Raising A Few Wives in a Beast Apocalypse-Chapter 505: Serious talk with Matt
Muku, the girls, Matt, and his wife had a great dinner and got well acquainted.
It was a bit awkward for Matt and Jane because they were full after one bite while the others were still eating.
But other than that it was all good. They had a great time before Muku sent the couple back.
Of course, it was after showing off the castle and making Matt extremely envious. The girls just looked on while rolling their eyes.
After Muku sent the couple out, the girls had a small discussion.
"So what do you think about this friend of his?" Emily asked the others.
"I'm just glad it's not a female childhood friend with feelings for him like all those cliche anime situations" Surprisingly it was Elsa who replied.
And her reply seemed quite suspicious for someone who supposedly didn't care about Muku romantically.
"No no, don't misunderstand me. I said it for you all. I figured you wouldn't want any more competition right?" She immediately defended herself with some embarrassment in her voice.
"Sure. That's definitely why you said it. We totally understand" Emily replied with an "I don't believe you" look on her face.
"I somehow doubt that" Elsa replied defeatedly but didn't try to argue.
The other girls just giggled without saying anything.
While Elsa seemed to be oblivious to her change, they saw it clearly. The girl was also falling.
It had taken her a while. Way longer than the others but she too couldn't escape Muku's grasp.
What was so angering about the whole situation was how he wasn't even trying to get her. He never tries to get them yet they still fall. What a dangerous person to be around.
Though honestly maybe that was for the best. If he did try, maybe he would have had a hundred girls by then.
Just thinking about it gave them all a chill... 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
....
The following day...
Nothing worth noting happened. At least not worth noting to Muku's group. After all, he spent the morning looking for the beast Matt described.
It took a little while since it didn't actually live close by. And it was obviously Jade who tracked it down.
She still felt bad about how she spoke about Jack's death, so she didn't complain like usual when she did it.
Muku had completely forgotten about that occurrence since he had gotten used to her personality, so he was confused. However, he wasn't complaining about it either
If anything, it kind of made her seem a bit more enticing than usual. He promised himself to reward her that night... Though honestly he was probably just using her as an excuse to do what he wanted to do.
Anyway, they eventually found it. Yup, Jade's senses were so overpowered that they worked just as well in water.
After the beast was found, it was taken back to Matt in a half-dead state so that his people would be the ones to end it.
Of course, it wasn't the only one that suffered that day. All the water beasts Muku and Jade came across were killed.
Accept the unranked ones which honestly weren't too much different from normal animals.
And since animals were mostly extinct, someone had to take their place right?
Anyway, after that, they started looking for R6s close by while killing all the R1s-R5s they came across.
It was a bloody day for the beasts. The oceans were painted red.
You'd think that all that rampage would draw out at least one R6. But no, it seemed beasts were just like humans.
As long as they weren't personally affected, they wouldn't care if the world burned. Hell, they were more honest about it since they wouldn't toss around empty words while pretending to care.
So yeah, while it was an uneventful day for Muku and the girls. It was anything but that to everyone else.
It was a matter of different perspectives at the end.
Honestly, it was kinda expected. After all, they were still on the outskirts of an ocean so big it was unimaginable in old world views.
After that, the duo called it a day. Muku was planning on saying goodbye to Matt before leaving. And he didn't want to rush it. So they'd have a little get together that night at Matt's place...
....
In the evening...
Everyone was enjoying themselves at the party.
Matt's side was doing their best to curry favour with Muku's side without seeming too desperate. This made Matt extremely embarrassed but he couldn't do anything about it since many of them were his elders.
Fortunately, Muku and the girls didn't mind. They understood where the other side was coming from.
Of course, there was some bias in the mix. If Matt wasn't part of the group, they might not have been so understanding...
"So bro. Can you tell me more about that little world you took me to yesterday?" Matt asked Muku as they sat away from the group having some juice.
"There's nothing much to say. It's my personal world" Muku replied without getting into details. Obviously seeking a rise from Matt.
Unfortunately, it didn't succeed as Matt wasn't moved. He just rolled his eyes and continued speaking.
"I know that man. What I want to know is if you're willing to accept my people. I sensed that there were two settlements outside of the castle. We're willing to do whatever it takes"
"Oh? So that's why you asked. Okay, I'll answer you seriously then. My answer is, yes. I'll take as many people as you're willing to give. Hell, they don't even have to come out after going in. They can just start living like the apocalypse doesn't exist at all and won't ever have to face it again. As for the cost... Well, actually they'd have to accept my partner's blood essence. It won't affect them negatively. It will also give them a chance to summon her once in their lives. And that's all. Are you willing to accept that?" Muku replied seriously.
"What? Really? That's all? Are you doing this because we're friends? Because if that's it, then I refuse. I have my pride as well. I refuse to accept so many favours even if I know they are nothing to you" Matt suddenly turned around on his request.
"Pfft haha. As expected of my friend. Such pride. It might even rival mine. However, you're thinking too much bro. While your people won't lose anything or actively give anything. It will still benefit my group greatly. You're a bit away from it right now but you'll get there eventually. So let me tell you a bit about what it's like to be an R6 and a little thing called belief energy..." Muku replied in an amused tone. Clearly enjoying the situation.
After that, he went on to tell Matt everything he needed to know about why he said they'd benefit from his group even without actively doing anything.
"Actually, I was planning on asking y'all to come with me later on even if you didn't come to me. Fortunately, we felt the same" Muku finished off his explanation.
"Oh, so that's how it is. Truly a wondrous thing. And to think I thought you were all PR5s at best. But to think you're actually R6s... All of you. The world really never ceases to amaze me. Even after all the crazy things I have gone through. There's always something new. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there are people who can come back to life and others who are omnipresent. Maybe even those that can take over your body... Anyway, I guess if we're providing you with belief energy it's really a fair trade. No wonder you're so willing to accept them despite your dislike for humanity" Matt spoke in an awed tone.
He didn't know just how accurate he was on those guesses about people with crazy abilities. After all, they were all present in Muku's group.
The girls who were listening in couldn't help but smile weirdly.
Of course, Muku didn't say anything about that. He was afraid it might give Matt a heart attack even though Evolvers should be above such things.
"Wait. How do you know about my disdain for humanity?" Muku was surprised. He didn't remember making any comments that suggested such since they met. So how did Matt know? Everything else could be set aside until he got his answer.
After all, maybe it was written on his face.
"Bruh. You used to curse humanity almost every day back then. It all started the day you learned how to surf the internet. I don't know what you saw, but I have never seen a kid who hates humanity more than you did back then. As for now, I figured it was likely still the same. From your response I guess I was right" Matt replied with a smug look on his face.
"Oh..m I forgot about that. Not the hate or what I saw. But the part where I was so vocal about it. Anyway, that doesn't matter now. Are you going to tell your people today or tomorrow? We're leaving tomorrow so..." Muku changed topics. He didn't want to remember his embarrassing past.
Especially when those vixens were eavesdropping, they'll definitely tease him later.
"I'll tell them tonight so that they prepare. I don't want to delay you after all. And really thanks for this. It might be a small matter to you and you'll get belief energy or whatever. But you're giving my people more than just hope for the future. You're giving them a guarantee. Not many can do that. Hell, I don't think any other can do it..." Matt spoke seriously.
"Anytime bro. I know you'd do the same for me" Muku replied simply...
