Chapter 59: 59. A Growing Army.

While Aaron read through his status and the details of his newly acquired skills that popped up before him, Luna also noticed the huge change in Blizzard and she couldn’t help but voice out her thoughts.

"Big brother, did Blizzard just...?"

"Yep."

"Woah!!" The little girl’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she marveled at the things just saw happen to Blizzard.

Glimmer and Thunder also inspected the changes they could see in the large wolf, and of course, Blizzard was enjoying the attention he was receiving as everyone gathered around him. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

They continued to inspect his body until Aaron decided that it was time for them to return back to the city.

The following day, Aaron gathered his companions in the library to discuss their next move. The map of the elf kingdom was laid out before them and the remaining corrupted locations were marked in red.

"We’ve reclaimed the glade and the lake," Aaron reminded them all. "But the rest of the kingdom is still occupied by beasts. We’ll need to plan our next step carefully."

Aurora nodded before adding as well. "There are places we can focus on next, but we need to strengthen our forces first because the scouts said that the beasts occupying these locations are more dangerous than any other beast we’ve faced before."

After listening to what Aurora said, Kain stepped forward to speak. "Lord Aaron, more elves are willing to join the fight. I believe that with training, they could strengthen our forces tremendously."

Diana nodded and crossed her arms. "Then, we’ll need supplies," She said before turning towards Aaron.

He glanced at everyone in the room and nodded his head in understanding. "Then let’s get to work. The kingdom isn’t going to reclaim itself."

Everyone nodded in understanding before leaving the room to get straight to work.

Later that evening, the group gathered in the mansion’s sitting room. The fire crackled softly in the fireplace as Luna passed around mugs of tea with a bright smile on her face.

Once done, she decided to sit close to Aaron with Glimmer sitting right beside her as well. "This is nice," The little munchkin sighed while sipping her tea.

"I agree, my body certainly needed this," Aurora added as she sipped her tea and let a contented sigh escape her lips.

Diana leaned back in her chair but she didn’t say anything. She simply enjoyed the warmth of the tea she was drinking while Aaron did the same as well.

The group sat in silence and everyone remained that way before they finally headed to bed a few minutes later.

Days passed and as it did, people spread news of Aaron’s latest and previous victories.

Word of the newly reclaimed Sylvan Glade and Silvermist Lake reached not only the towns within the barony but also nearby towns and villages of other noble territories.

This drew the attention of those other nobles, who were surprised to hear that a seventeen-year-old successfully chased away the demonic beasts roaming around his territory.

However, the nobles decided to silently watch from their respective locations.

Currently, Aaron stood in the town square, watching as a group of determined men from his barony stood before him with a look of hope and faith in their eyes.

These men were inexperienced farmers, blacksmiths, and instrumentalists. Unlike the more competent individuals who were skilled in their respective professions, these guys were seen as extras in their sectors, especially the farmers and blacksmith profession in the barony which were pretty much packed.

So, instead of just sitting back and doing nothing, these men decided to help their friends reclaim their homes.

It had been months since the elves arrived at the barony so it was no surprise to see that the elves had befriended a couple of humans in the barony already.

Now, these men were willing to do anything to fight alongside their friends.

A tall man stepped forward and bowed respectfully towards Aaron before speaking. "Lord Aaron, please let us join you in reclaiming the elf kingdom."

Aaron looked at the men standing before him but remained silent and didn’t say anything in response.

Meanwhile, Kain was standing beside him and leaned closer to Aaron before speaking. "My Lord, many of us have waited for this moment. To see our friends fighting along with us. I spoke to a few of them and I know that they’re ready to learn."

Aaron scanned the crowd one last time, but this time, he had a serious expression on his face. "Let me remind you that this isn’t just a battle. It’s a commitment. Once you join us, there’s no turning back."

He cautioned, but one by one, the volunteers stepped forward with a determined look in their eyes.

They weren’t worried about what Aaron said. Instead, they felt even more eager to fight with their friends.

Seeing this, a smile appeared on Aaron’s lips and he turned towards Diana, who was also standing close to him. "It looks like you’ve got more recruits to train."

"Oh, they’re going to learn, but they’ll learn the hard way," Diana replied with a smirk.

A few minutes later, the newly formed group gathered in the training yard with nervous looks on their faces as reality finally dawned on them that this would really be their first-ever military training.

"Listen up!!" Diana barked in a commanding tone. "You think you’re ready to fight, huh? Well, I’ll be the judge of that. I’ll only acknowledge you if you’re able to survive my training."

Standing behind Diana was Kain, and he stepped forward to address the gathered recruits. "I’ve been where you are and I’ve trained under Lady Diana. I’ve learned to fight, to lead, and if I can do it, then so can you."

The recruits who had been exchanging uncertain glances immediately regained their confidence after listening to what Kain had gone through.

Seeing all this, a smile appeared on Diana’s lips and she began to train them.

She started with the basics, which consisted of the footwork, stances, and coordination skills they would need to learn when fighting as a unit.

Of course, Aaron observed all these from a distance and he nodded in approval after seeing how Diana was pushing their recruits beyond their limits.
