My Players Are So Fierce-Chapter 335:
The next morning, the Carpe merchant convoy set out again.
The place where they were ambushed was at the Transia border but not too far from the forests of Seicob territory. Therefore, under Countess Sharon’s mobilization, mountain riders arrived at dawn with pack horses to replace the convoy’s horses, allowing them to continue towards the planned “industrial zone” in the Anderma Hills.
As the factory director of the “First National Armament Factory of Transia” appointed by Murphy, Brother Loyalty naturally had to accompany them to set up his “precious” production line.
And as the nominal ruler of Anderma Hills, Countess Femis also had to go along to witness the momentous occasion of Transia’s first factory being built in her territory after the Ten-Year War.
Femis wasn’t interested in Sharon’s invitation to witness this. In fact, Murphy could clearly sense that the young lady was somewhat resistant to participating in this ceremony.
When Murphy inquired, Femis didn’t hide anything.
In a shadow under the sunlight, she pouted and explained to Murphy:
“When Lord Payne helped me complete the Silver Trial, he also taught me how to use the unique ability formed after the Life Seed was contaminated by blood. This is considered my exclusive talent, it’s great and powerful but it has side effects.
Every time I mobilize the power of the Blood Life Seed, I hear Avalon whispering to me. Lord Payne told me this is just the echo of divine objects releasing power, and doesn’t mean the Nature God is actually watching over me, a vampire.
But you know, having some sneaky voice constantly muttering in your ear really feels terrible!”
The young lady sighed and said:
“So I think I should stay away from anything related to Avalon, to prevent my ‘auditory hallucinations’ from getting worse. Plus, I got quite a bit of information from my deranged mother this time, I need some time to properly sort through it.
I won’t join you all playing games with the mountain folk in the forest.
Let’s meet again at the Crimson Citadel later.”
“That works.”
Murphy nodded, and took the opportunity to remind the young lady:
“You can stay in your territory for a few more days. Earlier I heard Lady Lainnia say that some Wolfsbane remnants who fled from the Cato region are hiding in the sparsely populated Anderma Hills. You can go capture them if you have nothing else to do.”
“Capture? Not hunt down?”
Femis blinked and asked:
“What are you planning to do? I guess it’s related to the Korando sisters who just ‘joined us’?”
“More or less. The main forces of the Greyclaw faction have all died in the sewers of the Crimson Citadel, they’ve become monkeys with nowhere to go after the big tree fell.”
Murphy shrugged and said casually:
“The Korando sisters have unique identities, perhaps we can use them to bring those stranded thugs under our control.
Most importantly, as our warriors further master combat skills, the intensity of fights at the fighting club has been rising steadily. The original gladiators are no longer sufficient, and the Greyclaw faction still has some remnants in the Cato region with nowhere to go.
What I mean is, when we’re not yet affluent enough, we should make reasonable use of all resources at hand, right?”
“Got it, leave it to me.”
Femis smiled and nodded goodbye to Murphy. Before leaving, she thought of something and said to Murphy:
“I plan to create a small organization. You know, like a small gathering of warriors I select for myself.”
“Huh? You already have warriors you fancy?”
Murphy said in surprise:
“Aren’t you very picky about this? I even heard Adele tell me that you said your standard for selecting warriors is based on her as a template. Frankly speaking, Femis, you need to lower your standards appropriately.
Even in another world, whether it’s appearance, figure, personality, talent or experience, Adele is truly one in ten thousand.”
“No, better none than poor quality!”
Femis shook her head stubbornly and urged:
“You’d better hurry up and recruit more outstanding talents from the otherworld, so my ‘Transia Spirit Mage Society’ can develop faster. You should know that my goal for my organization is to build it into Transia’s ‘Circle Tower’. Sigh, what a pity Tris absolutely refuses to join.
She keeps saying I’m just playing house like a child, so annoying.”
“That name is too formal, probably won’t be very appealing to my warriors.”
Murphy shook his head with a straight face and said:
“I suggest you change it to a more ‘approachable’ name, like ‘Earth Defense Force Command’ or ‘Council of Gods’, or at worst something like ‘Far East Aurora Magic Society’ or ‘Arcane Guild’ would work too.”
“Too exaggerated, Murphy, too exaggerated. I think you’ve been ‘contaminated’ by interacting too much with your warriors.”
Femis snorted, shaking her head very socially as if Murphy was already beyond saving.
She crossed her arms and spread her wings to pull herself into the shadow of her cloak, carrying the Night Howl Staff that was taller than her on her back, and looking down with a mature adult-like pose, she said to Murphy:
“We spirit mages should be more pragmatic. Speaking of which, while your swordsmanship has been improving rapidly, I haven’t seen much progress in your summoning arts. If you keep slacking off like this, watch out for Tris beating you up.
As a Spirit Sovereign, she won’t allow her apprentice to become a third-rate summoner parading around outside, spinning in circles and embarrassing her.
You’d better hurry up and practice.”
“I am practicing, you just haven’t seen it.”
