Chapter 62: 62. Rock Bear.

Aaron swiftly activated {Dual Strike} and all his beasts knew exactly what he wanted them to do.

This was obvious when Glimmer instantly activated {Inferno Strike} and unleashed a stream of flames that forced the creatures back into their tunnels, but before they could get far, Thunder lowered his antlers before charging forward and activating the skill {Lightning Strike} that shattered the front line of the beasts.

Seeing this, Blizzard instantly used {Frozen Domain} to encase parts of the ground in ice which made it easier for him to trap the creatures, allowing Aaron and Diana to easily deal with the rest of the beasts right after Aurora had rained down a barrage of fire arrows.

Aaron surveyed the battlefield, and seeing that there were no other beasts left, he decided to keep moving.

But as the group moved deeper into the vale, the ground trembled violently once again, however, this time, the largest beaver mole emerged from the ground.

The monstrous creature was twice the size of the others and its claws gleamed like shiny metals.

A new screen popped up in front of Aaron and he read the details of the demonic beast in front of him.

Beast Type: Demonic Beast

Detected Species: Beaver Mole Alpha.

Threat Level: Brutal

====

Corrupted mana coiled around the large beast as it screeched and slammed its massive claws into the ground to send tremors through the area.

Several of the recruits stumbled, but Diana barked orders to keep them steady and focused. "Hold your ground and focus on the target!!"

The large beast raised its arm once again with the hope of slamming it into the ground and making it tremble again, but before it could do this, Glimmer darted around the Alpha while attacking the large beast with bursts of fire.

Blizzard froze the ground beneath the beast and large glacial spikes shot out of the ground to impale the large Alpha, but it still wasn’t enough to stop the huge beast, so Thunder aimed hundreds of lightning bolts at the beast.

Meanwhile, Aurora fired a barrage of fire arrows and ice spears and one of her attacks flew straight towards the beast’s glowing red eyes, causing it to screech in pain and thrash around violently.

Aaron seized this moment and he charged forward before summoning a huge frozen spike that shot out of the ground to impale the beast’s head, piercing through its skull in the process and causing it to collapse to the ground.

Seeing this, Aaron scanned the perimeter but noticed that there were no other beasts around, so everyone continued with their search for more demonic beasts and also for the source of the corrupted mana in the air.

It took them a while, but they were able to locate the artifact responsible for the miasma in the air, and once it was destroyed, Aaron and the girls turned their attention toward their next destination... Stonewood Hollow.

Just as its name depicted, Stonewood Hollow was a dense forest in the elf kingdom that had massive, petrified trees that looked like stone sentinels. Aaron and the girls looked around and tightened their grip on their weapons.

Currently, Aurora was walking beside Blizzard while Diana and Thunder were walking together as well, but Aaron suddenly held up a hand and signaled for the group to stop. Glimmer, along with her holograms, darted ahead to scout the perimeter and Aaron linked his vision with that of Glimmer’s vision, but he couldn’t see anything in particular.

The forest seemed quiet but based on his experience so far, Aaron knew that the deathly silence could only mean that something was watching them from a distance.

However, he couldn’t see any magical beasts nearby and neither could Glimmer, so instead, the group marched on.

They entered a clearing and the first thing everyone noticed was the massive rock that had been cracked in half.

"What could have done this?" A recruit asked, but just as he did, Glimmer growled while facing the massive rock.

Diana was the first to notice the reason and she immediately drew her sword. "We’ve got company."

The moment she said this, the ground beneath them slowly trembled and a large beast emerged from behind the rock.

=====

System Notification.

Beast Type: Magical Beast

Detected Species: Rock Bear.

Status: Angry

Threat level: Overwhelming.

=====

The Rock Bear was a massive beast with furs that looked like stone spikes, and its ruby-colored eyes were locked onto Aaron and his group as it let out a thunderous roar that echoed throughout the forest.

The Rock Bear roared again and its massive paws slammed into the ground, sending a shock-wave through the clearing. Aaron and everyone else scattered to avoid the impact before hiding behind the nearest tree they could find.

"That thing is huge," A male elf hiding behind a tree muttered out loud.

"But isn’t it a magical beast?" A human hiding behind the elf asked.

"It is."

"Then, why the fuck is it attacking us?"

"I don’t know, but it looks kinda pissed off."

"Then, shouldn’t we be leaving instead of staying here right now? An angry Rock Bear is the worst magical beast to encounter in the forest. If we don’t leave now we’ll be dead before nightfall!!" The human panicked, and everyone around him began to see the logic in what he was suggesting, but Kain was nearby, and he hushed his men before their mutterings attracted the beast.

"Keep your mouth shut before you get us all killed. The Baron will decide on what to do, so try to remain focused and be prepared for anything the Baron decides."

Meanwhile, Aaron wasn’t too far away from where Kain was. He was currently hiding behind a tree with his beasts close behind him, along with Diana and Aurora as well.

’What do we do?’ Aaron questioned himself in his thoughts as he tried to decide on what they should do next.

A part of him was interested in taming the huge magical beast, but Aaron didn’t want to risk the safety of his beasts and everyone around him.

Moreover, the bear seemed pissed off for one reason or the other. But the main reason Aaron felt reluctant to approach the Rock Bear was because of the threat level it posed.

Unlike any other beasts Aaron had encountered before now, the Rock Bear could easily crush them all in less than a second, so why hadn’t it done so yet?
