Obsessed with a High-Ranking Esper (BL)-Chapter 264: Blind date
He stared at him, still processing, his chest tight with a mix of surprise and admiration. His brother, who seemed untouchable, had love hidden in his heart all along.
Jian Rui finally turned his gaze back to him, his tone shifting, firm but encouraging. "Enough about me. Tell me... how are you going to confess to him?"
Jian Ci was more than happy to share, his excitement bubbling over as he began to tell Jian Rui every detail of his plan. He spoke of the place he wanted to take Yu Xi, the meal he would prepare, the words he had rehearsed in his mind a hundred times. Jian Rui listened with rare patience, even offering suggestions.
Jian Ci was so thrilled he couldn’t help but take notes, scribbling down every idea his brother gave him. The two of them, who had been at odds not long ago, now sat shoulder to shoulder, happily sketching out the blueprint of Jian Ci’s confession.
The day slipped by in harmony. By the time nightfall came, Jian Ci had everything ready. His heart raced with anticipation, his mind replaying the moment he would finally confess. Jian Rui’s last words echoed in his ears: Go big or go home.
Jian Ci was about to call Yu Xi, to find out what he had been up to, when his communicator buzzed. It was a message from Xiaobao.
It was just a location, followed by a simple instruction: Come over.
Jian Ci’s brow arched. He typed back quickly: What for?
Her reply came instantly: Don’t ask questions. Just come.
Jian Ci’s instincts told him it had something to do with Yu Xi. Without hesitation, he checked the location. It was a nightclub.
He grabbed his jacket, his pulse quickening. Without another word, he headed for the door. Jian Rui and Jian Wei barely had time to glance up before his shadow disappeared down the hall.

Yu Xi stepped out of the hover car, the neon lights of the city reflecting off its sleek frame. He stretched out his hand, steady and protective, to help Xiaobao out. She accepted gracefully, her stiletto heels clicking against the pavement as she emerged. Her dress shimmered under the glow, hair styled perfectly for the occasion. Every detail was sharp, deliberate and flawless.
Yu Xi glanced at her, his brow furrowing. "Did we have to meet him here?"
Xiaobao adjusted her clutch, her tone calm but firm. "This is Grandpa’s nightclub. It’s the safest place to meet."
Yu Xi sighed, taking her fur coat from the car and draping it over her shoulders.
"I am not that cold," Xiaobao protested lightly.
"Just put it on," Yu Xi said, his voice brooking no argument.
Her lips twitched, caught between amusement and exasperation. Her brother was being overly protective again, but she let him fuss.
Yu Xi took her hand, guiding her toward the VIP entrance. The doors opened smoothly, attendants already waiting to welcome them with bows and polite smiles. The manager stepped forward, leading them down a corridor lined with soft lights and muted music.
They entered the private room, and the atmosphere shifted instantly.
Inside stood a tall esper, his presence commanding. He wore a minimalist, high-shine satin shirt with a dramatic deep V-neckline, collarless, the fabric shimmering under the lights. The sharp angular V-cut hem gave the outfit a tailored, geometric edge, sleek yet bold. His chest was toned, muscular, and right at the neckline rested a star tattoo, stark against his skin.
He smiled, handsome and confident, his expression eager as he stepped forward to greet them. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Xiaobao’s expression was flat, her tone disinterested as she gestured toward the tall esper. "This is Roan Zeng."
Roan inclined his head politely, though his eyes lingered on Yu Xi. Of course he knew Xiaobao. He had been there when they rescued her. His life had been shaped long before that, when Eros saved him from interstellar pirates at the age of four. From that day forward, Roan had vowed to follow Eros, and by extension, Xiaobao... and Yu Xi.
It was no secret that Roan was drawn to espers. When Eros suggested setting him up with Yu Xi, he had been skeptical. Yu Xi was his superior... his boss, and entangling himself romantically would complicate everything. But when Roan finally saw him, really saw him, he stopped caring about complications. Yu Xi was worth the risk.
That was why he had accepted this blind date. The only problem was that Yu Xi didn’t know it was a blind date. And the reason they had chosen this nightclub was simple. Roan was on Virellia’s most wanted list, and this was the safest place to meet without drawing attention.
Roan’s gaze locked onto Yu Xi, and for a moment he forgot himself, forgot Xiaobao’s introduction, forgot everything but the man standing before him.
Yu Xi stretched out his hand but when Roan didn’t respond, his brow arched in confusion. "..."
Roan didn’t react.
Xiaobao nudged him sharply. "Psst, don’t be weird."
Roan blinked, snapping back to himself. He reached forward quickly, his voice apologetic but bold. "I am sorry. I was just... entranced by your beauty."
Xiaobao, "..."
Yu Xi’s eyes narrowed, his tone sharp. "You must have a death wish."
Roan’s smile widened, unflinching. "Then I will die a happy man."
Xiaobao sighed, her tone sharp but playful. "Okay, that’s enough. Xi-ge, I am thirsty. Are you thirsty?"
Yu Xi, who had been seconds away from breaking Roan’s jaw, forced himself to let it slide. The only reason he held back was because Roan was important to Eros, otherwise, he would have sent him limping home with a broken bone.
He brushed past Roan without another word and dropped onto the leather couch, his posture commanding. Xiaobao slipped down beside him, crossing her legs elegantly.
"What do you want to drink?" Yu Xi asked, his voice clipped. "Any wine will do," Xiaobao replied.
"Mocktail then," Yu Xi countered immediately.
Xiaobao stared at him, lips twitching. "..."
She finally huffed. "You are no fun."
Across from them, Roan sat down, his legs spread wide, his gaze locked on Yu Xi. His heart stirred violently. He had been interested before, but now, meeting Yu Xi in person, seeing the sharpness in his eyes, the fierceness in his demeanor, he was captivated. Yu Xi was exactly his type: stern, difficult, impossible to pursue. And that impossibility only made him want more.
Yu Xi felt the weight of Roan’s stare and turned his head slowly, his brow arching. "Do you still want your eyes?"
Roan’s smile widened. "Yes... But if you like them, I can give them to you."
Yu Xi was at a loss. What sort of pervert did his Grandfather introduce him to? "You have something for me," Yu Xi said flatly, cutting through the tension.
Roan leaned forward, his voice smooth. "Yeah. But can’t we get to know each other first? You are, after all, my direct superior."
Yu Xi’s eyes narrowed. "Given the way you were staring, I thought you forgot about that fact."
Roan chuckled, unbothered. "I didn’t."
