Oopss... I Married My Boss-Chapter 69: A Real Proposal
Adrian grinned, moved to sit beside her, and spent the whole meal feeding her bite by bite, enjoying every little expression on her face.
After finishing her meal, Bianca hugged Adrian from the side and said honestly, "You know, Ad... these past few months living together made me realize something. You’ve made me fall in love with you."
Adrian’s eyes widened in shock at her confession. Then, slowly, his expression turned into pure joy.
"Wait, what did you just say, babe? You’re in love with me?"
Bianca smiled and nodded. "Yes. You made me fall in love with your kindness, your sincerity, and..." she paused, giving him a playful look, "...your handsome face." The last part she said in a teasing tone.
Adrian chuckled happily and pulled her into a tight hug before kissing her forehead. "Thank goodness... finally, I made you fall in love with me. I was so scared my feelings would stay one-sided."
Then, as if remembering something, he pulled back slightly. "Wait here, babe. I need to get something." His voice carried reluctance as he let her go.
"What is it you want to get?" Bianca asked, curious.
Adrian only smiled mysteriously before walking away. Moments later, he returned and took Bianca’s hand. He led her to the living room. The lights were dimmed, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere.
After seating Bianca on the sofa, Adrian suddenly knelt down. "Bianca Valencia Scott, will you marry me?" he said as he opened a small ring box.
Bianca gasped and stared in shock. "Oh my God... You’re so silly. We’re already married, Adrian."
"I know," Adrian said with a gentle smile. "But right now, I’m proposing to you as my real wife, not just my contract wife. So, Bianca Valencia Scott... will you be my wife? My real wife?" His voice carried both hope and sincerity.
Bianca was deeply touched. Her eyes filled with tears. "Yes. Yes. Yes, Adrian. I will!" she shouted, quickly standing up and pulling Adrian into a tight hug.
They kissed, their hearts full of joy. Afterward, Adrian slipped the ring he had bought in Japan onto Bianca’s finger.
"When did you get this ring?" Bianca asked softly, staring at the small diamond.
"During our trip to Japan," Adrian replied.
"Really?"
"Yes. I bought it together with the necklace I gave you. But I kept the ring... waiting for the right moment to propose to you."
Bianca’s heart swelled with emotion. Somehow, Japan always held a special place in her heart, maybe because that was where Adrian had first confessed his feelings for her. The memories from that trip were still so vivid.
Looking at her lovingly, Adrian suddenly shared a wild idea that had just popped into his head.
"How about we have another vow renewal and another reception?"
"Huh? You want to do it again?" Bianca blinked in surprise.
"Yeah. This time, for our real marriage. I’m sure you’d love to plan everything, like the invitations, the venue, the dress, the wedding planner, and all the details that come with it. So, what if we do it again? This time, you and I will plan everything together. What do you think?" Adrian asked excitedly.
His idea was quite tempting. For a moment, Bianca almost gave in. But then she thought, what would people say if they held another vow renewal and reception? Not only that, they had already gone through their honeymoon. People would surely think strange things if they did it all over again.
"I don’t think it’s necessary," Bianca said softly. "Our vows in front of the pastor are enough for me. Even though, at first, they didn’t mean much to either of us, in the end, God’s plan turned out differently than what we thought. And for me, that’s enough."
"How about just another vow renewal then? Just the two of us, no guests," Adrian suggested gently.
"No need, Ad," Bianca replied.
Even though Bianca wasn’t very religious, she had already spoken her vows once. Saying them again just didn’t feel right to her.
"Are you sure you don’t want to?" Adrian asked again.
"Yeah..." Bianca nodded.
"Alright. I’ll listen to you. And thank you for loving me and accepting me, babe. I’ll try my best to be a good, reliable, and loving husband for you," Adrian said, hugging Bianca again.
Bianca rested her chin on his shoulder and said, "Thank you too, for loving me and accepting me as I am. I’ll try my best to be a good wife to you. And a good mother to our child."
"If one day I do something you don’t like—whether it’s my attitude, my words, or my actions, please tell me. I’ll fix it right away," Adrian said seriously.
Bianca let out a small laugh. "Oh, I have a lot to say about that."
Adrian pulled back from the hug and looked at her, a bit uneasy, afraid he might have already disappointed her.
"Have I made a lot of mistakes?"
Adrian swallowed hard.
Bianca tried to look serious and said,
"You’re way too protective of me."
Adrian stayed quiet, wanting to hear everything Bianca had to say.
"When you cook and I want to do the dishes, you don’t let me. You don’t even let me go out without you," Bianca continued, then tilted her head. "What else?"
She smirked at him. "I forgot the rest," she added playfully.
"Babe... seriously?"
Adrian shook his head with a light chuckle. For a moment, he thought she was upset and that he’d disappointed her. But no, she was only teasing him.
"Honestly, Ad... so far, you’ve never disappointed me," Bianca said softly. "I just hope you’ll keep loving me like this. Don’t change."
"I don’t think I can, babe," Adrian replied, his tone suddenly serious.
Bianca frowned.
"My love for you will only grow," Adrian continued with a playful smile. "And I’m sure I’ll treat you even better than now. So I can’t promise not to change."
Bianca laughed and gave him a light punch.