Murphy retorted, but the young lady had already turned away without paying him any attention, flying towards the merchant convoy that had started moving forward again, and disappeared into a carriage.
The vampire lord sighed. Femis said he was contaminated by the players’ otherworld habits, but wasn’t she the same?
All that talk about slacking off and spinning in circles embarrassing people…
With your mouth full of otherworld talk, are you planning to take the graduate school entrance exam?
He said in his heart, then adjusted his appearance preparing to go to Knight Valand’s side to accompany him to the forest where the mountain folk were. As the governor of Transia, he had to be present to witness the small Countess Sharon re-signing the timber contract.
But after taking just a few steps, Murphy heard an exclamation from behind.
“Wow, you’re such a handsome vampire! When Frayzer said you were handsome I thought he was just bragging, I didn’t expect there would actually be such a beautiful-looking vampire on this continent.”
Hearing someone praise himself naturally made Murphy pleased.
He turned around displaying his most elegant posture to look behind him. Lady Becky, who had changed into hunting attire and was standing with hands on hips examining him, immediately waved her hand friendlily when she saw Murphy notice her.
She blinked her big eyes looking and looking, truly not afraid at all that the vampire before her would harm her.
The vampire lord wanted to say a few words to Kudel’s granddaughter before him, but in the next instant, his attention was drawn past this proud and energetic blonde knight maiden, his gaze seemingly pulled by some force to the female guard beside Lady Becky.
Black hair and black eyes –
These features alone were enough to indicate her extraordinary origins.
Looking carefully, it wasn’t hard to notice that this silent female guard’s delicate and exquisite features had a certain “Eastern feel”.
In her gaze as deep as a dark pool, Murphy could sense some higher level of “observation” that didn’t belong to living individuals. It was as if some force higher than reality was examining him through the perspective of the lady before him.
Murphy was very familiar with this feeling, as he had already experienced it three times before.
“Are you from the Ancient Calum Kingdom?”
Murphy asked:
“Are you from the East?”
“No, Lord Governor, I only have half Calum dragon bloodline.”
Knight Liwen answered in a light tone:
“I was born in the city of Nantes in Anju, and like you, I’m a true ‘local’.”
“But you have a certain quality that doesn’t belong to the mortal world.”
Murphy frowned and said:
“Your gaze makes my whole body uncomfortable. Don’t misunderstand, I’m not saying your demeanor isn’t lady-like enough, just… never mind, I’ll ask directly. Which deity do you worship?”
This question made Knight Liwen hesitate for a moment.
She reached to grasp a uniquely shaped pendant on her wrist, closing her eyes as if in silent communication.
After a few seconds, she reopened her eyes, and under Murphy’s astonished gaze, her originally black pupils transformed into snake-like eyes the color of jade.
In this instant, that sense of observation higher than reality became even more real, making Murphy’s hair stand on end. A prompt immediately appeared on his character interface:
【The Astral Realm Great Spirit, Guardian Deity of Calum, Lord of Storm and Sky, Origin of Dragon Bloodline, Astral Dragon – Ao is watching you】
“I knew it!”
That feeling of being watched dispersed in the next second, but Murphy shouted in his heart:
“I knew I would eventually encounter all the gods of this continent! The others are fine, but weren’t you, Astral Dragon, supposed to never step out of the Eastern lands where Calum is? Why can I meet your follower even in the center of the continent?”
“Wow, Liwen your eyes just became so scary, you frightened me.”
Not only Murphy felt surprised, even Lady Becky couldn’t help but grip the sword at her waist. Obviously, this was the first time her childhood playmate Liwen had revealed her mysterious faith before her.
“No need to worry, Lord Governor and Becky.”
Knight Liwen explained softly:
“My Lord is merely curious about you, with no ill intent. And I am His eyes walking in the material world, given the mission to come to Transia to record and observe everything that is about to happen here.
You can ignore my existence.
I promise you, I will not cause any hindrance to the endeavors you are advancing.”
“I believe that, you’re not the first messenger of the gods I’ve met.”
Murphy said in a low voice:
“If the Astral Dragon has any directives regarding me, please ensure I can know about them as soon as possible, alright?”
“Mm, but you need not worry about this.”
Knight Liwen said softly:
“My Lord’s footsteps have left the material world for over a hundred years. He is different from other grand spirits, He does not intervene much in the evolution of the material world. Actually I should thank you, my dragon bloodline initially awakened half a month ago, which was when Lady Becky accepted the commission to come to Transia.
This is enough to prove that receiving my Lord’s blessing was all because of you.”
“Hm?”
Lady Becky listened to her childhood friend say these things she didn’t quite understand. She blinked her eyes and curiously patted Liwen’s shoulder asking:
“So you’re a legendary dragon descendant now? When I was little, I read in grandfather’s notes that Eastern dragon descendants often had various impressive abilities. Liwen, can you fly?”
“Uh, no.”
Knight Liwen sighed and said:
“I wasn’t granted the power to command the skies, only bestowed the ability to manipulate storms and air currents, and even that is still very basic level.”
“Oh?”
