Master Of None-Chapter 2583. Mapping Orbs
Chapter 2583: 2583. Mapping Orbs
The wandering blacksmith walked over to the wall and sat down just staring at what they had created. Jan and Abe followed him and the three sat there watching the mana and runes change their colorations and flow.
While they all knew that what they had made was spectacular, amazing, and groundbreaking, they also understood that this was just a magic tool. It was the start of something which would be altering the course of Genesis as a whole.
The levels of growth that would come from using this magic tool would only be halted by the people who used it. They would need to ensure that the knowledge was used appropriately.
"I plan to let the communication and information guild publish all maps for free. \Merchant groups, and the merchant guild as a whole will have access to updated maps once a month. If there are emergencies they will be published daily. Weather reports and other important events related to monster travel that are not emergencies will be purchasable by those groups. The terrain is free to learn, but the other aspects of the world should be monitored. Those people need to be paid."
Walker wasn’t just thinking about those who would be using this magic tool. He was thinking about those who would be maintaining everything. The monthly reports would allow for there to be a better knowledge of what terrains might be altered by nature or monsters as a whole. That would be a large piece for people to speak about and for trade deals to be done around.
There would also be people who made it their business to learn about the terrain and plan their personal travels. The larger emergencies would be there and published as often as needed. This would ensure safety and changes within travel routes so that people were better prepared for everything.
Otherwise, more information that was not an emergency and that groups might wish to have as up to date as possible, could be set at a fair price. Those maintaining it would be paid fairly from the reports they generated and researched.
Meaning that the merchant groups or adventurers looking to go to certain areas and wanting even more in depth information about the weather, terrain specifics, dungeon information, and so on would be paying for those high detail reports.
This would matter to larger groups of adventurers. They were the ones who were looking to mine larger sections of mountains for temporary gains or looking to hunt specific monsters. Or they would be the ones hunting for rare herbs or gathering natural resources. It would also be for those who were looking to take advantage of monster migrations to collect materials or capture certain monsters for the tamer’s guild.
That information was important to them but would become too much if published constantly for free and burn out the employees who would be managing this mapping system. There were many jobs that had just been created and surely there would be new classes that would come with being able to use this magic tool.
"We will need to make more of those communication sensing orbs, we need a better name for them. I was thinking of making this the grand map sphere and calling the smaller magic tools mapping orbs. Easy to explain to anyone who takes the mapping orbs to each location. We have a few but they are focused on the Genesis immediate territory."
The others didn’t seem to have the energy to say much. While Walker noticed some nods in favor, he also felt that he had a little too much energy now. They had worked hard and it had been days on end working to make this creation. Just the mana they used had been replenished by Walker’s buffing skills, his mana manipulation of the environment, and the potions and food that they consumed. Otherwise they wouldn’t have made it past a day or two of work.
"I will take the remaining orbs and finish them up. I can at least get one more working to begin processing the bridge to the elemental planes on the island. There are people there living good lives and also soldiers there to guard the area. I just have to train a few. You can all rest better while we wait for teams to be in charge of monitoring the map."
Walker started to leave the room and heard Abe mumble about how amazing the rune formations were. He had done so a few times. He was still amazed by the changes in some runes as he worked. They were not more efficient and even dealt with mixed and fused manas. New territory for rune carvers.
Jan just watched the fused metal and wooden parts. He hadn’t ever considered himself having a home within the forges of blacksmiths. Now, eh was considering trying to add this to his repertoire. Adjust his personal creations and even take clients that wished to see the two mediums mixed.
The wandering blacksmith was just smiling. His face had taken on a few wrinkles lately. He had smiled a lot more than what he had ever done so before. All because he constantly worked on new and amazing things. His entire life he had pushed the boundaries of forging. Whether it was in the wilderness or making deals with dragons before anyone else had the courage to seek them out. Within Genesis? He was doing new things every day. Some things he just had to consult on and he would be allowed to witness history for his profession and many others.
Glancing at the current chain quest, Walker realized he was still yet to complete it.
’Second Link: Balance
Requirements:
Assist the manas within various areas to flow more smoothly.
Instruct others to take up quests to discover lands where mana has stagnated.
Learn and map the shifting of the elemental planes around the world.
Rewards:
World resonance with all manas.
Small enlightenment in mixing mana understanding.
Small enhancement of the quest granter skill.’
The quests he had given were completed and he just had some rewards to give out. Mostly training or helping others. The materials had all been handled. The wind mana dense area had been the only area with stagnant manas thus far, however, there would be more. It was something that would naturally occur as time went on. But this quest would end at some point once he managed to get the mapping orb in place near a bridge to the elemental planes.
This meant that he had to also make sure that the partially finished mapping orbs were properly activated. Luckily for him he had the minimum skills needed to do so. He couldn’t create them alone, he would need the skills of the wandering blacksmith, Jan, and Abe to do so. Which was more encouragement to make sure that crafters worked together in the future.
If Walker didn’t see a familiar face, he would have set off to the island to set the first mapping orb. However, he knew very well that if Alma had come all the way here to the Genesis building from her own important duties with the trees and also with the elves, there was a good reason.
"Walker, I want you to come with me to the forest elf territory. We have a small area with dense earth mana causing some problems. I also know you might have something to test in that area." Alma smiled a little. She had held off for a few hours since she received the report since she had heard of Walker’s small speech and that the magic tool should be completed. She knew very well that this meant testing.
"I had another idea, but I have the ability to finish more mapping orbs that needed to be tested. So I will take you up on this. If it’s not a mana stagnant area, then we will still get valuable data. Do you want to tell the current forest elf queen we are coming?" He didn’t bat an eye at this. He knew that there was a good reason Alma had come and also that the forest elf queen would be glad to see them.
"I will let her know. We are leaving in three hours. Gil will be handling things here since he needs to accomplish a few more tasks." She smirked while turning around and motioning to some assistants.
Part of Walker wondered if he was lucky or unlucky. This was more work to do which should put stress on his mind and body. It was also good because he wanted to test the mapping orbs and this was an even better opportunity. It was just not what he needed to finish his chain quest link and move on to the next link. He knew very well that the next link was going to have a high chance of involving the elemental planes more.
