A few weeks had passed since the ancient artifact, the Tesseract, was returned to Damien. Since then, the situation in the lower half of the New World had gradually calmed down.

Tensions between the Federation and the Enclave of Oberon decreased under the subtle efforts of the SIGIL.

Speaking of the Surveillance and Interdiction of Global Incursion Landing, it had become somewhat independent from the Federal Government.

The funding was diversified, with Block 7 handling most of the budget. Naturally, with the increase in responsibilities, Damien had no choice but to lend some of his monsters for the sake of bureaucracy.

"You work fast, Proton. If not for you, I would have died here in this office." Francine's lips curved into a subtle smile, praising the assistance of the peculiar-looking human beside her.

"I am honored to be of help, Miss Francine." Proton bowed in respect and continued signing the paperwork. After evolving into a Five-Star Monster, it had transformed into a being resembling its master.

A human.

Its current appearance was that of a middle-aged man, exuding a sense of age and wisdom. For this reason, the Rogue Blade didn't doubt its capabilities and intellect.

Outside the office was a gorgeous lady and a beautiful girl, who were playing a newly-released game on the television. It was a fighting game.

"W-What? How did you beat me, Yuki?" Hecate stood up and pouted at Yuki, who was gently smiling at her. "I simply worked hard, Miss Hecate."

That humble attitude didn't do any good for the crimson-haired vampire. She could only storm away, unable to understand how someone who recently learned how to hold a controller could defeat her.

Yuki stared at Hecate's back, maintaining her smile. Nexus appeared from a corner and remarked. "Trying to bully the master's favorite girl..."

"I should have expected no less from the one and only, Yuki." He shook his head as though exasperated by what he had discovered. Yuki glared at him and turned her head away in annoyance.

"It's a strategy from the book I read..."

"The Art of War."

"Appear strong when weak, appear weak when strong."

"I am not ignorant about how controllers work. I understand the great lord's hobbies and have written theories regarding how they worked."

"Of course, I studied the skill of gaming."

She explained and waited to hear the praise of Nexus. But she was only met with silence. When she looked at him, she saw his astounded and disappointed face.

"You did all that to a young lady?"

"I mean... I guess Miss Hecate does have the favor of the great lord, but damn... I didn't think you were this pitiful." Nexus snickered while a nerve popped from Yuki's forehead.

He promptly faded into dust as though he didn't exist in the first place, leaving Yuki alone to wallow in her anger and pity.

But she quickly calmed herself and decided to analyze the crimson-haired girl. According to her knowledge, Hecate was what others would call a gap-moe.

An ancient Eastern word combining two opposing behaviors in a cutely and appealing manner.

Intelligence suggested that Hecate's first personality was that of a young tomboyish girl, while the other was a seductive and commanding lady. It seemed to be the juxtaposition between innocence and depravity.

Was this the origin of the great lord's attraction?

Yuki couldn't help but wonder to herself.

While the goddess of life and death was busy pondering the mysteries of her great lord's heart, Echidna and Hawk stood before the newly renovated tower of Block 7.

For the first time since becoming the headquarters of the Seventh Division, it had finally been given a name.

Arcana.

Their vacation had recently concluded, and they were ready to return to Block 7. Their new home. Some time had passed since they were accepted to the Seventh Division.

Even the young Hawk was growing to be a fine young girl.

Regardless, it felt as though nothing much had changed compared to before.

"I wonder when we would get our own juniors, Hawk..." Echidna muttered to herself, glancing at the young girl beside her. The little one had been her trusted aide, her partner.

Subconsciously, Hawk became a part of Echidna's few treasures in this world. Her family.

"Once Miss Alastair returns, perhaps Block 7 will start acquiring more Jaegers," Hawk answered, staring at the looming tower before them. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

The two promptly entered and found no one at the reception desk. Echidna sighed, realizing that they truly needed more people in Block 7.

Otherwise, even Arcana wouldn't be able to complete its basic functions.

