My Charity System made me too OP-Chapter 173: Alchemy Ingredients II
The Wasp Queen let out a piercing shriek, her massive, chitinous body casting a shadow over the group as she hovered in place, her translucent wings beating rapidly. Her golden compound eyes locked onto Leon, recognizing him as the greatest threat.
With a violent lurch forward, she lunged, her razor-sharp stinger gleaming with lethal venom. Roman barely managed to raise his greatsword in time, intercepting the attack. The force of the impact sent him skidding back, his boots carving trenches into the damp, moss-covered ground.
Milim capitalized on the opening, launching herself like a cannonball, her fists wreathed in pure energy. She struck at the queen’s armored exoskeleton, but the blow barely cracked the thick carapace. The queen reacted instantly, twisting midair with terrifying speed and slamming Milim away with her spiked legs. Milim crashed into a tree, coughing as she struggled to get up.
"She’s fast," Roselia muttered, narrowing her eyes. "And she’s not fighting alone."
At her words, a swarm of smaller wasps emerged from the trees, their bodies glowing faintly with venomous energy. They darted toward the group, surrounding them from all directions.
Leon’s Sage Eyes flared to life, his vision instantly cutting through the illusionary shifts in the queen’s movements. Her true weak points revealed themselves—tiny gaps between the wing joints and the softer chitin along her abdomen.
"Go for the wings! That’s where she’s vulnerable!" Leon called out, his voice sharp and precise.
Lilian took the cue immediately. With swift, fluid movements, she dashed under the queen’s legs, her daggers glinting in the dim light. She hurled a poisoned blade directly at the joint of the left wing. The impact sent a jolt through the queen’s body, her flight becoming erratic.
Roman charged in next, raising his greatsword high before bringing it down in a devastating arc, aiming for the same weak point. The edge of his blade clashed against the queen’s carapace, cracking it further.
Milim, now recovered, snarled. "My turn!" She grabbed onto the weakened wing, her muscles bulging with raw power, and ripped it clean off.
The Wasp Queen screeched, her body spiraling out of control as she plummeted to the ground, her massive form shattering trees upon impact.
Before she could recover, Roselia took a step forward, extending her hand. A swirling vortex of fire formed in her palm, condensing into a single, spear-like shape.
"Let’s finish this."
She released the Flame Lance, the fiery projectile soaring through the air like a comet before plunging directly into the queen’s skull. The wasp let out one last, bloodcurdling screech before her body convulsed and went still, the flames licking away at the remains.
The rest of the swarm dispersed instantly, their connection to the queen severed.
Panting, Leon wiped sweat from his brow. "That was tougher than expected."
Milim grinned, rolling her shoulders. "Tough, but fun."
Roman sheathed his greatsword with a satisfied huff. "At least we got the Nightshade Bloom petals and some high-grade venom."
Leon nodded, looking at the glowing Nightshade Bloom in his hands. "One step closer to our potion."
As they walked back to Sin City, a man asked, "Just what kind of potion are you trying to create?"
Leon sighed and replied, "Up until now, all I’ve gathered are harmful and poisonous ingredients, so I might as well go for a Poison-type Potion—one that either makes the drinker completely immune to poison or grants them a temporary poison attribute to their attacks."
"I think that could work," Roselia said as she added, "As far as I know, even among Grandmaster Alchemists, there is no potion that can directly attack or perfectly integrate with a skill." She paused, deep in thought. "These kinds of potions are rare and usually require very specific lifeforms or catalysts to attach their effects properly." Find adventures on novelbuddy

Leon sighed. "Damn, there’s so much depth in alchemy," he muttered.
Roselia nodded. "Alchemy is very broad and deadly. There’s also a reason why some equipped alchemists can uncover the very truths of the world through their research," she said, looking at Leon.
"Though... that kind of thing is taboo," she continued. "Anyone who uncovers certain secrets is usually met with backlash if they aren’t ready for it."
"What kind of secrets?" Leon asked, intrigued.
She hesitated for a moment before explaining, "The secrets about manipulating the essence of life itself. No one truly understands it, and if you try to grasp it without the required level of perception, you’re bound to suffer severe backlash."
Leon frowned, deep in thought. The idea of manipulating the essence of life was both intriguing and dangerous. If alchemy could alter life itself, then there were bound to be forbidden techniques that no one dared to use.
"We’re not going that far," he said, shaking his head. "For now, let’s focus on our Poison-type Potion and see if we can create something entirely new."
Roselia smirked. "Good. You’re not getting delusions of godhood just yet," she teased.
Millim, who had been listening quietly, suddenly clapped her hands. "Alright, enough deep talk! Let’s go claim our rewards for the quest and gather more ingredients!"
They reached the Alchemy Guild in Sin City, where they turned in their Venomous Bloom Hunt quest. The guildmaster, an elderly man with silver hair and sharp eyes, examined the Nightshade Bloom Petals carefully before nodding in satisfaction.
"Excellent work," he said. "With these, you can make some high-tier poisons or even use them as catalysts for advanced potions."
Leon accepted the bag of high-grade alchemy materials and their 800 Ascender Points before turning to the guildmaster.
"I need information," he said. "Are there any known alchemists who have tried to create potions that grant a poison attribute or something similar?"
The guildmaster’s expression turned thoughtful as he said. "There have been attempts, but none were successful. Most ended in catastrophic failures, leading to either the death of the alchemist or the potion becoming unstable."
"Why do you ask?" He asked as Leon replied " hmm, I was thinking of getting one such potion pity there is none" he said as guildmaster nodded "indeed a pity , with it one could hunt the monsters that are weak to Poison" He said as leon nodded.
