Please Let Me Go, My Contracted Ex-Husband.-Chapter 237- beg me
"Let me borrow your computer for a bit, I need to handle some emails!"
"Oh..."
As soon as she heard he needed to take care of work, she obediently handed over the computer. After all, he had left work behind and come all this way just to find her.
With just one sentence, he successfully stopped her from swooning over him any further. When it came to playing mind games, a rookie like her was no match for him. Feeling victorious, he almost hummed a tune as he took her laptop, logged into his email, and began working.
She had no choice but to rest her head on the table beside him, playing on her phone out of boredom. Before long, she started nodding off. Noticing this from the corner of his eye, he moved closer and let her soft, drowsy head rest against his shoulder.
Finding a comfortable spot to lean on, she quickly drifted off to sleep. He let her rest against him, lowering his gaze to her peaceful, sleeping face. With a deep sigh, he thought to himself, *Bonnie, what am I going to do with you?*
He took her straight back to Hong Kong. When Diago and the others saw her, they were shocked.
"Bonnie, why did you suddenly come back?"
"Well... I..."
She hesitated awkwardly, while he stood beside her, laughing at her misfortune. But suddenly, a bright idea struck her. She turned to Diago and the others and said,
"I just missed you guys, so I came back!"
She always knew how to make Diago happy. He scoffed in disdain, dragging her suitcase toward their shared bedroom. She quickly followed behind him.
From behind, his mother’s voice rang out,
"Bonnie, stay home for a few more days this time. You and A-Yi have been married for two years now, isn’t it time to start trying for a baby?"
Bonnie stumbled over her own feet, nearly tripping. She quickly grabbed his arm to steady herself, then, fearing his mother might say something even more embarrassing, she pushed him into their bedroom in a panic.
The moment he set the suitcase down, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her deeply, full of longing. She lay in his embrace, panting, her face still carrying traces of the panic his mother’s words had caused. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"What’s this? Just the thought of having a baby scares you this much?"
Lifting her into his arms, he tossed her onto the big bed, his actions making it clear just how much he had missed her.
She turned her head away, catching her breath.
"No, it’s just... The TV station is still finding its footing. If I get pregnant now, so many things will be left unfinished. I’m afraid everything we’ve worked for will go to waste..."
As he indulged in the beauty of her body, he could barely hold himself back. While kissing her, he murmured in her ear,
"Then beg me... beg me not to give you a child, and I won’t release inside you..."
At first, she hesitated. But when he thrust into her with force, claiming her completely, she could no longer hold back. Clinging tightly to his waist, she spoke in a slightly aggrieved voice,
" please, not yet... I’m still young, I don’t want to be tied down by a child so soon... ah..."
Her soft, fragmented pleas were mixed with the moans escaping her lips as he moved within her. The sound of her voice sent a surge of desire through him, making his lower abdomen tighten with need. For a moment, he almost lost control.
"Alright! Then we’ll wait until you’re ready..."
Who was it that once said, *to die beneath a peony blossom, even as a ghost, would be bliss*? That was exactly how he felt right now. Just one weak plea from her was enough to make him surrender, even though he had desperately wanted her to bear his child.
She didn’t stay long. The next day, she had to leave. His mother tried to persuade her to stay, but, surprisingly, he stopped her. Then, he packed two full suitcases and had the housekeeper load them into the car.
Sitting in the car, she looked at him in confusion.
"Are you going on a business trip?"
"Mm."
He got into the car as well, and the driver took them to the airport.
On the way, she fidgeted for a long time before finally asking,
"Where are you going?"
He calmly said the name of her city.
She immediately started panicking, grabbing his arm, her voice flustered and incoherent.
"What? Y-you... why did you bring so much luggage?"
Two whole suitcases!
She knew exactly what that meant. In the past, whenever he visited her, he never stayed longer than two days. But this time, just by looking at those suitcases, she could tell—he was planning to stay for a long time. That realization made her nervous.
If he didn’t stay by her side, was he supposed to let her continue seeing Carl Laurence? Or worse, let her get involved with other men? He had heard that several guys at the station were interested in her. The first thing he’d do after returning was to fire every single one of them.
Of course, he wouldn’t dismiss them without a valid reason. He would find the perfect excuse to get rid of them. Over the past two years, he had been secretly helping her manage the TV station from behind the scenes, so he knew everything about her situation inside and out.
Her life over the past two years had been simple—working from early morning until late at night, constantly busy with overtime, fully dedicating herself to the job. On weekends, she mostly stayed home, occasionally going out with colleagues for dinner, karaoke, or a bit of relaxation.
On one hand, he wanted her to unwind and enjoy herself. On the other, he absolutely hated seeing her laughing, drinking, and joking around with a bunch of men as if they were brothers. She was driving him to the brink of insanity.
Now, as she questioned him, he simply adjusted his sleeves calmly and said,
"I’ll be staying a little longer this time—maybe ten days, maybe half a month."
She became flustered, grabbing onto his sleeve in frustration.
"James, what’s wrong with you? Why are you staying so long? No way, no way—you can’t do this!"
He turned to her with an elegant smile, but his gaze was piercingly sharp.
"What are you afraid of?"
It wasn’t like he was some kind of monster—was she really that terrified of being around him? Did she despise him that much? Or... was she afraid that if they spent too much time together, she might actually fall for him?
The fierce, defiant look on her face instantly faded. She bit her lip, her expression complicated, then turned her head away, refusing to acknowledge him.
And so, his life became a constant back-and-forth between Hong Kong and the mainland, though most of the time, he stayed in the mainland, keeping an eye on her. He only left when something absolutely required his direct involvement.
With him personally overseeing everything, the TV station gradually began to thrive, and she... she started smiling more often.
