Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 5: You Have No Say Over Who I See
The man’s eyes were cold, full of sarcasm.
People from different worlds, talking more is like playing the piano to a cow.
This high-status cow, Julian Ford, Scarlett Shaw couldn’t provoke, so she simply gave up and said, "President Ford, are you going to delete the photos or not?"
Julian Ford responded with a question instead, "Why do you think I would keep your photos?"
Scarlett was slightly stunned.
She finally understood.
Apparently, this big boss was also just teasing her, aggressively claiming she deceived him, yet he was taking her as a joke too.
Scarlett took a deep breath, turned around, opened the door, and left.
She walked out of Cloud Mansion alone, blown by the cold wind.
As soon as she reached the street, she glimpsed a Cayenne parked not far away.
Upon looking at the license plate, it was indeed Ryan Ford’s car.
Her first reaction was to run away.
Just as she took half a step, she suddenly noticed the Cayenne’s excessive vibration frequency, as if... it was shaking.
She felt a chill in her heart, recalling the condoms she found in Ryan Ford’s car.
During the three years with Ryan Ford, he had many ambiguous relationships, which Scarlett couldn’t control, but she was sure Ryan hadn’t been intimately involved with those women.
The woman in the car was Ryan Ford’s only exception.
Driven by an inexplicable impulse, Scarlett approached the Cayenne, trying to get to the front for a clearer view of the woman’s appearance.
The backseat door opened the moment she got close.
Ryan Ford got out of the car, quickly closed the door, and Scarlett didn’t remember to see clearly inside, meeting Ryan’s dark eyes.
Ryan’s gaze was piercing, "Scarlett, what are you doing here?"
Scarlett pressed her lips together.
The honest truth that she came with Julian Ford couldn’t be told, naturally.
She glanced at the Cayenne, questioning, "Is there someone else in your car?"
Ryan’s charming eyes darkened slightly, his gaze flickering.
Scarlett took the opportunity to try to pull open the car door.
Her hand just reached out, caught by Ryan, who gave her a faint look, instantly overlapping with Julian Ford’s face.
Scarlett was taken aback.
Ryan said, "Didn’t you break up with me? I’m single now; you’re in no place to question me finding other women."
Scarlett paused slightly, then bent her lips in a calm expression, "Yeah, I’m not concerned."
She wasn’t really interested either.
If she hadn’t coincidentally run into this today, she wouldn’t want to disgust herself again.
Scarlett asked, "That condom you left in the car a few days ago, was it for her?"
Ryan Ford furrowed his brows, taking a quick glance inside the car.
Not denying it.
Scarlett sneered, "Ryan Ford, I should thank you for considering me too filthy to touch! You’re just a trash bin yourself!"
All these years, she had never spoken harshly to Ryan Ford.
This was the first time.
Scarlett’s voice was even shaking.
Ryan met her reddened eyes, his heart aching; he couldn’t stand her using such a tone to speak to him.
"How clean can you be? If you were really clean, would you sleep with another man the day after breaking up with me?"
Ryan Ford’s large hand was still gripping Scarlett’s wrist.
He tightened his grip while speaking, causing Scarlett’s thin brows to furrow slightly, her expression showing discomfort.
Ryan released her, took a deep breath, and looking around, suddenly realized something, questioning in a cold voice:
"You haven’t answered me yet. Why are you here? Is that man living here?"
Scarlett responded, "You just said it, we broke up, I’m single, whoever I find you can’t question."
After saying this, she turned and walked away.
Ryan stood still, leaning against the car, took out a cigarette and lit it, his expression deep in thought.
Five minutes later, Ryan got back in the car.
He spoke in a calm voice to the woman in the backseat who had already dressed, "Leave later, don’t run into Scarlett."
"Okay."
The woman’s voice was cool and obedient.
Ryan looked up, the car’s rearview mirror reflecting the woman’s clear, round eyes, resembling Scarlett’s very much.
...
Early morning.
Veridian.
Scarlett walked into the finance department; only Chloe Grant was there.
Scarlett said, "Please send me the cash flow and audit details for the companies in the investment plan."
Chloe didn’t lift her eyelids, "Didn’t I send it to your department last week?"
Scarlett frowned slightly, insisting, "It wasn’t sent."
Chloe replied, "I sent it to your department’s Lily."
Scarlett gave her a deep look, her gaze sweeping over the bag on the table, a new luxury brand, costing six figures.
Suddenly, Chloe stood up, and the materials on the table were knocked to the floor.
She bent down to pick them up.
Chloe’s top was quite short, revealing a small segment of her waist, marked with startling bruises.
The marks were heavy, definitely left from the night before.
When Chloe straightened up, she met Scarlett’s staring eyes.
"Anything else?" she asked coolly.
Scarlett turned and left the finance department, walking back to the investment department.
Skyler Miller, the department manager, asked, "Scarlett, has the finance department sent over the data?"
Scarlett replied, "Accountant Grant said she sent it to Lily."
Lily was gobbling up her breakfast, upon hearing this, got angry, "What she sent over was such rubbish, I’ve been organizing it for two days and found out the data logic is all wrong! I just reported it to Manager Miller!"
Skyler Miller’s face turned somewhat stern.
He didn’t say much but instructed Scarlett to print the materials for the upcoming meeting.
Scarlett didn’t expect Julian Ford to attend this meeting personally.
Julian Ford had assumed this position a month ago.
There’s a saying about new officials stirring up trouble, but in this month, the company was as calm as water without any major moves.
Scarlett had seen Julian Ford several times in the company, but always from a distance.
Today was the first time seeing him in such a formal setting.
Julian Ford’s face was truly perfect.
Along with the innate, noble aura of the wealthy aristocracy.
Sitting there, it was hard not to pay attention.
Male and female colleagues in the meeting couldn’t help but glance at Julian Ford, except Scarlett who kept her gaze strictly on the reporting materials.
The meeting’s theme was Veridian’s investment direction for the next five years.
The marketing department wanted short-term investments with quick returns, flexible funds, and high leveraged gains.
Scarlett, from the investment department, advocated for long-term value investment.
Scarlett reported this part, and at the end of the report, Julian Ford glanced lightly in her direction, his deep black eyes revealing no emotions or thoughts.
Scarlett quickly lowered her head.
Previously, dealings with Julian Ford were outside the company, not work-related, always about men and women’s affairs, she wasn’t too afraid, the psychological pressure wasn’t that high.
But now, Julian Ford was formally sitting in the boss’s position.
The pressure was overwhelming.
Further, he held her career fate in his hands.
Scarlett dared not breathe loudly.
The finance department started reporting, generally agreeing with the marketing department, claiming the company’s cash flow was tight, unsuitable for long-term investment.
Scarlett instinctively sneaked a glance at Julian Ford.
