Reborn As A Bastard Child: Woah! I'm Super Overpowered-Chapter 17: Setting off on an adventure
Chapter 17: Setting off on an adventure
Raven's eyes fluttered open early the next morning from a refreshing slumber. The sun was not up wet, and a liquid darkness hung loosely around him.
The occasional patter of the morning mist falling down as droplets of water enhanced the soothing atmosphere. A few birds chirped in the distance, urging their little ones to wake up.
Sitting up, he could hear the crackling of a nearby bonfire.
Dusky golden flames danced about, shooing the darkness away.
A wild boar was hung above it, slowly being roasted. The appetizing aroma of breakfast hung wafted to Raven's nostrils, and his stomach promptly grumbled, signalling that it was the perfect time to have a hearty meal.
Hastily washing up in the river Luna, he hastened to take a seat beside the fire.
Eric had already prepared a large portion of roasted boar meat for him, and Raven dug in with gusto.
Updated from freewёbnoνel.com.
Finishing his meal, Raven hastily bid his farewells to Eric and his pals and set off for his adventure.
He went to the path he had carved out with the first punch that had landed on a poor willow tree.
The path ... well it could not really be called a path, well whatever!
It was an area solely consisting of trees uprooted at various angles, with lichens and fungi rearing up their dainty heads from the ground around them, happy and contented with their new home.
It was certainly not a place one can walk upon.
Raven was not bothered though.
He did not plan on walking anyways.
The system's familiar notification soon arrived as he stood calmly, observing his surroundings.
[Suitable terrain detected
Skill: Qinggong activates]
Initially, the Demantoid Wilderness was too dense for even Qinggong to penetrate. So Raven had to resort to this broken path to continue his journey.
Sure, he could have followed the River Luna. But he wasn't sure if by that way he would reach the Mother Tree or not.
Plus, all those people who disappeared were also navigating through the river.
This made Raven believe that for him at least, travelling on the land would be safer.
Using the skill Qinggong, he swiftly set off on the path, whistling a cheerful tune.
He was unhurried, as the system had already informed him that it would take two entire days to reach out hulking tree over the horizon using Qinggong.
Raven when had complained that two days was too long, the system had given him a stern reprimanding, informing him that if he had attempted to traverse the entire length by ordinary means, even with his maxed out agility stats, it would have taken him an entire month.
This had shut Raven up completely.
After an hour and half of carelessly moving along the path, suddenly something disturbing occurred.
His Qinggong skill wore off.
And a horde of system notifications assaulted his senses.

Raven whistled. Balthazar Ralph Ignaz, huh? That sounded awfully like one of his ancestors. He has to conquer his ancestor's grave?
Sounds like fun.
"Hell yeah, accept the quest." Raven called out to the system.
As Raven's existence blinked away from that particular coordinate, only one thought circulated in Raven's mind.
