Chapter 52: 52. The Elves Wants To Fight.

Aurora’s expression softened and she glanced at the stream with a wistful but resolved look on her face. "I want to reclaim it, my home, my kingdom. Even if they do not say anything about it, I know my people wish to return home."

Hearing her words, Aaron placed a hand on her shoulder. "Then you have nothing to worry about," Aaron said before assuring her that he and his beasts would help her to reclaim her kingdom.

Aurora looked at him and noticed the smile on his face, so she smiled back as well and thanked him.

Time passed and everyone began to pack up as they prepared to head back to El Dorado. The sky was turning dark, so they knew they had to return home.

Thunder trotted ahead while Glimmer leaped playfully beside him.

As for Blizzard, the huge wolf walked beside Aaron while Luna mounted him.

"We should do this more often. I really had fun today and It was nice to see everyone together, just relaxing and having fun."

"I agree with you, Luna," Aaron replied and so did Aurora and Diana.

"Me too."

"Me three."

The four continued to chat a bit more while returning home, and when they arrived, they all went to their rooms after calling it a night.

Days passed and everyone continued to engage in one activity or the other. Of course, the conversation Aaron had with Aurora lingered on his mind during the past few days, but even he did not know how he would be able to successfully reclaim the elf kingdom which was far bigger and larger than that of the barony.

However, something unexpected occurred, and now Aaron found himself sitting at the head of the meeting table in his mansion. But he was sitting with an expression that showed that his mind was clouded by different thoughts, and this was thanks to the group of elven warriors standing before him.

Amongst the elven warriors, their leader was the one to step forward, then he began to address Aaron with the utmost respect.

"Lord Aaron," He began as he knelt before Aaron. "My name is Kain, my Lord. We have seen what you’ve accomplished in reclaiming your lands, and you have inspired not only your people but also ours as well, and now, we’ve come before you to ask for your aid in permitting us the chance to reclaim our home."

Aaron frowned as his eyes dropped to the map spread across the table. The corrupted locations of the elven kingdom were marked clearly on the map, and Aaron knew exactly where he would aim for first if he were to ever decide to reclaim the elf kingdom now.

He knew why these warriors had approached him, and it was because word had spread about how the dangerous demonic beasts residing in the elf kingdom had migrated to the neighboring kingdoms.

There had even been rumors about how the territory of the higher nobles in the human kingdom had been invaded as well. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Of course, this included the capital city of the kingdom, where the royal family currently resided.

In a nutshell, since all the dangerous demonic beasts had turned their attention towards these territories, the elven warriors believed now to be the right time to reclaim their kingdom, and Aurora shared the same view as well.

She was currently seated beside Aaron and she turned towards him to speak. "Aaron, Kain is right. With everything that is happening around us, I believe now is the best time for us to take back our home. If we can reclaim even a part of it, it will give our people something to believe in again."

Aaron glanced at her and sighed a bit before explaining what he had in mind. "I understand what you’re saying, Your Highness, but beliefs don’t save lives. We’ve seen how dangerous these beasts are and everyone in this room has lost someone dear to them thanks to these beasts."

What Aaron was trying to say was that he could see how much everyone strongly believed in themselves and their ability to reclaim the elf kingdom because it was mostly the weaker beasts that were currently residing in the elf kingdom. But Aaron also knew that aside from these beasts currently roaming around the elf kingdom, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a few dangerous demonic beasts lurking around the elf kingdom as well.

So, if he agreed to their wishes, there was a very high probability that he would hear that every single one of them had been wiped out because they hadn’t settled down to think things through and plan appropriately.

Aaron explained all these to the elven warriors, and the remaining warriors bowed towards him, just like Kain.

"My Lord," Kain spoke on behalf of all the elven warriors. "Please grant us our wish, for we are prepared to give our lives if it means reclaiming our homeland."

"Please, Lord Aaron," The rest of the elven warriors pleaded in unison.

Aaron’s gaze swept over the warriors and he could see the determined look on their faces despite how hard they all tried to hide their fears.

He sighed heavily, still feeling reluctant to give them what they wanted.

This was because, if Aaron decided not to permit them to leave, the elves would have no choice but to back down and stay within the barony, however, if they were to sneak out of the barony to try and reclaim their kingdom, they wouldn’t be permitted to step into the barony again regardless of whether they were able to reclaim the elf kingdom or not.

The tension in the room continued to rise as the silence stretched on until Diana broke it. She had initially been leaning against a wall with her arms crossed underneath her breasts while she listened to everything that was happening in front of her, but now she brought down her arms before approaching Aaron.

"You’re hesitating, Baron."

Aaron turned to her and asked with a stern look on his face. "You think I’m being unreasonable?"

"No, I think you’re overthinking," Diana replied bluntly and stepped forward to speak her mind in a firm tone. "These warriors are willing to fight for their land. If you’re worried that they’re not ready, then let me train them."

Kain’s eyes lit up with hope and even Aaron and Aurora felt the same way as well.

"You would do that?" Aaron asked and Diana nodded in response.

"Three weeks. That’s all I need and I’ll make sure they’re prepared."

Aaron frowned and rubbed his temples. "I understand what you’re saying Diana, but it’s not their readiness I’m concerned about. Any decision I make means that every life lost will weigh on me."

"And how much more will you lose by standing still?" Diana shot back. "You can’t protect everyone Baron, but you can give them a fighting chance. You demonstrated that with the farmers and merchants who helped fight for their city, now let these men do the same for their kingdom."

Aurora placed her hand gently on his arm and spoke. "Diana is right, Aaron, and so are you. Yes, while this is a risk, it is still a risk worth taking."

Aaron closed his eyes for a moment before exhaling slowly and when he opened his eyes again, his mind had been made up. "Alright, three weeks, but if I’m leading this, we’ll do it my way."

Diana nodded in understanding and asked. "What do you have in mind?"

Aaron leaned over the map and marked two specific locations within the elf kingdom’s borders. The Sylvan Glade And Silver Mist Lake.

"We’ll start with these two," He explained as he pointed to the two marked locations on the map. "Sylvan Glade is close and I heard it’s the best place to obtain hundreds of different mana crystals, so this makes it our primary target, as for Silver Mist Lake, this lake controls the water supply for the surrounding areas and it has aquamarine essence which can be used to create unique potions and weapons," Aaron explained and everyone nodded their heads in understanding.

Aaron had been spending the last few weeks studying everything that he could about the elf kingdom.

He had spoken to Aurora a lot of times during that period, and the two had discussed how these locations could benefit Aaron, his beasts, and any number of warriors he intended on bringing along.

This was the reason why Aaron knew a lot about the elf kingdom and which place to aim towards first.

Kain looked at the map and was pleased with where Aaron had decided that they should reclaim. "These are wise choices, my Lord," He complimented Aaron’s decision, but Aaron didn’t say anything in return, instead, he turned to Diana.

"You’ll be training these warriors. They’ll be needing discipline, coordination, and a basic understanding of the beasts we’ll be up against."

"Consider it done," Diana replied with a smirk.

Aaron nodded in response, then turned towards Aurora. "Your Highness, you’ll be preparing a lot more potions than ever before. You’ll need help with this, so please, gather as many hands as you can find. There are maids in the mansion with us, you can ask any of them to assist you if you want."
