Chapter 29: 29. Hell Bear.

A smile faintly appeared on Aaron’s lips as he read the details displayed in front of him.

Meanwhile, the ladies had a smile on their faces just like Aaron and the joy could be heard from the way they spoke as well.

"With this many crystals, we should be able to put them to good use," Aurora suggested.

"Yes, your Highness. I’ve seen a couple of the works of the finest blacksmiths in our kingdom, and I believe they should be able to use these crystals to craft spectacular weapons."

Unlike the humans, who were blacksmiths in the barony, the blacksmiths from the elf kingdom who were currently residing in the barony, were a lot more experienced in crafting swords using powerful mana crystals like the red mana crystals; and the ladies knew the barony could really benefit from the blacksmiths of their kingdom.

Aaron knew this as well and he couldn’t wait to see what the elves would craft once he and the girls returned back to the capital with their packs filled with red mana crystals.

Aaron watched as the girls continued to chat and giggle while grabbing as many crystals as possible. He did the same as well, and within minutes, everyone had completely cleared the small room of mana crystals.

The girls were pleased with what they had done so far and their smiles were contagious, but Aaron’s smile got turned upside down the moment one of his holograms detected a beast nearby.

He swiftly unsheathed his sword and Diana immediately noticed this.

"What’s wrong?" She asked as she walked closer to Aaron.

"We’re not alone," He replied and Diana didn’t waste a second before unsheathing her sword.

Aurora spun around to locate where the beast would emerge from and her eyes narrowed the moment she heard a low growl echoing through the chamber from a tunnel on the far side.

"It’s a hell Bear," Aurora whispered, and the bear growled with rage the moment it spotted everyone in the room.

The huge hell Bear was just as large as the Alpha of the hell wolf group that they had fought against a few days ago, and it was equally as dangerous as the alpha as well.

The hell Bear roared with rage and charged straight at the group with terrifying speed, but Aaron swiftly dodged to the side and narrowly avoided its fiery claws.

Meanwhile, Glimmer activated her camouflage skill and she disappeared from sight.

No one in the room could see her exact location aside from Aaron who had the same ability as her.

As for the hell Bear, the beast was huge but very very fast, and so was its attack. This bothered Aaron a lot as he tried to think of a way to eliminate the demonic beast.

"Aim for its legs and try to slow it down," Aaron instructed and everyone sprung into action.

Diana darted forward with her blade slicing at the beast’s hind leg. The hell Bear roared in pain and instantly turned around to swipe at Diana, but she dodged its attack in time to prevent herself from getting hurt.

Meanwhile, Aurora cast a water-based spell and doused the flames around the body of the beast. The beast snarled and its movement slowed slightly as the water hissed against its molten exterior body, but it still wasn’t enough to really slow the beast down.

However, it was good enough and it helped create an opportunity for Aaron to strike.

Aaron sensed their chance to strike, so he activated his {Dual Strike} skill.

And with the skill activated, Glimmer knew exactly what Aaron wanted her to do.

She deactivated her camouflage skill and appeared behind the beast while her fur shimmered to direct the bear’s attention toward her.

The hell Bear was surprised to see a bright flicker of light shimmering behind it, and so it turned around to find out what might have caused it, but to its surprise, the bear felt a huge pain when Glimmer lunged towards its exposed flank to sink her teeth into the molten flesh of the bear.

However, that wasn’t the only pain it felt.

Unknowing to the beast, Aaron and Diana had swiftly closed the distance between them and it, and then they struck their swords into the bear to cause even more damage to it.

The bear roared one last time before its body collapsed to the ground and disintegrated into ashes.

Seeing this, Aaron exhaled and lowered his sword. "It’s done."

"We did it," Diana added, but to everyone’s surprise, they noticed that the ground began trembling and cracks began to appear on the walls.

"The mine is unstable," Aurora pointed out in a panicked voice and Aaron instructed everyone. "We need to move out. Now!!!"

The group didn’t need a second reminder and everyone sprinted through the tunnels.

The walls shook as rocks fell around them, but Glimmer led the way and her holograms made it easier for her to know exactly where to go through to leave the tunnel.

The walls continued to collapse, and many rocks continued to fall from above, but luckily for the group, everyone made it out alive. And by the time Aaron and the girls reached the surface, the mine entrance had caved in behind them

Aaron leaned against a large boulder to catch his breath. "That was too close."

"Yes, it was, but we got what we came for," Diana replied while holding a cluster of red mana crystals.

She was exhausted and was breathing heavily just like everyone else.

Aurora nodded exhaustively in response. "Yes, we did, and now the crystals have brought us one step closer to reclaiming the barony."

Aaron and Diana agreed and the trio rested for a while before returning back to the capital.

The journey back home was uneventful but the moment they arrived home, something totally unexpected occurred.
