Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 530 - 529: An Outsider
Seeing Mr. Sterling leave like that, Felicity Sterling’s tears started to fall.
Has Serena Sullivan returned, and he no longer cares for her!
Mrs. Sterling, unable to achieve her goal, stared coldly at Mr. Sterling’s departing figure, as Felicity sobbed sadly. She called out "Mom", and saw Mrs. Sterling’s face was gloomily frightening.
Dinner began, except for Mindy Sterling and her son who were abroad, all the members of the Sterling Family gathered, and the old Mr. Sterling was very pleased. He brought out his treasured white liquor to have a few good drinks with his two sons.
James Sterling could handle his liquor, Simon Sterling didn’t drink much but was happy for the old man, so both accompanied him.
"Let’s wait for Mindy to come back, then our family can gather together."
Over the years, when the Sterling Family gathered for dinner, the old man felt a void in his heart, always feeling like someone was missing.
Now that she was back, he was naturally happy.
"The Sterling Family is finally complete."
When he uttered these words, Mrs. Sterling sneered slightly, "Dad, how can it be complete? Isn’t there still someone missing?"
The younger generation thought Mrs. Sterling was referring to Felicity Sterling, who was being punished outside, but the old Mr. Sterling understood that Mrs. Sterling was referring to Serena Sullivan and Wyatt Sterling’s biological mother.
He raised his grandson at home, and twenty years later brought Serena Sullivan back to the Sterling family; June Kane could not accept this, truly couldn’t!
"Rest assured, the Sterling Family will not go against their promises." The old Mr. Sterling spoke firmly, stating that he could decide to bring his grandchildren back, but regarding Claire Sullivan, it was Simon Sterling’s own choice.
Back then, Simon Sterling didn’t heed advice, trading the entire Sterling Family for Claire Sullivan, and even after such a long time, the old man still held resentment inside.
He disliked June Kane and didn’t want his son to be involved with Claire Sullivan again!
Due to these words, Serena Sullivan looked at the old man puzzled, feeling like there was a story behind his words.
She was momentarily stunned, then some food was placed in her bowl, with the First Mrs. Sterling smiling at her.
"Alright, everyone eat."
After the old Mr. Sterling spoke, the old Mrs. Sterling grew furious, placing her chopsticks forcefully on the table.
"What eating, while Felicity is still standing outside."
"She can come in once she admits her mistake." When the old Mr. Sterling said this, he looked diagonally at Mrs. Sterling.
For something she didn’t do, Felicity Sterling would never admit to any wrongdoing.
"Hmph." Mrs. Sterling snorted coldly, turning her head to silently observe Serena Sullivan, sitting between James Sterling and the First Mrs. Sterling, eating quietly, suddenly feeling annoyed, "Our Sterling family has been peaceful for years, I just don’t understand, why bring back an outsider?"
Upon knowing that the old Mr. Sterling brought back an illegitimate daughter, the old Mrs. Sterling chose not to get involved, but upon knowing that the illegitimate daughter was Serena Sullivan, she had to intervene.
The term "outsider" was extremely piercing, causing Serena Sullivan to stop her actions.
Not having grown up in the Sterling Family, her sudden return indeed made her an outsider.
These words prompted dissatisfaction from the others.
"Shut up!" The old Mr. Sterling commanded in a cold tone, "If you don’t want to eat, then go back to your room."
The old Mr. Sterling, as the head of the family, spoke with absolute authority. The old Mrs. Sterling angrily closed her mouth and again observed Serena Sullivan, who continued eating on the opposite side, putting down her chopsticks but not leaving.
"Mom!"
Mr. Sterling spoke up, and when he spoke, those aware of his relationship with Serena Sullivan turned their attention to him.
Mrs. Sterling feared he might impulsively say something he shouldn’t, as now Serena Sullivan was James Sterling’s daughter, and if she became Simon Sterling’s, she would have to move back home.
