you."
"Seraphina!" Claire called from the recording studio not far away, "We’ve finished the first section, come listen?"
"Okay, coming!"
Seraphina stood up and quickly walked over.
Chloe sat in the hallway, smelling the thick aroma of chocolate, twisting her fingers tightly together.
The tender skin by her nails bled from being picked, yet she seemed not to feel the pain.
Seraphina entered the studio, took the headphones, and listened carefully to the recorded violin ensemble, nodding in satisfaction.
"Great, continue recording!"
Everyone in the orchestra was experienced, and they quickly completed the ensemble parts.
Claire called Chloe in to record her harmony with Seraphina.
The two entered the studio, preparing their instruments.
Seeing the blood on Chloe’s fingers, Seraphina asked concernedly, "Chloe, what happened to your hand?"
Looking at her finger, Chloe awkwardly lowered her hand.
"It’s... it’s nothing!"
"It’s not nothing, you’re bleeding!"
Seraphina put down her violin and held her palm.
Seeing Chloe’s bloody fingers shocked her, she hurriedly took her outside.
"Chloe’s hand is hurt, Claire, take Chloe to the hospital to get her injury treated."
It’s needless to say how important hands are to violinists.
Chloe, as an orchestra member and Nathan’s sister.
Both personally and professionally, Seraphina couldn’t ignore it.
Chloe quickly waved her hand, "No need, I’m fine!"
"Alright, Seraphina, leave her to me!"
Claire supported Chloe’s arm, "Let’s go to the hospital together."
"Seraphina, I really..."
Chloe wanted to say more, but Seraphina had already taken her violin, handing it to Claire.
"There’s no work in the orchestra this afternoon, once your hand is treated, go home and rest."
The other musicians chimed in too, and Chloe had no choice but to leave with Claire.
Seraphina glanced at Chloe’s blood on her hand, frowning slightly.
As everyone came up together, she hadn’t noticed Chloe was hurt, and Seraphina couldn’t figure out how Chloe’s hand got injured like that.
"Miss Thorne, can we continue?" the recording engineer asked.
"Sure, no problem!"
Seraphina wiped her fingers and re-entered the studio.
After a busy day, they finally finished all the recordings in the afternoon.
With a group of musicians, they left the recording studio.
Seraphina said goodbye to everyone and just reached the roadside.
Then Nathan’s call came in; he said he already met with Caleb.
About the details of Caleb’s case, he wanted to discuss it further with her.
Seraphina checked the time, it was just after four, still early for dinner.
"Okay, I’ll head to your law firm now."
She hailed a cab to Nathan’s law firm and knocked on his office door with a smile.
"Nathan, what do you want to discuss with me?"
Nathan invited her to the sofa and sat down seriously across from her.
"Seraphina, tell me honestly, what’s the deal with your marriage to Ethan?"
