Sophie Sullivan, if you take this seriously, you lose!

She snorted coldly and turned to leave.

Behind her, the man’s voice, chilly but tinged with huskiness, spoke, "Can’t you feel my kindness toward you?"

Sophie Sullivan stopped. "Are you talking about the things you’ve planned?"

Thomas Shannon sighed deeply. He stepped forward and hugged her from behind. The small woman in his embrace struggled like a wild bull in the Arena.

It took some effort to hold her still.

Thomas Shannon tilted his head and gave her a light peck on the face. "I let you deal with Minimus Hart; I did it just to make you happy. Can’t you feel even a little of my kindness?"

Sophie Sullivan was speechless.

Speaking of Minimus Hart, she indeed couldn’t bring herself to deny his kindness.

"Fennie, no woman has ever been as lawless as you. Never. You are the first."

After a pause, Thomas Shannon continued slowly in her ear, "And you will also be the last."

"You think I’m going to believe your sweet talk?"

Sophie Sullivan stiffened but continued to argue stubbornly.

"This isn’t sweet talk; it’s the truth."

Thomas Shannon turned her body to face him. He lifted her chin with one hand, forcing her to look at him. "Fennie, why else do you think I’ve gone to such great lengths to have the doctor cure your throat and find Old Mr. Standford to heal your face?"

"My body," Sophie Sullivan stated candidly.

Thomas Shannon’s eyes flashed. He hooked the corner of his mouth and chuckled softly. "Yes, your body is part of the reason. Another part is because you are my woman. From the beginning, I never intended to give you to someone else. So, being good to you is as natural as me liking you. It’s simply a matter of course."

Sophie Sullivan’s mind was reeling, bombarded by his sweet talk, almost making her forget where she was or what was happening.

However, the sliver of rationality she had left told her she couldn’t let it end this way!

She pushed him away with one hand. "Stop talking. I need some quiet."

Thomas Shannon nodded and slowly released her. Sophie Sullivan turned to leave.

She opened the study door and saw Charlie River standing in the doorway, a look of tension on his face.

Seeing her come out, he called out softly, "maniac..."

Sophie Sullivan glared at him. "You traitor!"

With that, she turned and returned to the bedroom.

Charlie River watched her walk away before entering the study room, carefully closing the door behind him.

"Young Master, are you alright?"

Thomas Shannon turned, walked to his desk, and lazily perched on it. His long legs rested on the ground, a cigarette in one hand and a metal lighter in the other.

He hooked the corner of his lips and chuckled lightly. "What could possibly be wrong with me?"

With the cigarette between his lips, he lowered his head. The metal lighter CLICKED, and a blue flame lit the tobacco.

"Is the maniac angry with you?"

After asking this, Charlie River really wanted to slap himself. Wasn’t that a stupid question?!

Given how furious the maniac looked when she left, how could she possibly not be angry? 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Thomas Shannon took a deep drag from his cigarette, gazing at him with deep, calm eyes, and said confidently, "She won’t be angry for long."

Sophie Sullivan was the type who responded to a gentle approach, not a forceful one. He had said so much; once she calmed down, she would carefully consider his words and whether they held any truth.

Even if she’s angry, it doesn’t matter. He has plenty of ways to cheer her up, to make her completely forget this incident.
