My Borderline Supervillain-Slash-Hero System-Chapter 76: Fighting Prince Nahuel – Part 2
Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Fighting Prince Nahuel – Part 2
Shelby gave a subtle nod toward Zane. "Go all out," he said.
It wasn’t just encouragement—it was an order. An indirect way of saying: don’t hold back that monstrous load you’ve been suppressing. The opponent before him was strong enough to handle it.
Zane understood.
He activated Luminous Step once more and vanished from his position, reappearing in front of Prince Nahuel in the blink of an eye. This time, he didn’t just flick for fun.
He unleashed nineteen and a half tons of compressed force into a single flick of his middle finger.
"Childish!" Nahuel scoffed and slapped at the finger just like before.
But their strikes collided—
BOOM!
A thunderous shockwave exploded between them.
Nahuel was blasted backwards like a cannonball, tumbling across the grassy terrain before managing to brace himself. He knelt on one knee and clutched his tingling palm, shocked by the sheer impact.
One of the guards took a step forward.
Nahuel raised a hand. "Don’t interfere."
He stood up, exhaling with a smile. "You’re good. I take back what I said about you. Alright, kiddo... Let’s dance."
Zane smirked. "Finally."
The two fighters charged at each other, fists swinging with precision and raw force.
Nahuel unleashed a flurry of punches. Zane dodged effortlessly, weaving through them with grace. He returned with his own counter-blows—brutal and heavy.
Nahuel had felt that flick already. He knew better than to block. He evaded instead, barely escaping each time. Those punches would shatter bones if they landed.
For three solid minutes, they exchanged strikes—a fierce blur of fists, footwork, and feints. Neither had landed a decisive hit.
Then Nahuel switched his stance—he feinted a right uppercut, only to launch a sudden spinning high kick toward Zane’s head.
Zane raised his forearm just in time, blocking the kick with a grunt.
Nahuel saw the opening.
With the momentum in his favor, he launched into a rapid combination: punches to the ribs, jabs to the gut, feints to the face, and a series of high and low kicks meant to unbalance.
Zane was on the defensive now, absorbing the hits with hardened blocks, gritting through the pressure as he tried to regain footing.
Meanwhile...
The battlefield had erupted elsewhere.
The clash between the three Temple agents and the twelve royal guards had reached a new level of intensity.
Agent Kassam panted. "Why are we still holding back?! It’s three against twelve! Use your damn skills!"
Elizabeth and Barun exchanged glances—and nodded.
Kassam immediately began weaving hand seals and then slammed his palms into the cracked earth. His mana surged through the ground.
A glowing sigil web spread out in all directions.
The guards began backing away.
With a loud whoosh, the ground beneath them burst open and a giant shark made entirely of water surged into the air, glistening with deadly elemental mana.
"Water Clone Shark!" Kassam shouted, still pressing his hands to the sigil.
The magical shark swam through the air as if it were the sea itself, weaving toward the closest three royal guards.
"Explode!" Kassam roared.
BOOM!
The water shark detonated mid-air, releasing a tidal shockwave that slammed into the three guards. They were hurled like ragdolls and landed unconscious across the ruins.
Kassam grinned. "It’s not over yet."
He poured more mana into the sigils. Five more circular glyphs lit up around him.
"Water Clone Sharks!" he bellowed again.
The earth trembled. Five more magical sharks burst into the air, surrounding him in a spiraling vortex of water mana. Each shark snapped its watery jaws, ready to strike.
The remaining royal guards instantly changed their tactics. They recognized the danger—those magical beasts weren’t mere distractions.
"Don’t let them get close!" one shouted.
One of the guards spun and hurled his spear, channeling a surge of fire mana into it mid-air.
The spear ignited like a missile, piercing through one of the water sharks.
BOOM!
The shark exploded on impact, steam and scalding hot water raining down.
The other guards scattered to avoid being drenched in the boiling splash.
The remaining royal guards saw the success of their comrade’s flaming spear and followed suit. One by one, they hurled their weapons, each imbued with elemental mana.
Burning spears streaked through the air, intercepting the magical water sharks mid-flight.
BOOM! BOOM!
Explosions rang out across the ruined city, and hot, steaming water rained over the shattered landscape.
All of Kassam’s summoned sharks were destroyed.
"Damn it!" Kassam cursed. "You two—what are you doing?! Use your skills already!"
"Chill out, bro. Leave the rest to me," said Agent Barun calmly.
He wove a complex series of hand seals, mana swirling around him. He lifted his right foot and slammed it into the earth.
"Magical Earth Spell!" he declared.
A deep rumble followed.
"The fight ends here. A hundred meters around me is now my domain."
Kassam rolled his eyes. "Enough with the theatrics—just take them down already."
Fueled by urgency, he poured the rest of his mana into the ground. Fifteen more water clone sharks erupted from the sigils, roaring through the air.
Just as one royal guard prepared to throw another spear, the earth beneath his feet shifted, rising abruptly into a cuboid column that lifted him several meters into the air.
