[POV: Elise]

"What did she call me here for?" Elise muttered, crossing her arms and tapping her foot impatiently.

The dark alleyway she stood.

"She better have a good reason for dragging me out this late."

Then Elise spotted Rivera, her friend, approaching with a wide grin.

"Finally," Elise said. "Where the hell have you been? I’ve been standing here like an idiot for ages."

"Relax, Elise," Rivera said, flipping her hair casually. "You act like I left you stranded in a dungeon. I’m here now."

"Barely." Elise scowled. "You owe me for this. What’s so important that you couldn’t just message me?"

"I have something that will change your life," Rivera said.

Elise raised a brow. "What kind of nonsense are you talking about now?"

Rivera leaned in, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper.

"There’s someone I know. A man who... helps people. You know, get stronger. Faster. Better."

Elise frowned. "And what’s the catch?"

"No catch," Rivera said quickly. "I’ve seen the results myself. My friend—well, he was pathetic before. Always struggling to keep up. But after a few visits to this guy, he’s practically a different person. Top of his class in combat drills."

Elise hesitated. "This doesn’t sound legal."

Rivera rolled her eyes. "Do you want to catch up kael or not? He’s always overshadowing us. Don’t you want a way to finally stand out?"

The mention of Kael sparked a flicker of resentment in Elise’s chest.

(A/N: this b*tch— he saved you,)

"Fine," she said after a moment. "But if this turns out to be a waste of time, you’re paying for my dinner for a week."

"Deal," Rivera said, smirking. "Come on. The place isn’t far."

The pair walked in silence for a while, the streets growing darker and quieter as they ventured into a more secluded part of town.

Elise couldn’t shake the feeling that they were being watched, though she dismissed it as nerves.

Eventually, Rivera stopped in front of a nondescript building.

"This is it?" Elise asked, unimpressed.

Rivera nodded and pulled a small black card from her pocket.

She handed it to the man standing by the door, a stern-faced compounder.

He examined the card briefly before motioning for them to enter.

"Fifth floor," he said.

The elevator ride was tense.

Elise felt the walls of the small, rickety lift closing in around her.

Rivera seemed unbothered, humming softly to herself.

When they stepped out onto the fifth floor, they were met with the faint scent of burning incense and the sound of low murmurs.

A tall figure emerged from the shadows, his eyes glowing faintly in the dim light.

"Welcome," he said, his voice smooth and unnervingly calm. "I’ve been expecting you."

Elise’s unease deepened. "Rivera... who exactly is this guy?"

Rivera smiled nervously. "Don’t worry. He’s the best in the business."

"No," Elise whispered sensing something is wrong.

Elise stepped back cautiously, her eyes narrowing at the man in front of her.

Something about him was off.

His disguise—long flowing hair, painted lips, and graceful demeanor—was flawless, but the energy radiating from him was dark, oppressive, and suffocating.

"Oh, a Succubus bloodline," he said, as his sharp gaze scanned Elise.

"Quite the rarity. Your kind has... fascinating abilities. Tell me, have you learned how to wield it yet? Or are you just wasting that potential?"

Elise clenched her fists, anger flashing in her eyes.

"Who are you to speak of my bloodline? It’s none of your business!"

The man chuckled, his grin widening.

"Oh, but it is. You see, Succubi are said to grant their partners unimaginable power. A simple touch from you could elevate an ordinary man to godlike strength. You can turn the weak into kings." His smile darkened.

"And I imagine the effects would be... intoxicating for both of us."

Elise’s stomach turned, and she took another step back.

"You don’t know what you’re talking about. My bloodline isn’t for you to exploit!"

Rivera, standing beside Elise, glared at him.

"We’re leaving. Get out of our way." Elise said.

The man raised a brow, feigning offense.

"Leaving so soon? I was hoping we could... bond. I’ve always wondered what it feels like to have a Succubus at my side, sharing her gifts with me. It’s a privilege, really."

"Enough!" Elise snapped, her crimson aura flaring around her.

"I don’t know who you think you are, but you’ve crossed the line!"

The man’s laughter echoed in the room, cold and mocking.

"Oh, I’ve crossed the line? How delightful. You truly don’t know your place, do you?" Man said.

Elise summoned her power, the energy of her Succubus bloodline crackling in the air.

Her kind was rare, even among the supernatural.

The Succubus bloodline was famed for its ability to draw strength from emotions—love, desire, and even hatred—channeling it into raw, destructive power.

However, this strength came with a price: it was volatile, often uncontrollable, and could consume the user if not mastered.

"You’re nothing but a coward hiding behind a fake face," Elise said.

Rivera stepped forward, drawing her blade.

"If you don’t step aside, we’ll make you." Rivera added.

The man smirked, his expression unbothered. "Oh, you’ll make me, will you? By all means, try. I could use some entertainment."

Elise lunged, her claws glowing with crimson energy as she swiped at him.

Rivera followed, her sword cutting through the air with precision.

The man moved like a shadow, his body blurring as he dodged their attacks effortlessly.

"Is that all? How disappointing."

Rivera growled, slashing again, but the man caught her sword mid-swing, twisting it from her grasp and sending her crashing into the wall with a flick of his wrist.

"Ugh,"

She groaned, struggling to stand.

"You’re wasting your time," he said, turning his attention back to Elise.

"You’re not even scratching the surface of your potential. A shame, really. With proper guidance, you could be unstoppable."

"I don’t need your guidance!" Elise shouted, her aura intensifying as she attacked again.

This time, her claws grazed his shoulder, but he caught her wrist before she could strike again, his grip like iron.

"You’re feisty. I like that," he sneered, his free hand tearing at the fabric of her cloak, exposing her shoulder.

"Let me go!" Elise struggled, her power surging again, but the man didn’t budge.

Rivera, groaning from the floor, forced herself to her feet.

"Don’t touch her!" she yelled, charging at him once more, only to be swatted away like a fly.

"You both have such spirit," he said, almost amused.

"But spirit alone won’t save you."

Elise and Rivera mustered the last of their strength, attacking their foe one more time.

Elise’s crimson aura flared brightly, and Rivera, despite her battered state, pushed forward with her blade aimed at the man’s chest.

Their movements were desperate, driven by survival, but the man moved like a shadow, dodging and weaving through their attacks effortlessly.

His mocking laughter echoed in the room, chilling and filled with disdain.

THUD

With a casual swipe of his hand, Rivera was thrown back again, her body colliding against the wall.

She crumpled to the floor, groaning in pain, unable to stand.

"Boss told me to keep this quiet, but you’ve made it so difficult. And really, can you blame me? A Succubus," he said, licking his lips.

"You’re a rare treasure. It’s not every day one gets this opportunity."

Elise’s heart pounded as the man lunged toward her.

She swung her claws, but he caught her wrist effortlessly and pushed her to the floor.

THUD

"No!" she screamed, thrashing beneath him, but his strength was overwhelming.

Her crimson aura flickered weakly, her energy nearly depleted.

"Don’t struggle, little one," he muttered, pinning her down as his other hand began tearing at the remnants of her clothes.

"You’re powerless now. That fire of yours—gone. All I see is a scared little girl."

Tears welled up in Elise’s eyes as she fought to free herself.

She felt powerless, helpless.

Her mind screamed, her thoughts a cacophony of fear and desperation.
