What is a legend?

The textbook definition was a traditional story sometimes popularly regarded as historical but not authenticated. Yet, people were creatures of emotion. To them, a legend was a story that showed how a person overcame impossible odds to accomplish a task.

Elian took a moment to reflect.

Legend, huh? Quite the journey from someone who was called a defect.

Saving the world, slaying the dragon, ending the catastrophe. One may be a hero but not a legend; yet, every legend is a hero. A hero may die, but a legend never will. For, unlike a hero, a legend lives through everyone who remembers their tale.

Considering what Elian and Bianca wished to do, their story was worthy of legends.

It was only at this moment that Elian observed the body language of the army of human breakers before him. He initially thought that they were subservient because of Ned; still, none of them were looking at him.

No. If before Elian was neglected, ignored, and forgotten, now the powerhouses of Earth gaze at him with what could only be described as reverence.

The men puffed up their chests trying to look imposing, yet their bodies shook slightly as if they were anxious about making a mistake. Meanwhile, the women kept sneaking glances at his face, then gazing at Bianca. It reminded Elian of the fanatical fans who worshiped celebrities.

"… Just what the hell did you bastards write on this thing?"

"It's about 90% truth and 10% exaggeration. Considering how insane you usually are, even your actual feats sounded like lies. Katri took some liberties, but it's mostly your story," Ned said with a chuckle.

Bianca took the tablet and quickly scanned the contents. "Hmm. I will have a word with that vixen. It's obvious she tried to slander me—the character is incorrigible! I don't act like that!"

"Yes, you do," Fluffy countered flatly. "That bratty snob is 100% you."

"YOU!"

Fluffy's comment almost started a fight between the sisters; however, Elian quickly caught Bianca and kissed her on the cheek.

"Darling, calm down. It doesn't matter what they think; I love you all the same."

"Elian…"

"KYA!!!! IT'S REAL!!" "Goodness, it's like the characters came to life." "WOW! The Tyrant is so dreamy!" "Then that means the vow!" "Girl, imagine the kiss!" "KYA!"

Unable to stop themselves, a few of the women cried out in joy, including even Seraphi. If earlier the humans did not know how to act around Elian and Bianca, now they were not only friendly but also emotional. The men all made wry faces as if they had swallowed crap.

Meeting movie stars or famous personalities often brings instant admiration and awe. When the humans realized the two before them were the characters from the famous legend, it eased their reservations.

Ned and Charlotte were about to rebuke them until a loud crack suddenly echoed from afar.

Woody, who stood above everyone, looked on and reported, "They come."

Elian quickly borrowed Woody's vision and saw the incoming danger. A black spot appeared in the sky and began to flow downward. Like a waterfall made of darkness that poured downward, flooding the land beneath it.

If that was not enough, the light seemed to grow dimmer around the darkness. Despite it still being early in the morning, half of the space lost its light. As if night had fallen, the world was split in two, the side with the black spot turned to night while Elian's side remained day.

Clink. Clink. Clink.

Like chains being dragged along a steel floor, a metallic grating sound resonated.

In the same moment, out of the darkness-infested ground and sky, they arose. Black sculptures of different sizes and shapes came out of the ground; some floated in the sky. Amidst the dark background, they were almost invisible.

Only each sculpture opened its eyes to reveal two orange objects that burned like fire. As if thousands of candles appeared in neat and tidy lines, the entire event was unsettling. Only the orange flames shone on the side of the night. And there were thousands.

Somewhere along the line, the metallic clinking stopped. The army of the living watched their opponents assemble from afar. What unnerved them was not the darkness nor the orange lights. It was the silence. The army of black seemed to swallow everything.

Animals, plants, even the wind. Everything ceased the moment they arrived. And Elian watched as the army of rogue Weapons assembled in silence at a pace that should have been impossible.

Elian looked toward Bianca; she was also studying the enemy invaders. However, what surprised him was that, aside from him and his wife, the rest of the humans all had determined expressions. He was about to ask Woody when he heard the sharp crunch of footsteps.

He turned and saw that it was his friend, Ned Patel.

The Ned in his mind had been the glasses-wearing, foul-mouthed boy he grew up with. Even when he got encased in armor and fell in love with Charlotte, he was still the same person. But the one in front of him was different.

"OH SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF EARTH! THE TIME HAS COME!" Ned began.

His metallic body was around 200 cm when Elian was fighting him. Now? He has grown. Elian watched his friend transform from a regular-sized human to a giant almost twenty meters tall. Armed with an oversized mace and a tower shield the size of a small hill, Ned, the Tyrant of Earth, roared.