"Wh—!?"
He lost his balance and tumbled off the platform.
CRASH!
One of the sharks smashed into him mid-air, detonating into a torrent of water and earth debris.
The same fate awaited others.
The battlefield transformed into a shifting terrain, rising and falling at Agent Barun’s whim. Jagged earth spikes jutted upward, ground plates tilted violently, and sinkholes opened without warning.
In the chaos, Kassam’s water sharks hunted the staggered guards one after another, blasting them into unconscious heaps.
Within minutes, all twelve guards were down.
Kassam, panting, unsheathed his sword. "Let’s finish them."
Agent Elizabeth stepped in front of him, her tone sharp. "Don’t. We’re here for the mission—not a massacre."
Kassam glared but held back.
Meanwhile, the sounds of spells and explosions had drawn Zane’s and Nahuel’s attention. Their duel paused for a brief moment as they watched the scene unfold.
Nahuel’s expression darkened at the sight of his elite guards lying defeated.
He turned to the three still by his side. "Go. Show them what elite truly means."
The three guards stepped forward, each wielding a unique weapon: twin throwing blades, a longsword, and a polearm with a heavy axe-blade at one end.
The clash resumed—three agents versus three elite warriors.
But now, Kassam and Barun were clearly low on mana. Their earlier spells had drained them dry.
Only Elizabeth remained untouched in her reserves, though she had yet to unleash her magic—holding back, calculating.
Zane turned his gaze back to Nahuel and smirked. "Your guards are like paper tigers. Ready to pick up where we left off, brother-in-law?"
Without waiting for a reply, he lunged forward and threw a straight punch.
Nahuel dodged and countered with a swift uppercut. Their clash reignited in a dance of fists and footwork.
Zane matched him punch for punch, his style rooted in power and technique. But he lacked Nahuel’s mastery of kicks, giving the prince a tactical edge.
After a dozen exchanges, Nahuel found his opening—he spun into a brutal kick that landed squarely in Zane’s stomach.
THUD!
Zane stumbled back, coughing up a mouthful of blood, clutching his abdomen.
"Zane!" Erlin cried, her fury boiling over. "Stupid Nahuel! I hate you!"
Her voice cut through the air like a blade.
Nahuel’s fist paused mid-swing, hesitating.
That split second was all Zane needed.
He gritted his teeth and gathered his strength. Mana surged through his body. He launched a full-force punch, channeling nearly 20 tons of weight into his strike.
BOOM!
His fist connected squarely with Nahuel’s chest.
The prince was sent flying.
He crashed into the ground, tumbling over broken rubble before skidding to a stop. Groaning, he clutched his ribs—multiple bones cracked from the sheer force of Zane’s punch.
As he tried to push himself up, Erlin appeared beside him, kneeling down gently. She brushed the dust from his shoulder and scolded softly, "Foolish brother. Why are you getting sloppy in the middle of a fight? This one goes to Zane. Stay down."
She turned her head and called out, "Guards! Your master is injured and clearly in pain. Attend to him!"
The three royal guards immediately pulled away from their battle and rushed to the prince’s side. They knelt respectfully.
"Your Highness, are you all right?"
Nahuel raised a hand, brushing his sister’s cheek with a faint smile. "My little angel... all grown up. And she’s brought a strong husband home. Argh..." He winced dramatically, milking the moment. Truthfully, he could still fight, but he knew his sister wasn’t coming back. This was his way of letting her go—with dignity.
Erlin gently helped him onto the lap of one of the royal guards. Then, with a warm smile, she reached into her pouch and placed a small metallic device beside him.
"A money-printing machine," she whispered into his ear. "Use it. Train hard. Get stronger."
She leaned closer, her voice dropping lower and more personal.
"Next time we meet, it’ll be me you’re fighting. You beat my husband once... I’m never going to forget that. And tell our parents—Little Erlin loves you both. But now, I want to journey beyond this world. I’ll return someday... with three grandsons and three granddaughters in tow."
She pressed a kiss to his cheek.
"Goodbye, big brother."
Then she stood and turned away, her hand finding Zane’s.
The three guards instinctively reached for their weapons.
"Let them go," Nahuel ordered, his voice low but firm.
The guards froze and bowed their heads.
One by one, the others approached the spatial rift.
The three agents stepped through first, with Sebastian chained and in tow.
Zane turned to Erlin. Their fingers intertwined.
Together, they stepped into the rift.
Only Shelby remained.
Prince Nahuel had already risen to his feet, his body straight despite the lingering ache. His eyes locked with Shelby’s.
"You’d better keep your promise," he said. "Don’t let anything happen to my sister." novelbuddy-cσ๓
Shelby smirked, lifting a hand in a parting wave.
"I will. And if fate wills it... we’ll meet again."
Then he stepped into the portal.
The spatial rift shimmered for a moment, then sealed shut with a gentle pulse, leaving behind the windswept ruins—and a silent prince watching the sky.