Lady Becky’s expression became subtle, and she said in a low voice:
“So, when I was wearing skirts and touring around with Frayzer recently, those mysterious winds that kept lifting my skirt were all your mischief behind my back?”
“I didn’t do it!”
Knight Liwen denied with a straight face:
“I’m a knight who has taken the oath of justice! How could I do such vulgar things?
Becky, you’ve grown up with me since childhood, you should believe I wouldn’t do that… Ouch! Don’t tickle me, watch me counter-attack!”
The two young ladies then began chattering and roughhousing together, exuding youthful beauty, making Murphy look on helplessly.
This Lady Liwen appeared gentle and refined, but being able to play together with the boisterous Lady Becky, she clearly wasn’t some proper young lady from a noble family either.
But Kudel’s granddaughter truly was naturally beautiful.
Setting aside her “tomboy” personality factors, her appearance and profession would definitely spark a new wave of excitement among the little players. A blonde knight maiden from a noble family, with an energetic big-breasted airhead character setting…
Tsk tsk, those bastards will surely shout things like “damn the game designers are so good at this” and other crazy talk again.
“Lord Governor, I have something to ask you.”
Just as Murphy was preparing to quietly leave so as not to disturb the two ladies’ bonding through roughhousing, Lady Becky, who was using her arm to trap Knight Liwen against her chest trying to “suffocate” her, suddenly raised her head and asked Murphy with a serious face:
“May I ask where your Crimson Regent Miss Miriam is now? I need to meet her!”
“Oh?”
Murphy blinked his eyes and said:
“Why? You don’t have any connection with Miriam, right?”
“No connection indeed.”
Lady Becky snorted, proudly tossing her smooth golden hair. This young lady who could be called “beautiful” in every aspect declared loudly:
“But she has bewitched my fiance. Although Frayzer and I address each other as siblings, as a woman, it’s still hard for me to accept that my attractiveness was so thoroughly defeated by some country girl.
I just want to meet her, to see what kind of unique charm this ‘junior sister’ that Frayzer keeps thinking about actually has.”
“Ah, so that’s how it is.”
Murphy’s lips curved upward.
He suddenly felt this would definitely evolve into a very interesting and dramatic confrontation, the legal wife coming to catch the mistress, tsk tsk, there might even be a “duel scene” fighting over a man!
This is too wonderful.
So the vampire governor coughed a few times, and with a serious expression raised two fingers, saying to Lady Becky who was still maintaining her “suffocation” pose with her childhood friend:
“I can tell you where Miriam’s official residence is, I can even personally take you there after I finish my current business, but I have two requirements.
First, you cannot bring weapons to meet her.
Second, no matter what you plan to say to her, you must mind your manners. After all, Miriam is now a Baroness of Transia, she is also one of the administrators of this land. If you disrespect her, you’re disrespecting Transia’s face.”
“Mm mm! I just want to meet her, I don’t plan to harm her. Actually, she and I almost entered Shaldor Engineering Academy at the same time, we’re even classmates. I also need to visit Professor Malcolm along the way, to complain to him that his professional books are too difficult.
Almost made me fail the course.”
“Before you go make trouble for the Regent and the history professor, perhaps you should release Knight Liwen first, she’s about to suffocate!”
“Ah! Liwen, heavens, wake up! Don’t roll your eyes! You’re the first dragon descendant I’ve met, don’t become the first dragon descendant to die by my hands.
Damn it!
Wake up!”
Watching Liwen being frantically shaken by the shoulders by an anxious Becky, Murphy hurriedly stepped forward to “thoughtfully” suggest:
“Although I’m a vampire not well-versed in human first aid, I guess this looks like suffocation, so shouldn’t we move on to artificial respiration now?”
“Oh, right! Artificial respiration! I learned that at Shaldor Engineering Academy!”
A few seconds later, Murphy watched Lady Becky performing artificial respiration on the unconscious Knight Liwen, and he felt he was truly a genius.
This scene before him was quite pleasing to the eye, you have to admit.
But at the same time, the vampire lord was filled with a sense of guilt for “tricking a fool”. He looked with a subtle gaze at Lady Becky who was almost crying from anxiety, and Knight Liwen who was secretly giving him a thumbs up while still pretending to be unconscious.
He felt the interaction between these two best handkerchief friends was just too interesting. Hmm, so the rumored intimate slightly homosexual attempts that usually happen between close sisters were actually true.
Tsk tsk, the world of girls is really too interesting.
“Hmm, if I’d known you were so gullible…”
Murphy looked at Lady Becky’s smooth golden hair with gentle and caring eyes, saying in his heart:
“Perhaps I should have tried to trick you into selling your soul last night for a bag of beans. Lord Kudel will have his hands full soon, his granddaughter has clearly inherited his valor, able to achieve the feat of defeating a dragon descendant with her biceps.
Regrettably, this young lady probably urgently needs some wisdom infusion.
I guess her brain must be very smooth, filled with a kind of feminine ‘like new, 90% condition’ aesthetic. No wonder Lieutenant Frayzer can’t stop thinking about Miriam.
These two young ladies of similar age are completely opposite extremes.”
