My Beast Evolution System-Chapter 63. Making A Choice.
’Why are you so pissed?’
’What are you trying to say to us?’ Aaron questioned in his thoughts as he looked around the clearing.
So far, since he had arrived, he noticed a few similarities between magical creatures and the ordinary creatures from his world, so he decided to check out for any similarities the Rockbear might have with a common grizzly or black bear.
He looked around the clearing even more, but this time, he noticed a few claw marks on the trees.
However, these marks weren’t a result of two bears clashing against each other. Instead, they were deliberately carved on the trees; they were mostly likely done by the Rockbear in front of them.
’It seems like we’ve stepped into your territory and we’re not welcome.’
’I understand this now, but why the aggression?’
’It is way bigger and stronger than us, it doesn’t need to do all these to scare us away.’
’A simple roar should have been enough to warn us of its presence, so why do all these?’
’Unless we’re not its target,’
’Then who is it sending a message to?’
’A predator?’
’No, I doubt that.’
’Then maybe, it’s a different Rockbear?’ Aaron looked at the eyes of the beast, but the large bear had its eyes locked on Aaron’s men and not on a possible bear that might just be a little far from their location.
’No, there’s no Rockbear nearby.’
’It’s definitely focused on us.’
’So, what do we do?’ Aaron wondered.
’Come on, show me something I’m not seeing. Anything will be fine. Just show me...’ Aaron paused when he suddenly noticed the fresh scars on the Rockbear.
’You’re hurt?’
’But how did a big guy like you get hurt,’
Just as this thought came to mind, Glimmer and Blizzard growled behind Aaron and he turned around to see a pack of bloodthirsty jackals charging in their direction.

The bloodthirsty jackals were a lot similar to dark hounds, but these guys were fast and extremely dangerous compared to them.
They feasted on anything they could see, and this meant that Aaron and his group weren’t an exception.
Diana swiftly tightened her grip on her sword and she charged towards the jackals in front of her, followed by Glimmer.
Thunder, Blizzard, and Aurora joined the fight as well, however, the screams of a few recruits echoed within the forest.
Many were injured, but their injuries weren’t too serious.
Meanwhile, Aaron easily took care of the jackals that charged toward him, but he noticed a lot of them aiming straight for the large bear.
Of course, the Rockbear was able to easily handle the threat in front of him, but judging by how the bear had a lot of jackals surrounding him, Aaron concluded that the scent of the blood on the bear must have attracted the jackals toward him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
A few minutes passed, and the sound of growling and screaming died down, and all that remained was the familiar eerie silence of the forest, along with the soft rustling of leaves in the wind.
Aaron leaned against a tree to catch his breath and he looked around him to see the remains of the Bloodthirsty Jackals scattered around the forest.
A few recruits groaned in agony, but Aurora swiftly distributed vials of healing potions to the injured.
Aaron wiped the sweat from his forehead then he turned his attention to the Rockbear. He noticed how the massive beast slumped against a boulder, looking completely exhausted and worn out, but unlike before, Aaron could now see the cracked, stony hide of the bear, which was covered in blood.
The Rockbear slowly rose to its feet and then tried to return to its den, but with the massive injuries it had sustained, the huge beast could barely walk and was instead trying its best to limp its way back home.
Aaron slowly trailed behind the beast and when Diana noticed this, she called out to him, but he told her to stay behind and help Aurora heal the injured.
At first, Diana didn’t want to stay behind and leave him alone with the Rockbear, but she decided to stay behind when she noticed Glimmer trotting beside him.
Meanwhile, the Rockbear crashed to the ground and couldn’t stand up anymore, even though its den was just about ten steps in front of it.
Aaron cautiously approached the bear, but the creature was too busy making a low growling sound, almost as though it was trying to communicate with someone.
The Rockbear had lost a lot of blood and its injuries were a lot more severe than Aaron had expected them to be.
Aaron knew that if he decided to heal the beast, there was a high chance he would sacrifice a high amount of bond energy points to heal it, but he wasn’t worried about this, instead, he was more concerned about the beast turning on him and Glimmer.
He could sacrifice the beast energy points he had, also, he really wanted to have a beast whose threat level was overwhelming.
It went without saying that the Rockbear was definitely the strongest beast he had ever encountered, and if the Rockbear could be a companion of his, the barony’s military force would definitely rival that of the royal family.
Of course, Aaron knew that if such a thing happened, he would be an object of envy and hatred among other nobles within the kingdom, but he wasn’t bothered by this, and all he wanted right now was to have the Rockbear at his side and that was what he was going to aim for.
So, with his mind made up on what he wanted to do, Aaron knelt before the Rock Bear and a faint glow surrounded his hands.
He channeled his bond energy into the bear and at first, the huge bear tensed when it felt Aaron’s hand on its body, but as a warm feeling began to course through it, the huge bear slowly began to feel relaxed.
A few minutes later, a contented sigh escaped the bear’s mouth and Aaron’s lips widened into a smile, but then, something unexpected occurred.
A foreign feeling hit him.
It was a surge of different emotions flooding into his body. The emotions ranged from fear to rage to sorrow, but just before he could make sense of it all, Aaron’s vision suddenly blurred, and he noticed that he was no longer in the forest.