"LONG HAVE WE WAITED! WE TRAINED, CONQUERED, AND EVOLVED FOR THIS MOMENT! WE WILL NOT FAIL!" Slamming his shield into the ground, the Tyrant of Earth raised his mace and pointed toward the army that had invaded.

"FOURTH LEGION! KILL ALL WHO INVADE OUR LANDS! WE MARCH!"

Then Ned did the unthinkable; alone, he ran toward the rogue Weapons. Elian quickly turned to Charlotte, only to see that she was no longer there. He scanned to find the Psychomancer, only to see her floating in the sky. She had a very large sniper rifle in her hand and aimed.

"Is that?"

"I believe it is," Bianca answered excitedly.

The design of the rifle looked nearly identical to the Fralhame Lance Bianca used. The buttstock opened up, and a mirror-like panel appeared above Charlotte. Her body began to glow iridescently like the stars in the night sky.

A bright flash followed. It was as if the sun focused all its light into a narrow beam. It was blinding, but the power and heat coming from the light could be felt even from where Elian stood. The light slammed into the mirror above Charlotte and made a cracking sound.

Like an electric current that snaked around a Tesla coil, the energy danced until it flowed toward Charlotte's rifle. Then the Psychomancer murmured as she pulled the trigger.

"CLAIMH SOLAIS, FIRE!"

A powerful lightning bolt of immense size shot out of her rifle. The energy formed a dragon made of electrical currents that streaked toward the army of enemies. Loud eruptions followed in its wake as if the very air exploded from the sheer power of the shot.

The lightning dragon overtook Ned and landed at the center of the vast black army. It detonated and bathed the surroundings in blinding light. The rogue Weapons all bore the brunt of the explosion and disintegrated to dust within moments. Those a bit further away were partially melted from the aftermath.

Amazed at the firepower Charlotte wielded, Elian couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow."

But before he could even say anything further, the air screamed. It was like thousands of banshees shrieked at once. Immediately after, gigantic black spears the size of giant redwood trees fell by the thousands. Like the barrage of a machine gun, they decimated the invaders who still moved.

Falling like meteors, the impact they inflicted turned the entire area into craters like the moon's surface. The black darkness was ripped apart by the sheer impact. Some pierced the black spot; unfortunately, they were swallowed up instead.

Amidst the hailstorm of black columns, Ned ran towards the space below the black sun. Elian was about to wonder why when he saw the unbelievable. Just like Golem Lake, the darkness flowed down and created more and more rogue Weapons.

The new ones all raised their weapons and attacked the Tyrant of Earth. However, using his immense size and strength, Ned smashed and trampled on the black statues attacking him. Elian was about to ask the human breakers to reinforce his friend when the black spears that fell all transformed.

Each spear morphed and turned into a giant knight similar to Ned. Out of their shoulders came smaller golems that began to attack the enemy army. More and more golems joined the battle from both sides, turning the battle into a chaotic melee.

The brutality of the battle rose by the second.

Elian, who saw the battle, cracked his neck and moved to join in. But he was stopped by Burny.

"Sir Elian, you must not. This is only a skirmish; I assure you we have fought the army of the End plenty of times. You cannot waste time here."

Woody quickly kneeled down and placed his hand on the ground. "Burny is right, my Tyrant. The Fourth Legion will protect Earth. The young Ned has long become a powerful warrior. He will be fine."

"…"

While he felt conflicted, Elian knew they were right. Nevertheless, seeing the two armies, both of which were the color black, made it difficult to see who was winning.

"We need some light."

The Tyrant of Will closed his eyes and summoned forth his abilities. Using the atoms in the wind, he marked every ally and changed the very nature of their army. Within an instant, every Weapon and armor affiliated with the Weapons of Valestra changed color.

From black, the color of onyx, their metals all morphed into a radiant white, the color of snow. Golden lines added majesty to the simple white color, creating a pattern that looked both noble and powerful.

When Elian opened his eyes, he saw the changes he had created. He grew proud to see his friend leading a gigantic order of white and gold knights against black humanoid golems.

If Katri and the others turned him and his life into a legend, he intended for the universe to know that he did not stand alone.

Turning around, Elian murmured to his best friend, "I leave this place to you, brother. I will go now."

KASYACCKKKK!

A loud sound echoed from the black sun. A fiery spear of onyx with a tip of glowing orange shot out. But before it could race toward Elian's location, it was swatted out of the sky by a large white knight.

"KICK THEM ALL IN THE BALLS!!" Ned roared in excitement.

"Hahaha! Got it."
