Please Let Me Go, My Contracted Ex-Husband.-Chapter 255-Say that again!
Bonnie finished her check-up and left the hospital, happy to find that the baby was perfectly fine. She smiled as she walked toward her car, not noticing the car parked around the corner.
She checked the time and thought it was still early. Perhaps he hadn’t left yet, so she decided to take another walk around outside before heading back to the office.
Little did she know, as soon as she entered her office and was about to sit down, the phone rang. Thinking it was someone else, she answered, only to hear his voice from the other end of the line.
"Come to my office."
She was caught off guard, stammering in surprise.
"Y-you... you haven’t gone back to Malaysia already?"
He snorted coldly, his voice tinged with inexplicable anger, sending a chill down her spine.
"Do you really want me gone that badly? Have you done something you don’t want me to know about?"
She instinctively denied it in a rush.
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
"Get up here now!"
He dismissively told her before hanging up the phone with a sharp click. She paced back and forth in her office, anxious and unsettled, wondering what he needed to see her about. Why did she have this bad feeling?
When she reached his office, he stood with his back to her. His tall figure blocked part of the light, making the room seem a bit darker. She couldn’t help but shiver.
James stood by the window, one hand in his pants pocket, the other shaking the drink in his glass. In his arms was the test result form he had just picked up from the hospital. It showed that she was already two months pregnant!
He couldn’t remember how he got back to the office. He felt as though he were in a daze, like he was dreaming. Because it was only in dreams that he could imagine her bearing his children.
Back in his office, he poured himself a strong shot of vodka and drank it in one gulp. The fiery burn slid down his throat into his chest, almost making him cry from the sting. Only then did he begin to calm down.
He never wanted to let her go, but now there was an even greater reason not to. How could he possibly let her go? He called her to come up, standing there alone, deep in thought.
He couldn’t help but think of the time on the test report. He couldn’t stop recalling the intimate moment they had shared. Since she never wanted children, he usually wore protection. But during that time, he felt unusually uncomfortable halfway through, so he turned her over and secretly took it off.
She was already exhausted, and with him taking her from behind, she didn’t notice his little move. When it came time for the final push, he had intended to pull out, but the overwhelming pleasure surged through him like an ocean, destroying his rationality. He held her tightly and released himself inside her.
Afterward, she angrily cursed at him, but he held her and kept reassuring her that it was the safe period, so there was no need to worry. She did the math herself, but didn’t speak to him for several days, and he was forced to abstain during that time.
After that, he never dared to do it again. But he never imagined that the one time would lead to her becoming pregnant with their child. Maybe it was fate. From the moment they met four years ago, they were destined to be entangled with each other.
Bonnie stood there for a long time, but there was no sign of him making a move. Her unease grew more intense. She really hated his solemn demeanor—it made her feel like she was an open book, with no secrets at all.
Just as she was about to take a step to escape, he suddenly turned around. She had no choice but to awkwardly stop. He glanced at her, pretending not to notice her little gesture, and walked over to the liquor cabinet. He poured a glass of strong vodka, the same as his, and walked back to hand it to her.
"Have a drink with me..."
Since she refused to admit anything, he would set a trap for her and let her walk right into it. If he wanted to play games with her, no one, not even Bonnie, could outmaneuver him.
Bonnie, smelling the alcohol, felt like she was going to puke, but she couldn’t show it in front of him. She gritted her teeth, furrowing her brow as she looked at him.
"Mr. Boston, I’m sure you know that my stomach is not very good, and this alcohol is so strong..."
"Oh? Is that so?"
He stood in front of her with the drink in his hand, smiling lightly as he asked,
"Is your stomach really that bad?"
His gaze, sharp and filled with subtle intent, made her spine tingle. She struggled to move her lips and barely managed to say two words.
"Yes..."
"There’s really no other reason?"
He placed the drink on the table next to them and turned back to smile at her as he asked again. She nervously avoided his eyes, instinctively raising a hand to her lower abdomen.
"Really none..."
"Then what is this?"
He suddenly stopped smiling, pulling a piece of paper from his pocket and holding it out in front of her. When she saw the paper, her face went pale instantly, because it was none other than her hospital test result.
Her fingers trembled as she held the paper, pointing at him angrily.
"You... you actually stalked me?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
No wonder as soon as she arrived at the office, he immediately called her up. It turned out he had been following her and found out about her pregnancy. She knew this old fox wasn’t easy to deal with, but she hadn’t expected him to notice so quickly.
In response to her accusation, James was also furious. He took a step forward, forcing her against the door.
"Bonnie, if I hadn’t noticed something was wrong, how long were you planning to hide this from me?"
Even with him pushing her to the point of no escape, she still stubbornly lifted her head to stare at him.
"I was planning to hide it for the rest of my life. What’s wrong? I can raise this child on my own!"
James was so enraged by her cold words that his mind went blank with fury. He reached out and roughly grabbed her chin, unable to stop himself as he growled.
"Say that again!"
He was using all his strength to grip her, and Bonnie felt like her jaw was about to be crushed. The pain, along with a strange, bitter feeling deep inside her, caused her eyes to fill with tears. Unable to control herself, she raised her voice and shouted at him.
"I said I was planning to hide it from you for the rest of my life! Haven’t you already grown tired of me? Didn’t we already get divorced? Do you want me to cry and beg you, holding onto your leg and asking you not to divorce me, not to leave me for the sake of the child?"
"Bonnie, if you could actually beg me like that, you’d truly be something!"
The tears in her eyes softened James’s heart in an instant. He muttered angrily under his breath, then released his grip on her chin.
