My Beast Evolution System-Chapter 43. Arriving Home.

"Ha, ha. We... ha, did it," Aaron panted while trying to catch his breath.

Aurora and Diana were also breathing heavily. It might have looked like the fight had been an easy win for them, but the trio knew that wasn’t the case.

They had to be alert and extremely focused when they had been facing off against the alpha because if they had given it a chance to strike back, it would have definitely won against them.

Moreover, it had been a seven-against-one battle, so it would have definitely been shameful if they couldn’t win against the beast.

"Can we go home now?" Aurora asked Aaron while she was still breathing heavily.

"Yes, we can. We’ll grab a few crystals and head back," Aaron replied as he sheathed his sword.

The ladies nodded in understanding and everyone began to gather as many crystals as possible.

They knew they didn’t have to grab all the mana crystals right now because Aaron would still order a few scouts and knights to come around and gather the remaining crystals, which was why they were currently gathering only the ones they could carry.

As for the Frost Fang Wolf, Aaron decided not to go after it. Unlike his two magical beasts, the Frost Fang Wolf was a lot more territorial and ferocious than the other two.

The Frost Fang Wolf was a natural-born killer and predator that liked to do things on its own, without interference.

In its previous wolf pack, it had been the Omega of the pack and its strength was barely below that of the Alpha.

It had been living independently for a long time, despite being the Omega of the pack, so taming it right now wouldn’t be a good idea.

Aaron was still interested in meeting the beast again. He was hoping to bond more with it and obtain the ability to manipulate ice, but he knew that now was not the best time to do that.

The beast had saved them already, and that was its own way of informing Aaron that they were now even.

If Aaron were to suddenly intrude on the wolf’s personal space, he wouldn’t just be risking his life alone, but also that of the girls and his beasts, hence why he decided to leave the wolf alone for now.

With that out of the way, Aaron and the girls continued to gather as many crystals as they could, and once they were done, they decided to head back home.

Their descent down the mountain was a lot faster than when they were ascending it, and by the time they returned back to the city, night had already fallen, but the guards were still on alert, and they greeted them with relief.

Meanwhile, Luna couldn’t sleep, as she had been waiting patiently for them in the mansion. At the moment, she was even pacing back and forth, wondering when her big brother would be returning home.

However, to her surprise, Luna suddenly heard the front door of the mansion opening and her eyes widened in surprise the moment she saw that it was Aaron and the girls.

"You’re back!!" She screamed and hurriedly ran to Aaron to give him a hug. "Are you okay? Were you hurt?" Luna asked him a barrage of questions as she looked around her brother to see if he was injured or not. But Aaron found her concerns adorable, so he simply smiled and reassured her.

"I’m fine Luna, we all are."

"But what about the demon wolf in the mountains?"

"It has been taken care of," Aurora replied and Diana added. "Yes, it has, and now the only place left that’s swarming with demonic beasts is Winterfell itself."

"Winterfell?" Luna repeated curiously. "I heard that it was the first city to be overrun by demonic beasts, do you really think you’ll be able to get rid of the beasts in that place?" Luna asked Aaron. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

"We will, but now is not the right time to be talking about this."

"I agree," Aurora said while massaging her arms after placing the small sack of crystals she was carrying on a nearby table.

"Me too, and right now, I have a date with a bed that has my name on it," Diana also dropped the sack she was carrying before waving goodnight to everyone.

Aurora decided to call it a night as she headed over to her bedroom as well.

Now, only Aaron, Luna, and Glimmer were left behind in the room.

"You’re not going to bed?" Aaron asked Luna.

"I am, but aren’t you hungry?"

"Nah, I’m too tired to eat anything right now, but what about you? Have you eaten, yet?"

"Yes, I have," Luna replied with a nod.

"Good, a lady should always take good care of her body."

"Hehe... I tried to be a proper lady."

"And you’re doing a pretty good job at that," Aaron ruffled his little sister’s hair before yawning.

Of course, Luna noticed this, and so she told him. "I think you should head over to your room as well, everyone is probably asleep right now."

"Yeah, you’re right."

"Um, big brother?"

"Yes?"

"Can Glimmer stay with me tonight?" She asked while petting Glimmer who was currently in her arms.

She had been walking around with Glimmer in her arms for a while now and the little fox immediately fell asleep in Luna’s arms the moment she began to pet her.

"Of course, you can. I don’t see why not."

"Hehe... Thanks, big brother, you’re the best," The little girl giggled and walked towards her room after saying goodnight to Aaron.

Aaron watched as his little sister walked straight to her bedroom. Then, he began heading toward his room as well.

The moment he arrived in his bedroom, Aaron didn’t waste a second more before swiftly plopping down on his bed with a loud groan. He subsequently closed his eyes, and soon enough, he fell asleep.
