Chapter 64: 64. Voice.

Aaron found himself in a place surrounded by rocks. He looked at his hands and feet, trying to make sense of what had happened to him, but then he noticed that in front of him, there was a smaller version of a Rockbear, but this Rockbear was still bigger than any of the beasts he had successfully tamed.

Although the bear wasn’t the only thing he could see in front of him, it turned out that the bear was actually facing off against a monstrous serpent.

The serpent struck with terrifying speed and its venom-coated fangs sunk deep into the bear’s neck.

Meanwhile, Rockbear had arrived at the scene and it roared with anger before charging towards the serpent, but it was too late because the smaller bear had already collapsed to the ground by the time the serpent slithered away.

Aaron staggered a bit, but his vision faded once again, and when he regained his consciousness he found out that he had returned to the present.

"What was that?" Aaron muttered in confusion while breathing heavily, but then he realized that the feelings of anger, hatred, and sorrow weren’t from him but from the Rockbear in front of him.

Also, he realized that the smaller Rockbear happened to be the mate of the weakened bear in front of him, but this didn’t explain why the bigger bear had so many injuries inflicted on its body.

The serpent was the source of the bear’s anger, hatred, and sorrow, and so the Rockbear decided to settle the score once and for all, but unfortunately for the Rockbear, his clash against the serpent resulted in several injuries.

The glowing light from Aaron’s palms faded, and he noticed that the bear was fully healed now, but then, he heard the faint sounds of whimpering coming out of a nearby cave, which happened to be the den of the bear.

"You have kids?" Aaron uttered in surprise as he watched two small cubs peeking their heads out of the cave, but they remained still, unsure of whether to step out of the cave or not.

However, Aaron could feel that something was watching him, and he glanced back at the bear in front of him to find a pair of ruby-red eyes staring back at him.

Aaron felt his heart clench once again because he could feel the hatred oozing from the large bear, and he knew that if he made any wrong move in this situation, the bear would crush both him and Glimmer.

And so, he raised his hands to show that he had no intentions of using his sword or making any rash actions.

Aaron continued to maintain eye contact while doing this and he slowly backed away with Glimmer by his side.

Seeing this, Rockbear slowly rose from the ground, but then it realized that its wounds had been healed completely and it swiftly turned around to check on its two little cubs.

Seeing this, Aaron finally understood why the bear had been so aggressive towards him and his team.

The Rockbear had been aware of its injured state, and it knew that it would be difficult to protect its cubs at that moment, so it tried its best to chase away any creature that might be a threat to his cubs, hence why it charged towards them even though Aaron and his team hadn’t actively tried it to make it feel threatened.

"Let’s go, Glimmer," Aaron patted his little fox before turning around to leave.

With everything he had seen so far, Aaron knew it would be difficult to tame the massive beast.

He would have loved to have a Rockbear by his side, but it might be too difficult to do so, especially since this one had two cubs that it cared so much about.

Also, it seemed like there was an even bigger threat to be worried about in the forest, and that was none other than the demonic serpent the Rockbear had fought against. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

If the serpent was still slithering somewhere around the forest, Aaron knew that it would only be a matter of time before he and his team encountered it, and if that happened, then there would be no one returning to the city.

For now, Aaron knew he had to think of a way to deal with the snake before it was too late.

Meanwhile, the Rockbear had finished inspecting the state of his little cubs. Both cubs were unharmed, and the huge bear was finally remembering that if it hadn’t been for Aaron, he probably wouldn’t be alive right now.

The Rock bear watched as the human and little Kitsune walked away, but while Aaron continued to contemplate what to do concerning the serpent in the forest, he suddenly heard a voice resonating in his mind.

"Thank you, human."

A wave of goosebumps coursed through his body as his eyes widened in shock.

He slowly turned around to look at the huge bear behind him, still finding it hard to believe that he had heard the voice of a beast in his mind just now.

"Did you just...?" Aaron wanted to ask the bear if he said anything to him just now, but a blue screen suddenly popped up in front of him, clearing some of the doubt he had in his mind.

[Congratulations to the host, you have used a total of 150 bond energy points to heal the Rockbear.]

[The Rockbear’s loyalty towards you has been increased by 15%.]

[You’ve also received an additional 15 bond energy points.]

[Your cumulative bond energy points are now 450 bond energy points.]

[You’ve also obtained two new skills.]

[Would you like to take a look at your newly acquired skills?]

’Yes.’ Aaron replied without hesitation.

[Beast Bond Vision:- This skill allows you to feel the emotions of your bonded beasts and to see vivid images of their recent experiences.]

[Beast Speech:- This skill allows you to communicate telepathically with your bonded beasts.]

"I... I can talk to them now?" Aaron slowly blinked twice as his gaze shifted between the notification and the Rockbear.

He still couldn’t believe that he could now speak to his beasts, but the smile on his lips showed just how excited he was to be able to speak to Glimmer, Thunder, Blizzard, and any other magical beasts he might meet in the future.