Hawk pressed the button of the elevator, and the metallic door slid open. The two stepped inside the ornate interior, standing as the elevator closed.

The bells of each floor chimed as they arrived at the uppermost floor of Arcana. When the elevator door slid open, they saw Hecate and Yuki playing in a fighting game once again.

Echidna was dumbfounded while Hawk stepped forward and found nothing wrong. The young one walked towards the two and asked. "What game are you playing?"

As the youngest Jaeger of Block 7, she was aware of the rising gaming market within the Federation. It would be saddening if she were ignorant of the generation's trend.

"Oh, a fighting game..." Hecate replied with a smirk, glancing at Hawk for a moment before returning her velvet gaze towards the television. "I need to reclaim my lost honor."

"Who is this older sister?" Hawk tilted her head, curious about the identity of Yuki. As the goddess of life and death was about to introduce herself, Hecate interjected.

"Her name is Yuki, and she belongs to Damien." The crimson-haired vampire's response was blunt, but Yuki didn't deny it. After all, she really did belong to the great lord.

Feeling her face instinctively blush, she barely controlled herself and nodded towards the little girl. She had a dignity to maintain. After all, she belonged to the great lord.

Her reputation would mark him.

It would be problematic if it troubled him in some way.

Meanwhile...

In the top office of Arcana, Damien pulled out the Tesseract, which attracted the attention of Francine and Proton.

"Is the master attempting to break the seal of his boss?" Proton tilted its head, while Damien nodded in agreement. It was about time for Alastair to leave the fourth-dimensional prison.

"Indeed, I am." During the past few weeks, he had spent most of his time learning about the intricacies of the Tesseract from Nexus.

It truly was a marvelous technology from a long-forgotten civilization. But to think even such a powerful kind couldn't resist the cycle of descent brought about by the Black Towers.

Francine halted on her paperwork, and Proton followed suit. She placed the files inside the cabinets and stood up from her chair, crossing her arms.

She wanted to be ready for what was about to come.

Damien merely glanced at her for a moment before returning his sable-tinted gaze towards the ancient artifact. He closed his eyelids and recalled the activation protocol of the fourth-dimensional prison.

Imprisoning something or someone costs a substantial price. But freeing them? As long as the key was properly handed to the Tesseract, there would be no resistance.

Utilizing the key granted to him by Nexus, the Tesseract was unravelled. Its smooth surface glimmered in a peculiar radiance that shattered through dimensions.

Francine couldn't resist squinting her eyes while Proton merely froze and closed off its senses. Some things shouldn't be uncovered in reality.

Truths that led to the abyss that brought forth creation.

As the Tesseract shimmered for a couple of seconds, its body broke into pieces as it released its prisoner from the fourth dimension.

Afterward, the ancient artifact dulled and returned to its previous state, lying on the floor. But most people weren't looking at the Tesseract; their gaze was pointed at its prisoner.

The Seventh Paragon, strongest of humanity, Alastair Glass.

Strands of her silver hair danced despite the listless wind. Her indifferent pale eyes permeated arrogance that bordered on oppression.

Despite being a prisoner of another dimension, she seemed to have gotten stronger instead. After observing her surroundings and acknowledging that it wasn't an illusion, her supple lips curved into a subtle smile.

"Hasn't it been a while, Francine..." Her indifferent and arrogant pale gaze softened when looking at her partner, who immediately hugged her tightly. "I'm glad I don't have to work anymore."

Proton and Damien glanced at one another, pretending to not hear a single thing. On the other hand, Alastair chuckled and turned her attention towards her Aberrant.

"You sure have gotten stronger while I was gone, Damien. Handling the progenitor like that... That arrogance must have come from me, right?" Alastair smirked, pointing at her beautiful face.

She considered herself a mentor and boss of Damien, despite not teaching him much. Naturally, she attributed his arrogance to herself.

In all honesty, how that was a good thing could only be considered a mystery.

Damien could only sigh at the scene, but his lips were tugged by a subconscious smile. After all, he truly was relieved to have her back.

"Welcome back, Alastair."
