My Beast Evolution System-Chapter 57. Reclaiming The Silvermist Lake.
====
System Notification
Beast Type: Demonic Beast
Detected Specie: Corrupted Aquatic Alpha
Threat level: Deadly
=====
The system notified Aaron about the Alpha’s status, and he swiftly activated his {Dual Strike} skill, which allowed him to easily send a mental note of his plan to Thunder, Glimmer, and Blizzard.
Knowing what was expected of them, Aaron and his beasts steadied themselves as they waited for the right time to strike.
The Aquatic Alpha unleashed a tidal surge that sent a huge wave towards the group, but Blizzard was the first to react by countering the Alpha’s attack with Frozen domain which immediately broke the wave’s momentum.
Meanwhile, Glimmer sent a series of fireballs and the crimson flames seared the Alpha’s side upon contact. The Alpha roared and brought out a few tentacle-like extensions of its body, aiming them straight for the elven warriors nearby. But Thunder charged in, and his lightning strike disrupted the Alpha’s grip, but the battle wasn’t over just yet.
Kain and his men noticed their chance, and they immediately launched a coordinated assault on the beast while Glimmer combined her fiery strikes with that of Blizzard’s icy blast to disorient the alpha, allowing Thunder’s electric attacks to immobilize the alpha.
Diana and Aaron seized the moment and charged forward to plunge their swords deep into the Alpha’s heart. The alpha let out one final, ear-splitting roar before collapsing, and it slowly disintegrated as its body floated on the purified water.
The lake’s surface began to become clear and the dark film on the water’s surface receded as the corrupted mana in the lake dissipated.
Seeing this, the elven warriors began cheering, but a lot of them were still breathing heavily after experiencing such a fierce battle with the strong demonic beast.
With nothing else to do, Aaron and everyone else camped close to the lake for the night, and as the sun rose the following morning, everyone watched the lake sparkle in front of them.
Its waters were clear and reflected the morning light, but Aurora knelt by the shore to take a good, long look at the lake. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
A few other male elves did the same as well, but this group of men couldn’t hold back the tears streaming down their cheeks.
"*Sniff* I promised myself I wasn’t going to cry if we succeeded in reclaiming back the lake," A male elf sobbed while trying to wipe the tears from his eyes, but more tears kept streaming down his face.
"You idiot, I told you to stop crying. Now, look at what you did, I can’t help but cry with you," His friend lamented as he cried along with the first elf.
"I can’t help it, the lake looks so beautiful right now."
"I’m so happy right now... Wueeh!!!"
"Wueeh!!!" All the remaining male elves cried out loud as well, not minding the fact that all of them were fully grown men and were currently in front of their princess.
Aurora smiled and chuckled a bit before returning her gaze to the lake. "It really is beautiful," She muttered to herself but Aaron placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Yes it is, and now it’s yours again."
Diana smirked and leaned on her sword. "Not bad for a day’s work,"
The group took some time to admire the lake and its surroundings, but after a few minutes, everyone began their journey back to El Dorado.
A few hours later, when the group arrived at El Dorado, they were welcomed back home with the loud cheers of the townsfolk.
Several of the townsfolk lined the streets and every single one of them had an expression on their face that was filled with gratitude and admiration.
Even the female elves who initially feared that their husbands might not return, now cheered loudly and were in high spirits, along with their children and a few elder elves.
Aaron dismounted from Thunder and his beasts followed him. He looked around the city in search of his little sister, hoping that he would be able to see her among the crowd, but Luna had spotted him first, and she swiftly rushed forward to wrap her arms around him in a tight hug. "You’re back! I was so worried!"
Aaron smiled and patted her head gently. Then, he hugged her fondly in return before saying. "I’ve missed you too."
Blizzard leaned towards the ground and Aurora dismounted from the huge wolf. She looked around and noticed how her people were cheering her name, along with that of Aaron and Diana as well.
A feeling of pride washed over her and she felt happy to see the look of gratitude on her people’s faces.
"It feels good, doesn’t it, Your Highness?" Diana asked with a smile on her face.
She was currently standing behind Aurora with her arms crossed underneath her breasts.
"Yes, it does," Aurora nodded with a smile and Diana was pleased with the princess’ words.
"That’s good, Your Highness, but don’t let this little success get to your head. We’ve still got a lot of work to do, but for now, we celebrate! Hahaha!!!" Diana walked forward proudly with her chest puffed up with pride as she strolled confidently to the mansion.
Seeing this, Aurora couldn’t help but giggle at how the beautiful dark elf said one thing but reacted completely differently to what one might have expected her to do.
The cheers and celebration continued for the rest of the day after everyone had rested their tired bodies in the afternoon.
That evening, Aaron met with his companions in the mansion’s study. He spread a map of the reclaimed locations across the table with Sylvan Glade and Silvermist Lake marked green.
"Reclaiming Sylvan Glade wasn’t easy and neither was Silvermist Lake, but with what we’ve accomplished today, we can safely say that these two locations are now safe."
Kain nodded with a serious expression on his face. "Yes, Your Highness, you’re right. Both our people and the people of El Dorado have been inspired by what we did today. They’re starting to believe that we can really take back our kingdom."
Aaron leaned back in his chair and stared at the map with a thoughtful gaze. "We’ve made progress, but we can’t let our guard down yet. We’ll give the warriors a few days to rest before deciding on what to do next."
