The moment that Zac and Saturio rushed towards each other and clashed their weapons, a powerful shockwave was generated from the point of impact.

The light blue spikes on Saturio's club glowed even brighter, producing strands of lightning that thundered all around them, hitting the buildings, vehicles, and any zombie that was unfortunate enough to be close to their fight.

"That's a strange weapon…" Zac commented after deflecting Saturio's club and stepping back, gaining some distance.

With a proud smile, the barbarian explained that he had forged his weapon himself using the lightning stones that could be found in his hometown in Terra—The Lightning Highlands. Thus, his club was fused with powerful electric magic.

Every time that their weapons made contact, a barrage of lightning would appear between them, which made it more difficult for Curtis to support Zac in battle.

Pillars of fire and stands of lightning kept incessantly appearing and destroying the corrupted area, and when Saturio increased the speed of his movements, he managed to land a hit on Zac.

The lightning spikes buried under the side of his torso, electrocuting the redhead and flinging him all the way into a large building, landing inside a random apartment.

As Zac slowly stood up from the ground, he noticed that there were electrical currents surrounding him, making him struggle to move.

The strike he received on the ribs was hurting, and the few holes left by the spikes were bleeding. Moreover, crashing against the building injured his forehead as well, making the blood drip down on his face.

Outside of the building, a massive fiery explosion appeared, caused by Curtis, who used his spell to halt Saturio for a moment while he quickly checked on Zac's wellbeing.

"Are you good?" Curtis asked, entering the destroyed and corrupted apartment from the hole in the wall.

"No… This hurts pretty badly," Zac replied while the electrical currents slowed down his movements.

Even though the two of them had healthstones created by Dante that could heal their injuries in a few seconds, using them would also decrease a person's stamina.

Zac had already used some of the energy from his healthstone after the fight with the fire Death Knight, so using it again would only tire him more.

The healthstone would use more or less stamina depending on the gravity of the wound it was healing, and when Zac inspected himself, he knew that using the healthstone would knock him out.

Right as the currents around Zac disappeared, they walked towards the hole in the wall to exit the building and saw Saturio at the bottom with his spiked club in hand.

When the barbarian swung with all his might, a wave of lightning shot out straight at the base of the building, demolishing it and making the entire structure crumble.

Zac and Curtis quickly jumped out of the building so they wouldn't get caught in the disaster. However, that was Saturio's intention, and as soon as they jumped out, the barbarian caught up with them in mid-air and slammed them both with a quick succession of attacks.

The pair landed in opposite directions, prompting Saturio to slam his weapon on the ground as if he were stabbing it with a sword.

From his spiked club, a bolt of massive lightning appeared and traveled upwards to the perpetually dark sky, generating thunderous clouds that began to roar in the vicinity.

The rain started to fall, and the drops felt a bit warm, prompting Saturio to raise both of his arms, embracing the chaos he was creating.

From both of his sides, Zac and Curtis rushed towards him at full speed. Zac had his chrome bat raised overhead while Curtis' right arm was fully encased in flames.

Right as they closed up on their opponent, a session of swift and violent attacks began.

The three of them received just as much as they dished out. Zac slammed Saturio with his bat on the shoulder but got punched in the mouth right after.

Curtis landed a fire fist on Saturio's ribs and was met with a kick to the chest that made him cough up blood.

Their onslaught didn't stop. Both Curtis and Zac were drenched in their own blood, and their breathing got heavier every minute they spent in battle. Nonetheless, they could see that Saturio's condition wasn't that much different from theirs.

At one point, Saturio landed a powerful strike on Zac's stomach that made him crash through three different buildings.

Curtis appeared behind his opponent and generated a fire pillar right beneath him that scorched the barbarian momentarily. Still, the blond was met with an instant punch in the face that almost made one of his eyes pop.

Lying with his back against the ground, Zac pushed the wall of debris that had landed on top of him and slowly stood up from the rubble.

The redhead was covered in blood and dust, and he began to feel his consciousness slipping away.

'I can't lose here… Not yet,' Zac thought. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

At the same time, Curtis stood up from the ground and shook his head to remove the excess blood that was dripping down from it. Suddenly, he felt a strange aura nearby.

The blond recognized a part of the aura as that of Zac's. However, it seemed to be fused with another aura that he had only seen for a few seconds before.

"I see… I get it now," Curtis muttered to himself.

"HA! Do you feel it, too?" Saturio asked the blond wizard, who was startled by the undead's sudden appearance beside him.

Curtis had listened to Saturio's entire story and how the man had been looking for a redheaded hero his whole life.

At first, he thought that it was a coincidence and that the barbarian was simply trying to turn Zac into the hero he had always wanted to meet in battle. However, now that he could sense the ominous aura mixed within him, he believed that maybe Saturio was right.

"That's it! That's the heroic nature I've been searching for!" Saturio exclaimed.
