My Beast Evolution System-Chapter 33. An Unexpected Aid.
Meanwhile, Diana led the left flank, her sword flashed as she cut through the relentless beasts while Aurora cast a light magic spell that created a huge orb of light that helped to brighten up the battlefield.
But aside from the huge glowing orb, there were several balls of ice hovering in the air as well and each of these tiny ice balls slowly began to morph into countless ice spears before barreling down on the beasts, impaling any beast it came into contact with.
The battle continued, but the results slowly began to favor Aaron and his team more, and despite their efforts to ensure that they won the battle, the sheer number of beasts they were up against began to overwhelm everyone.
However, the end was yet to come because a deafening roar spread across the field and sent shivers down everyone’s spine, forcing them to turn in the direction of the sound.
The roar came from a massive beast that appeared from the forest and immediately charged forward while heading straight towards the city’s main gate.
The massive beast roared once more as its crimson eyes were locked straight on the gate, but then a notification from the system popped up in front of Aaron to display the beast’s details.
====
System Notification
Beast Type: Demonic Beast
Detected Specie: Skull Crusher
Threat level: Very High
====
The skull crusher was a massive boar and it had the ability to slaughter hundreds of people within minutes, making it the strongest beast Aaron and his group had ever encountered.
The boar roared once again, sending fear into the hearts of the people of El Dorado, as the battle had only just begun.
Aaron swiftly analyzed the situation they were in and tried to find a way for him and his team to win, but he noticed the beast barreling down and easily using its massive body to break through the barricade like a piece of balsa wood.
"Oh, fuck, we’re toast," A townsman uttered under his breath.
"It’s the end, everyone. Goodbye, cruel world," A second Middle-aged man joined the first in expecting the worst possible scenario that could happen to them.
However, Aaron didn’t share the same mindset as them. Instead, he focused his gaze and concentrated on the skull crusher.
"That beast is too strong. We need to take that thing down now!!" He shouted and Diana replied instantly with a grin.
"I’m on it," She charged towards the huge beast and moved to its left flank while Glimmer darted underneath the beast before biting onto its exposed flank, but she didn’t just bite the huge beast, she also ignited herself and the part she was biting in red flames, forcing the huge boar to wail in agony.
The skull crusher continued to charge forward but now its movements were erratic and sluggish, and Aaron used this to his benefit.
He swiftly seized the opportunity to leap onto the beast’s back and Glimmer followed right behind him. But while Aaron drove his sword into the beast’s neck, Glimmer, on the other hand, bit the beast’s neck, causing the huge boar to bawl even louder before thrashing wildly against the floor.
However, Aaron didn’t withdraw his sword from the beast’s neck. Instead, he drove his blade deeper into the boar until the beast could barely move its body; then Aaron pulled his sword out of its body before placing his hand on the beast.
He activated a new skill he had obtained, thanks to Glimmer’s evolution and a huge crimson flame ignited the huge boar, causing it to release a loud cry of agony.
The crimson flames consumed the huge boar and when the smaller demonic beasts noticed the huge boar turning into ashes, every single one of them scattered around the field as they turned away and fled into the forest, but Aurora wasn’t going to let them escape so easily.
She swiftly cast a spell and a large number of fire arrows rained down on the beasts. However, her attack wasn’t enough to take down all the beasts that were trying to escape, so Glimmer and a few townsmen pressed forward to take down any of the beasts that Aurora’s magic might have missed during the onslaught.
The newly evolved Kitsune let out a fierce bark as her flames ignited the battlefield while she dashed through the horde of beasts, leaving trails of fire that consumed the smaller beasts as well.
Aaron also fought alongside his fox and their movements became more synchronized when they struck down the demonic beasts together. While all these were happening, Thunderhoof suddenly appeared from the forest and helped Aaron’s men take out the remaining demonic beasts before returning back to the forest.
At first, the townsfolk were surprised by the stag’s sudden appearance, but they noticed that it only attacked the demonic beasts and not them, so they were grateful to the stag for helping them out, because unlike Aaron, Aurora, and Diana, the farmers and merchants didn’t have the strength and stamina to keep fighting off the smaller demonic beasts.
Although the demonic beasts were small, they were still quite deadly, so the townsfolk were grateful that the stag appeared at the right moment to save them.
Anyways, the slaughtering continued for a while but the moment they were done, a farmer swiftly called out to the young Baron after inspecting the forest to see if there were any demonic beasts hiding in it.
"Lord Aaron!! You need to see this."
Aaron didn’t waste even a second in questioning the farmer. Instead, he and a few other merchants and farmers swiftly stepped into the forest to see several dead demonic beasts on the floor while they slowly turned into ashes.
"What happened here?" A merchant asked and the farmer replied.
"I don’t know, but do you think Princess Aurora’s spell might have caused this?"
"No, I doubt that. Although the Princess can cast long-range spells, I doubt she was the one who did this," Another farmer replied.
"Then maybe it was the Thunderhoof that helped us a few minutes ago," A merchant suggested and everyone looked at the dead beasts once again.
With what they could see around them, everyone noticed that there was no severe physical damage done to the beasts.
The carcasses on the floor had no cuts on their bodies, but there were a few scorch marks scattered around on the bodies of a few demonic beasts, and this could only mean the beasts were either stunned to death or electrocuted.
But when this sudden realization dawned on the townsfolk, they realized that the stag might have actually been helping them fight the demonic beasts long before they even noticed it.
