Modern World Warlock-Chapter 306: Combat Art
When Zac stepped out of the rubble, he walked along the corrupted and destroyed streets back to Saturio's location.
His steps were slow, and his body tumbled slightly from side to side as he dragged his baseball bat across the corrupted asphalt.
The redhead was unaware of the unknown energy that surrounded his body at that moment. All he could think about was returning to the fight.
As he arrived back on the street, Zac scanned his surroundings and saw Saturio standing beside Curtis. However, they weren't attacking each other. Instead, the two of them were staring at Zac with their eyes widened.
Saturio seemed excited and grinned while Curtis was in a state of shock. Even though he knew for a fact that it was Zac who was standing a few meters away from them, he could barely recognize the potent aura around him.
"I'm not done…" Zac muttered, prompting the barbarian to clench his weapon tightly.
The warm rain that fell on them slightly washed away all the blood on their bodies, and when Zac and Saturio clashed their weapons again, the impact scattered the rainfall away from them for a brief moment.
Although Curtis' flames started to dissipate, he could still cast his fire magic without it being interrupted by the rain. Nonetheless, his spells didn't have the same potency as when they started.
Their onslaught of incessant attacks came to a halt when Saturio landed another hit on Zac that flung the redhead against the corner of a tall building.
When Saturio jumped up to follow up his attack, Zac turned in mid-air and slammed the barbarian with his baseball bat, forcing him to land on the rooftop of another building.
Zac and his opponent stood atop two buildings in front of each other, and as soon as the two of them jumped toward their enemy, the scaffolding beneath them was shattered from the force of their jump.
After Zac was pushed down by the powerful lightning that surrounded Saturio's weapon, Curtis realized that the redhead didn't have as much energy as the barbarian.
Even though Zac was taking a lot of hits and was somehow still standing, he couldn't break through Saturio's defenses, which gave Curtis an idea.
His spells were losing potency from the rain and from his exhaustion, but if he could transfer some of his fiery mana to Zac, he would have a better chance at breaking through the barbarian's defense.
As Zac and Saturio were less than two meters away from each other with their weapons raised, Zac felt the handle of his bat getting hotter.
A torrent of potent flames encased Zac's weapon, making him glance from the side of his eyes and notice Curtis aiming his palm at him while his body was enveloped in fire.
'I feel… stronger,' Zac thought.
*Clink* *Boom!* Right as Saturio's lightning club and the fiery chrome bat made contact, a powerful impact was generated that blasted the barbarian away with force.
"HAHA! Now, this is a true battle!" The barbarian king shouted.
*Sigh* "That's as much as I can do right now…" Curtis muttered to himself.
With each swing of Zac's bat, a wave of flames would wash over everything before him, with a fire so potent that it took the rain minutes to make it disappear.
Their encounter made both Zac and Saturio travel through the corrupted district, slamming each other against different buildings that were demolished by the sheer destruction of their attacks.
At one point, the two were huffing and puffing from exhaustion. Still, Saturio had a satisfied smile on his bloody face.
"Hey, Saturio…" Zac beckoned his opponent.
"Is this not enough?" He pondered.
"It isn't! As long as I live, I will keep bringing chaos and despair in order to create the best heroes ever seen!" Saturio replied with confidence.
"Mhmm… I see," Zac muttered.
When the redhead remembered his training sessions with the Jade Dragons, he wondered if there was an "ultimate ability" that he could use.
At first, Dante was confused since he didn't know what he meant by an "ultimate," and Zac compared his "malevolent arts" to ultimate abilities in a game.
Dante explained that Zac could potentially be able to use a malevolent art since he had some of his umbra infused into his body. However, as a berserker, there were other similar abilities that could come to him more intuitively.
'Screw it… I'll try it,' Zac thought, taking a deep breath.
Saturio noticed the change in Zac's aura and stood still to see what he would do, grinning with excitement as he could feel his own death approaching.
"Combat Art: Berserker," Zac chanted, releasing a red mist from his body that seemed to only travel around him in a vortex.
"Yes, Zac! That's what I'm talking about! Break through your limits right here, right now!" Saturio shouted, gazing at Zac with his eyes widened in excitement.
"Combat Art: King's Club!" Saturio chanted.
The barbarian king's weapon began to grow to the size of a light post, although much wider and covered with lightning spikes.
When the two of them bolted forward with their weapons clenched, Saturio went for an overhead attack with his oversized club, prompting Zac to slam his flaming bat against it with all of his might.
Waves of flames and strands of lightning shot out from the point of impact, and as Zac let out a battle roar that echoed through the entire corrupted district, he increased his strength and broke through Saturio's club.
Right as his weapon was shattered, the barbarian king smiled before receiving a powerful attack that blasted him away, breaking through numerous buildings and landing on his back in a wholly destroyed plaza.
"Holy shit…" Curtis muttered to himself after witnessing Zac's power.
The redhead felt dizzy and began to stumble his way to where Saturio landed, using the debris around him as support so he wouldn't lose his balance.
When he reached the plaza, he sauntered towards his opponent and sat down beside him, letting out a sigh of relief.
