Novel's Extra: The Lost Heir of Dragon Queen-Chapter 79: Pact with Kael and Spirit
---
Knock-Knock.
"Come in," Kael said, his voice steady.
The door creaked open, revealing Lumia, who stepped into the room with a mix of curiosity and hesitation.
"Hi, Kael… why did you call me?" Lumia asked, tilting her head.
Kael glanced up, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Nothing special. Just come here."
Lumia walked closer.
"What are you trying to do?" she asked warily.
Kael reached into his pocket, pulling out an intricate bracelet that gleamed faintly with a golden hue.
Its surface was covered with ancient runes, pulsating faintly.
"Give me your hand," Kael said softly.
"What?" Lumia blinked, surprised.
"Just trust me," Kael said, his voice calm and reassuring.
With slight hesitation, Lumia extended her hand, her cheeks flushing slightly as Kael gently clasped her wrist.

Sliding the bracelet onto her hand, Kael stepped back, his gaze steady as he studied her reaction.
The bracelet shimmered faintly, the runes glowing brighter as it made contact with Lumia’s mana.
"What… is this?" Lumia whispered, staring at the artifact now adorning her wrist.
"It’s a bracelet designed to help awaken spirit affinity. It works when someone has latent spirit affinity but hasn’t properly unlocked it," Kael explained.
Lumia’s eyes widened in astonishment. "You mean—"
"Yes," Kael interrupted gently. "If you have the affinity, this will help you see and communicate with spirits."
Lumia sat down as Kael gestured to the chair near him.
Her hands trembled slightly as she gazed at the bracelet, a mix of excitement and apprehension bubbling within her.
"Now, channel your mana into it," Kael instructed.
Lumia hesitated briefly before closing her eyes.
Slowly, she allowed her mana to flow through her body and into the bracelet.
The moment her mana made contact with the artifact, the room filled with a warm, radiant glow.
The runes on the bracelet flared to life, projecting intricate patterns of light that swirled around Lumia.
A faint breeze stirred the air, carrying with it a chorus of whispers, soft and melodic.
Lumia’s eyes snapped open, glowing faintly as she gasped.
Around her, ethereal figures began to materialize—spirits of varying shapes and sizes.
Some were small and mischievous, darting around her with laughter, while others were regal and imposing, their translucent forms radiating a sense of ancient power.
"I… I can see them," Lumia whispered, awe lacing her voice.
Her eyes darted from one spirit to another.
Tears welled up in Lumia’s eyes as she felt the warmth of the spirits’ presence surrounding her, their energy mingling with her own.
Kael watched silently, his arms crossed as he leaned against the desk.
"Kael… thank you," Lumia said, her voice trembling with emotion as she turned to face him.
Her cheeks were red, and her gaze was a mixture of gratitude and something deeper.
"It’s nothing," Kael said, brushing it off.
"You wanted to become stronger, didn’t you? This is the first step."
Lumia’s heart swelled as she stared at him.
"It’s good," Kael said,"Now you have to focus and make a pact with a spirit."
Lumia nodded.
Her hand unconsciously grazed the bracelet on her wrist, her thoughts far from the task at hand.
Instead, guilt bubbled within her—guilt that she had nothing to offer Kael in return.
’What could I give him?,’ she wondered.
Her gaze shifted toward Kael, who was standing by the desk.
"Try to make pact with low level spirit," kael suggested
Half an hour later...
"You’re doing great," Kael said encouragingly.
"But remember, forming a pact with a spirit isn’t something that happens instantly. It takes time, patience, and mutual understanding."
Lumia nodded, her focus entirely on the spirits.
One of the smaller ones, a glowing orb with butterfly-like wings, hovered near her face.
It tilted slightly as if studying her.
Lumia smiled softly and reached out her hand.
The spirit flitted closer, its light pulsing warmly as it landed on her palm.
Lumia closed her eyes and whispered something Kael couldn’t hear.
Moments later, the spirit released a faint chime-like sound, and a thread of energy connected them briefly before disappearing into Lumia’s core.
Kael, who had been looking away for just a moment, turned back.
