My Beast Evolution System-Chapter 60. Training And Improving Bonds.
Several days went by, and Aaron continued to ensure that both Sylvan Glade and Silvermist Lake remained safe enough for anyone to venture into. He dispatched a small group of knights to guard each location and equipped them with supplies as well.
One night, Aaron noticed Aurora in the library, poring over old maps of the elven kingdom with a puckered face. She looked up as he entered the room and her expression softened a bit.
"Couldn’t sleep?" She asked and Aaron nodded his head in response.
"Too much to think about," He took a seat across from her before glancing at the map. "You’re looking at the remaining locations?"
"Yes, based on what the scouts have been reporting, each location has its own challenges, but with what we’ve accomplished so far, I’m starting to believe that we can handle it."
"You’ve always believed, and that’s what keeps us going," Aaron smiled faintly and Aurora’s cheeks flushed slightly as she looked away from him. "Thank you, Aaron. For everything."
"You’re welcome," The two conversed a bit more before calling it a night.
As the weeks passed, the recruits began to show improvements under Diana and Kain’s rigorous training. Their movements grew sharper and their teamwork became more cohesive.
This was mainly due to how close the newly recruited humans were with the elves, and this only helped to strengthen their bonds even more.
Aaron also spent time with his beasts as he helped them hone their abilities and strengthen their trust in him and each other as well.
During this period, Glimmer perfected her stealth skills while Thunder’s strikes became faster, and Blizzard’s icy control also reached new levels.
Of course, Luna also joined in on some of the training sessions and her laughter would always fill the air whenever she watched Glimmer playfully nip Blizzard’s tail.
After weeks of preparation, Aaron called the group together in the training yard.
The recruits stood in neat rows with mixed expressions of excitement and determination in their eyes.
"It’s time," Aaron said as his voice carried over the crowd. "We’ve trained, we’ve prepared, and now, we shall execute our plans. There are six locations left for us to reclaim," Aaron explained before turning towards Kain.
"Kain, you’ll lead a team. I’ll need you to choose your best men and reclaim these three locations." Aaron said, pointing at the map in his hands to show Kain the three locations he wanted him and his men to work on.
"I won’t let you down, Lord Aaron," Kain bowed, and Aaron turned his attention towards his own team, which consisted of Diana, Aurora, and his beasts. "We’ll take the other three locations, but this isn’t just about taking back the land. It’s also about sending a message to everyone around us. We’ll show them all that the elven kingdom will rise again!!"
The crowd erupted into cheers and their spirits soared high as they prepared for the journey ahead.
Smiles were present on Luna, Diana, and Aurora’s faces which showed how moved they were by Aaron’s speech.
The excitement was contagious as it spread to everyone in the training yard, and after a while, Diana turned towards the recruits and announced that their training would resume once again.
Diana and Kain worked tirelessly to prepare the recruits, and under Diana’s sharp gaze, both humans and elves alike pushed themselves to their limits and their weapons clashed ferociously during drills.
"Your stance is too wide," Diana barked at a young human recruit. "You’ll fall on your face if you keep that up."
Seeing this, Kain stepped in to demonstrate. "You do it like this," He showed the young recruit how to balance his body while maintaining his sharp thrusts and attacks and the young man nodded in understanding before adjusting his stance.
Meanwhile, Aaron observed all these from a distance with his arms crossed. He could see that the new recruits were making progress in their training, and he knew that it was only a matter of time before the once-disorganized group began to move as a unified force.
As the days passed, Aaron dedicated each day to training with his beasts. He wanted to not only obtain more bond energy points but also to increase their loyalty towards him.
While training with Glimmer, Aaron would toss a small wooden target into the air and ask his little Kitsune to aim straight for it.
Glimmer would ignite her body in flames before aiming a fireball with pinpoint precision, and once this was done, Aaron would then focus on improving her speed.
But for Thunder, Aaron would ask the huge stag to smash through thick logs of wood with his crackling antlers.
Aaron’s reason for doing this was to improve Thunder’s reflexes because he would usually direct him to change course mid-charge.
For Blizzard, he made the huge Glacial Alpha hone his ability to be precise by freezing targets midair before shattering them with his claws or any other skill that was capable of doing that.
Whenever Blizzard did this, Aaron usually noticed that Blizzard’s control was improving and his icy blasts were stronger than ever before.
Of course, Aaron’s little sister happily took part in these training sessions and the little munchkin was more than welcome to see and partake in their training.
In the evening, Aaron, Luna, and his beasts returned to the mansion. He was walking along the courtyard with his beasts by his side when he noticed Diana sharpening her blade.
"You never stop working, do you?" Aaron asked while sitting beside her.
"Someone has to make sure we’re ready, and besides, you’re doing the same but in your own way."
Hearing this, Aaron chuckled. "Fair enough, but don’t forget to breathe every once in a while."
"I’ll breathe once this is all over," Diana replied with a smirk and Aaron smiled back before asking where Aurora was.
Diana replied that she was in the greenhouse and Aaron decided to see what she was doing before heading to bed.
Once he arrived, he noticed Aurora kneeling and tending to a small patch of herbs. Initially, the herbs had been in a bad state and were on the verge of dying and wilting away, but Aurora transplanted the herbs and carefully nurtured them. Now, the rare herbs looked even better than they had ever looked before.
