Mountain Sitting Immortal-Chapter 359: Desperate Measures.
Chapter 359: Desperate Measures.
The lady was wielding a sword in hand and had two more swords flying around her. She was attacking and defending with the three swords.
The three swords meant that she had more avenues of attack than Goldwyn. Unfortunately, the two of them didn’t have the same speed and power.
Goldwyn armament enhanced both his strength and speed, so even though he only had two arms to fight with, he was not at a disadvantage.
Actually, it wouldn’t have mattered if he was slow and she could control four swords to fight with because she can’t harm him no matter how much she hit him.
Whether it was striking Goldwyn’s metal claws or his golden body, it always led to the creation of sparks. No matter how much she attacked him, nothing came out of it.
It truly felt as if his whole body was made of metal, which wasn’t surprising to Arthur because the full release state of the Armament grants defense too.
But Arthur noticed something odd about Goldwyn. It was that the attacks that got close to his body lost their power just before they struck him.
In the case of the lady’s swords, the energy she had attached to the swords to enhance their power was stripped away from the swords before they could hit Goldwyn. This led to a loss of 50% of their power.
Arthur saw this and thought to himself, "If this is an ability he can use anyhow, it would explain how he was able to beat my record in the fighting excellence test."
He has finally seen how Goldwyn broke his record. It is something he has been thinking about because back when he created the record, he had relied on the three times boost from Mountain Karma to do so.
Goldwyn didn’t have the boost of Mountain Karma. His armament only grants a two times boost, so it should have been more difficult for him to break the record.
He thought that Goldwyn made up for the lack of power with his superior fighting experience. Now Arthur can see that not only did Goldwyn have more fighting experience than him and also possesses an ability that weakens his enemies.
He doesn’t know the full extent of Goldwyn’s weakening ability is and what it can work on, but he believes that the ability must have had a lot to do with Goldwyn’s breaking of his record. As he watched, the more his suspicion was confirmed.
Goldwyn didn’t care about defense. He was always on the offensive.
He was truly like a wild lion. He was even roaring as he let himself sink into the thrill of the battle.
The lady had to constantly protect herself because he was aggressive. So even though he had just two arms to attack with, he was slowly and surely pushing her to death.
The lady had an energy shield around her body to protect herself, but one hit from Goldwyn was enough to break it. However, she had to keep the energy shield on because of Jason.
It is clear that the energy shield won’t protect her from Goldwyn. But she had to continue to maintain it with energy because if she didn’t, Jason’s golden feathers would fall on her and quickly poke holes in her body.
Arthur noticed something strange about her too. It was that she could escape if she wanted to.
The more he looked, the more he saw that she was fighting to hold Goldwyn back. Without her, Goldwyn would be free to slaughter the group of people she was with. So she had to stand her ground to stop him from having his way with the people she was protecting.
But by doing this, she was putting herself in harm’s way. Besides, Jason was still above killing the people she was trying to protect. So Arthur wasn’t sure what use her sacrifice was going to be at the end of the day.
The group of fleeing disciples was running close to where Arthur was. He decided to not participate in the hunt because he wasn’t asked and because the two hunters are his competitors in a bet.
He wasn’t going to help them or interfere in their hunt, so he made way for them and let them pass. As they passed by, Goldwyn called out to him, "Prepare to lose, Arthur."
His voice was loud, so Arthur could hear it over the sound of weapons clashing and feathers of death falling from the sky and flesh sizzling as if hot oil had been poured on it.
Arthur decided to mess with Goldwyn, so he shouted to the fleeing people, "Surround them and beat them to death. You outnumber them."
Goldwyn laughed and said smugly, "Ah. Do you think they haven’t tried that? This is the best that they can do."
Arthur wasn’t surprised that the disciples of the Sword Way sect had surrounded Goldwyn and failed to bring him down. So he chuckled and continued on his way with Thor.
The two of them didn’t go far before they encountered another group of people.
It was the same sight. A group of people was being pursued by a disciple of the Blood Skull sect. But this time, Arthur recognized both parties, not just the pursuer.
The pursuer is the obsidian-skinned guy from the Blood Skull sect. He was chasing a group of people from the Dyson family.
The obsidian-skinned guy had transformed into a black and humanoid serpentine figure. He was weaving through arrows of light being shot at him by the people from the Dyson family.
The group from the Dyson family was working well together as a team. They used their arrows to block every escape route and made sure to hit him even though he was faster than them.
Unfortunately, their antics didn’t work much because he was too powerful. He could dodge most of the arrows shot at him because of his fast speed. And if he couldn’t dodge, he could block the arrows or strike them down with his claws.