"Alright, now remember, forming a pact can take weeks, but I’m confident—"
"I already formed a pact," Lumia said casually, interrupting him.
Kael froze, staring at her.
"What?"
Lumia gave him a sheepish grin, holding up her hand where the faint mark of a spirit contract glowed softly.
"You—what?" Kael exclaimed.
"You actually did it? Already?"
The faint chime of the spirit echoed again as it hovered near Lumia’s shoulder.
’As expected of the future War Queen,’ Kael thought.
"You’ve achieved something most people take months to accomplish... in minutes."
"It just felt... natural," Lumia replied, standing up.
Her confidence seemed to radiate as much as her joy.
Kael shook his head in disbelief, a small smile forming on his lips.
"Well, I guess you don’t need my help with that after all,"
"Let’s go then," kael said.
"Where to?" Lumia asked.
Kael glanced at her.
"Let’s go to the training arena for a duel. I want to see your level."
Lumia smirked.
"Fine, but before that..." She paused, her voice softening as she stepped closer to him.
Kael blinked, slightly confused.
"Before what?"
Lumia didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she moved closer, her purple eyes locking onto his.
Kael could feel her breath now, warm and slow, as she stood so close their bodies almost touched.
"What are you trying to do?" Kael asked.
"Nothing... yet," Lumia replied, her cheeks flushed crimson as she leaned toward his neck.
Kael’s body stiffened as he felt the light brush of her lips against his skin.
Then, without warning, he felt a sharp yet strangely soothing sensation as her fangs pierced his neck.
"Lumia," he whispered, his voice filled with both surprise and something he couldn’t quite identify.
The sensation was unlike anything Kael had ever felt before.
A warmth spread through his body, and an almost hypnotic pleasure overtook his senses.
His mind raced, yet his body relaxed as if surrendering to her completely.
Lumia’s own face was a deep shade of red as she drank from him, her hands gripping his shoulders tightly.
She could feel his pulse through her lips, strong and steady, yet it seemed to quicken as she continued.
Kael closed his eyes, a strange sense of euphoria washing over him.
’Why... does this feel so... good?’ he thought, his knees weakening slightly.
A part of him didn’t want her to stop, a primal urge begging her to take everything.
But then, as if sensing his limits, Lumia pulled back, her lips still stained with his blood.
She looked at him with wide eyes, her expression a mix of embarrassment and something deeper.
"Are you okay?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kael touched his neck, the warmth still lingering.
"I… I think so," he said.
Lumia looked away, unable to meet his gaze. "I’m sorry... I didn’t mean to..."
Kael shook his head, a small smile forming despite his confusion.
"It’s fine. Just… warn me next time."
"Is it really fine for me to do this again next time?" Lumia asked.
Kael blinked at her, his expression softening.
"Yes, it’s fine. Just... tell me beforehand next time."
Lumia’s face lit up slightly.
Kael noticed the hesitation in her eyes, and after a few moments of silence, he broke the stillness.
"I didn’t mean anything by it," Kael began.
"but I wanted to ask—" He hesitated, then continued, "Has there been anyone else you’ve done this with?"
Lumia froze, her cheeks reddening. She glanced away, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Yes… one person."
Kael’s heart dropped, a sharp, twisting sensation overtaking him.
His expression darkened, and an icy bloodlust filled the room.
"Who is that one person?" Kael asked, his voice cold and laced with an edge of menace.
His gaze bore into Lumia, now filled with indifference as his aura turned dangerously sharp.
Lumia blinked, startled by the sudden shift.
"It’s… it’s my mother," she said, her voice tinged with confusion.
Kael froze.
The bloodlust evaporated in an instant, replaced by embarrassment and a wave of guilt that washed over him like a tidal wave.
"Oh my god," he whispered, pinching the bridge of his nose as he looked away.
"Lumia, I... I thought you meant…"
Lumia tilted her head, a mischievous smile creeping onto her lips as realization dawned.
"What did you think I meant, Kael?"
Kael’s face flushed red, and he quickly waved his hands.
"Nothing! Never mind! Forget I asked!"
Step-Step.
The footsteps grew louder and both of them glanced at the toward door....
