Chapter 54: Plan

Caden was half-naked and his lower body was only covered by a towel. He was smoking inside the bedroom while they talked about the memory serum.

Lucas was a bit annoyed, not because of the smoke, but because of the way Caden dressed.

"Can you put on some clothes?" Lucas yelled.

She looked at Brie who had a red face so she understood quickly why Lucas was annoyed with Caden. She rushed toward the closet and took a shirt and trousers for her fiance.

"You’re so shameless!" Lucas yelled again, covering Brie’s eyes when Caden suddenly put the clothes in front of them.

She glared at Caden who seemed having fun of teasing Lucas.

"What?" He whispered. "Look at him. It’s too obvious he’s in love with that girl."

She rolled her eyes and gently slapped his shoulder.

"Don’t you dare look at that jerk or I swear I won’t talk to you anymore."

She heard her brother mumble to Brie. It made her smile. She just hoped the girl wasn’t that dense to know Lucas’ true feelings.

"I’m all dressed. Happy now?" Caden grinned.

"Asshole! I don’t know why my sister like you a lot!" Lucas ranted like a kid.

"But you like me a lot, too. Just admit it." Caden grinned.

"I like you better when we were six!"

She sighed. "Okay, enough! Come on, guys! We’re not kids anymore!" She yelled at the two.

She glared at Caden. "Enough of the teasing!" Then she turned to Lucas. "And you, stop whining! We have a more serious problem than your arguments." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Caden raised his hands in surrender. "Fine." He stared at Lucas. "Look, you know exactly why I’m teasing you. We have talked about it for a long time so you have to do it now or you’ll regret it later." He warned.

Lucas didn’t talk back, and just glanced at Brie who was quietly sitting on the sofa.

She’s helpless. Was she always that ignorant? She thought to herself.

"Let’s go back to our topic. About the serum."

Caden crossed his arms on his chest as they waited for Lucas’s next words.

"The clients are not just from the underground. There are wealthy and popular people who actually getting a supply of that serum."

Caden frowned. "Are you saying people like the upper class?"

Lucas nodded. "Business tycoons, celebrities, athletes, even politicians."

"Did you find out the biggest purchaser of the serum?" Caden asked.

"I found it." Brie answered.

"Really? You’re so amazing!" Lucas excitedly complimented Brie, making the latter blush.

She shook her head at Caden to stop him from teasing the two and she was glad that he nodded in agreement.

"Y—Yes, I just found out now. Here’s the list." Brie turned her laptop around to show them.

"That’s a lot." She said.

Caden smirked. "That’s the reason the Trekker Clan could still continue their operations. They have a lot of big-time patrons backing them up."

"So, what’s your plan?" Lucas asked.

Caden took his cigarette out and then looked at her brother.

"We need to get involved with their operation." He said.

"Meaning?" She asked.

"Meaning, we have to be one of their customers. We need to find out where the money is being deposited. So Brie could hack the account and take it." Caden answered.

She was still new to these kinds of things. Brie seemed relaxed and okay with everything. Maybe because she was born in the Santelmo Clan’s side and spent four years with them so she’s already used to with the Mafia’s operation.

"And how can we do it?" Lucas asked.

"We have to find the dealer. But we need someone that they would not suspect to transact with him." Caden answered.

"And who would that be?" Lucas asked again.

Caden didn’t answer and was in deep thought. Then he clicked his tongue once more.

"I’ll do it. I just have to put on a disguise so no one would recognize me. And besides, I don’t think Benjamin is that reckless to be the dealer himself. Not everyone in the Trekker Clan knows me especially those who are based here." Caden said.

"But we just announced our engagement two weeks ago. What if they were watching that day?" She asked in a worried tone.

Caden smiled to lessen her worries. "You haven’t seen me in disguise yet. I’m good at acting." He winked.

She looked at Lucas, trying to ask him to stop Caden but he just nodded at her.

"I think he’ll be fine. He’s a mafia boss so it’s his forte." Lucas commented.

Then they heard a knock on the door before Elijah walked inside. Caden sighed seeing his cousin with fear in his eyes.

"I’m not mad, Elijah. I was just surprised. Shocked maybe the exact description of it. Is she with you?" Caden asked, talking about Mireya.

Elijah nodded. "We heard about the memory serum. She’s worried so she wanted to come with you. But I also need to come since I’m the only one who can communicate with her."

She glanced at Caden. "I think you should agree with it."

"And what can they do? They will just get in my way." Caden commented.

Elijah stepped forward. "She can look around the place if you’ll meet with the dealer. I’m pretty sure they have a meeting place, right? Ahm... That’s what she said."

Caden couldn’t believe what Elijah or rather what Mireya suggested. But for her, it felt weird getting help from a ghost.

"What do you think?" Caden asked, looking at her and then Lucas.

Lucas also was hesitant to answer and just shrugged his shoulders.

"I think that’s a good idea. If we need someone who can look around the area without getting noticed, it’s crazy I know, but Mireya can do that." She commented.

Caden sighed. "Fine. You’ll come with me in Willow Green so you can learn how to shoot."

"Got it." Elijah excitedly replied.

Then Caden turned to Lucas. "Can A.E and Brie search for the people behind the memory serum? Maybe there’s still one person left who knows about the serum."

Lucas and Brie nodded. "Don’t worry about it. We’ll take care of it."
