Chapter 98: Chapter 98) The rumors are true/ The shadows’ pack youngest pathologist.

"If you try to take her away from me, you will force me to fight you, Alpha Dylan. And you won’t like the other side of me, I promise". I told him, before I added, "You may be an Alpha, but that title would simply be a mere title if you don’t learn how to coordinate yourself and control your emotions like an Alpha. Of course, you have rights over your woman, but as far as I am concerned, Lucinda is not well".

"The actions she displayed are very abnormal and need further investigation. The hospital is the right place for that. So, no matter what you do or say, I will not let you take her away from this hospital. Everything that happens in the shadows’ pack, stays in the shadows’ pack!". I declared and turned away from him.

I walked toward the exit door, and after kicking it wide open using my right leg, I scolded nurse Barbara without bothering to look at her miserable state, "Stop whimpering like a little pup and get up this instant, Barbara! Go to my office and prepare all my medical equipment and bring it to me immediately in the isolation room! Don’t let me return to this ward and find you still on the ground!".

I left the room and did not look or turn back. Not at all.

I was heading straight to the isolation center that was located on the other side of the building, so that I could put Lucinda in one of the isolation rooms and have her safely subdued by being tied to the hospital bed, before she would wake up and injure someone, or maybe, herself and her child.

’I must meet with Alpha Anastasia as soon as possible, because this is a very serious matter. And I heard that she is leaving with the human president to the human city today. I have to hurry up and meet with her now, because I do not know exactly when she will return’. I thought to myself.

’Stop panicking, Rebecca. Breathe’. The gentle voice of my wolf, Rose, came through my ears. She always tries to soothe me whenever I am overthinking or panicking, or whenever I am overwhelmed by any strong emotions.

"Thank you, Rose". I said to her as I arrived inside one of the isolation rooms I currently had access to.

I went and placed Lucinda on the bed.

The bed was white, and was also thick and broad. Not that broad, actually.

After leaving Lucinda’s side, I hurried out of the isolation room, and in a few seconds, I returned and was holding bed restraint straps in both my hands.

Without hesitation, I walked toward the bed and began to use the bed restraint straps against Lucinda.

I chained her to the bed. I had to do this mainly for safety purposes, because if Lucinda regained consciousness and was still possessed, it would be a problem.

But if she wakes up and is not possessed anymore by any dark aura or dark energy, I will remove the bed restraint straps from her.

Until then, she is to remain like this.

"What is taking her so long?". Checking the time on my wristwatch, I hissed.

Just then, the door to the isolation room I was in opened up.

Nurse Barbara came running in.

She instantly handed over to me my medical kit box and quickly retreated, making sure that she was standing pretty far from the unconscious Lucinda.

I wanted to make her assist me after seeing what she did, but I just let it go and decided to handle everything on my own.

"You may leave". I said to her, and she did not spend a second more in the isolation room and left the room in a flash, as if she was running away from debt collectors.

Seeing that, I shook my head, before I muttered, "Only this is enough to make you behave like that, Barbara. What then is going to happen to you if you see an actual demon?".

I stopped looking at the door and turned to Lucinda, before turning to the window.

There was a chair close to the window, so I went and picked it up and carried it all the way to the bedside and placed it there.

I sat on the chair that was only a foot away from the bed.

Putting my medical kit box in my lap, I opened it and brought out the necessary things I needed.

Then I left the medical kit box next to me on the floor, and looking at Lucinda, I inserted the syringe’s needle into her arm’s vein.

I drew out some blood from her vein using the syringe. "This should be enough for an investigation". I said to myself.

I knew that it was a demon that made her behave like that, but I must investigate the matter to be completely sure. But before the investigation is completed, I must inform the Alpha and the elders about it.

They ought to be aware of what is going on.

Standing up from the chair, I said, "I will be right back". I left the isolation room with the blood which was in the syringe.

On my way to the laboratory, while passing through the hallway that had different doors leading to different rooms, I saw Doctor Philip ahead of me. He was facing my direction and was walking towards me.

I had to halt because it seemed that Doctor Philip had something to say to me, since he was standing in front of me. "Doctor Rebecca, there you are. You are the wolf I was looking for". He quickly said to me, and I found it funny, because the reason I was going to the lab was to meet him there.

He continued to say as I paid listening ears to him, "I heard that a patient behaved abnormally. The word has already spread around the hospital. They said that she was Alpha Dylan’s lover and that she was possessed by a demon. Of course, I don’t believe them".

"Then why are you here?". I asked him as I raised an eyebrow while staring at him.

He faked a cough with his right fist covering his mouth. He was looking at the blue and white wall as he replied to me, "Em, I wanted to confirm from you if the rumors are true. Since I also heard that you are in charge of treating Alpha Dylan’s lover".

"Yes. The rumors are true. Lucinda, Alpha Dylan’s lover, was possessed by a demon". I said to him, and he automatically stopped looking at the wall and looked at me, completely stunned.

"It- is it true?". He stuttered as he asked me.

I did not reply to him.

I simply handed him the syringe in my hand, and he collected it from me. At first, he did not know what I had given him because it seemed that his mind was lost somewhere.

"Doctor Philip, I want you to examine this blood. It belongs to Lucinda. Although I know that it was a demon that possessed her, I want to be sure that she was not infected by any rare or abnormal disease".

Doctor Philip nodded at me before he realized what I had said to him.

"What?! You want me to examine her blood?! What if I get infected or possessed too?!". He exclaimed.

"If you are done examining the blood, you can find me to tell me the results". I said to him and left his side before he could say any other word to me.

Before you guys begin to wonder, Doctor Philip is a pathologist.

Also, he is the youngest pathologist our shadows’ pack has.

At the age of 24, he was already a certified medical doctor and a pathologist.

Anyway, I was going to my office, as I wanted to take an IV drip from there.

I noticed that Lucinda’s face looked pale, so she needed an IV drip to at least help her regain her lost energy, because being possessed must have drained her energy.
