Reborn As A Doomsday Villainess-Chapter 121: Captured (4)
Chapter 121: Captured (4)
"Took longer than I thought. These two must’ve been trained."
"Check her first. If she’s dead, that’ll be a mess to clean up. The higher-ups still want her for questioning."
Their footsteps. Slow and measured.
The guards didn’t rush in. They were careful—experienced. But not enough.
The moment one of them knelt beside Qingran, reaching for her pulse, she moved.
Her eyes snapped open, hand shooting up to grab his wrist.
Before he could shout, her elbow slammed into his throat. He crumpled soundlessly.
Feng Yizhou surged forward at the same time, catching the second man before he could reach for his weapon.
A swift strike to the temple and the man dropped like a stone.
Two bodies had been brought down as quietly as possible.
They dragged them inside quickly and resealed the door.
Qingran crouched by one of the guards and began unbuckling his tactical belt, pulling free the ID badge and scanning the weapon holster.
"This one’s name is Lu Han. His badge grants mid-level access. Not high enough to reach the command center, but we’ll move faster through corridors now."
Feng Yizhou handed her the earpiece he retrieved from the other man. "Let’s listen in. They’ll be wondering why no one checked in."
Qingran nodded, slotting the device into her ear.
Static... then—
"Unit B, report. Did the targets lose consciousness?"
She pressed a button on the comms device and lowered her voice, bringing it to Feng Yizhou.
She was the only woman in the place, it would be suspicious for her to answer the call.
"Confirmed. Both are down. No movement. Requesting maintenance crew for transfer."
A pause and then a reply came out.
"Copy that. Maintenance unit dispatched. Ten minutes."
She clicked it off.
"Alright, let’s switch clothes and get out of here. We’re heading to the command center, once we take out their leaders, the rest men won’t try to fight."
Feng Yizhou nodded, already pulling the unconscious guard’s tactical vest off. Qingran quickly followed suit, slipping out of her restraints and standing up to help him. The two guards’ uniforms fit them well enough, though Qingran had to adjust the belt to avoid it hanging too loosely on her. She pulled the hood up over her head to cover her face, looking less like a prisoner and more like someone who belonged in this facility.
"I’ll take point," Feng Yizhou said, securing the final strap on his uniform. "You cover our back."
Qingran gave a small nod, glancing at the two bodies on the ground one last time.
It would only be a matter of time before someone realized they were gone, but by then, they’d already be far enough ahead to cause chaos.
They moved swiftly, taking care to keep their footsteps light as they exited the small room.
The ventilation system hummed above, and the faint hum of machinery from deeper within the complex hinted at the scale of the operation they were about to disrupt.
Feng Yizhou led the way through a series of narrow corridors, his sharp eyes scanning every door and every corner.
They passed a few guards along the way, but with their new uniforms, no one paid them any attention.
They kept their faces down, making sure to avoid any eye contact. Their presence didn’t raise suspicion, and they pushed forward, closer to the heart of the complex.
Qingran listened intently to the comms, waiting for any sign that the maintenance team was nearing.
Ten minutes wasn’t a lot of time, but it was enough to get to their destination and make their move.
"Take the next left," Qingran whispered as they approached an intersection. "That leads to the command center."
Feng Yizhou didn’t hesitate. They rounded the corner, and the atmosphere changed immediately.
The walls were sleek, lined with high-tech panels and guarded doors. The heart of the operation was just beyond them.
"We can’t let them send a warning," Qingran said, eyes narrowing as she spotted two guards standing just outside a reinforced door. "We need to take them out quietly. Can you handle it?"
Feng Yizhou cracked his knuckles, his smile gleaming with confidence. "Leave it to me."
Without another word, he stepped forward. His movements were like liquid—fluid, quiet, and precise.
He crossed the distance between them in an instant, grabbing one guard from behind and pinning him against the wall with a hand over his mouth.
A sharp twist, and the guard’s body went limp, dropping silently to the ground.
The second guard turned just in time to see his partner fall, but he was too slow. A quick strike to the neck, and he collapsed without a sound.
Qingran glanced down at the unconscious bodies. "Nice work. Now let’s get in there."
Feng Yizhou nodded and took the lead once more. He approached one of the men and took the access pass, then he turned to the door, he swiped the card and It slid open with a soft hiss, as they slipped inside.
The command center was busy, filled with monitors showing various sections of the facility, armed personnel moving around, and a series of maps highlighting areas of interest.
At the far end of the room, three figures were seated behind a large desk—two men and one woman—arguing over the next steps in their operations. They didn’t notice the pair of infiltrators entering.
Qingran’s eyes narrowed as she scanned the room, her focus immediately locking on the woman at the desk.
The others were just men, easy targets. But this woman—there was something in her posture, her confident manner—it was clear she held power here. She would be their first target. freёweɓnovel.com
Feng Yizhou caught her eye, silently acknowledging her plan. He moved to the side, positioning himself to take out one of the men at the desk. Qingran didn’t hesitate.
With a quiet movement, she ignited the tip of her finger with azure flame, keeping it contained.
She raised her hand slightly, aiming for the woman’s throat. A subtle flick of her wrist, and the flame shot forward, it was a precise strike.
The woman gasped as the searing heat brushed against her skin, and before she could react, Qingran closed the distance in a single stride.
A sharp jab to the woman’s pressure point, and she slumped in her chair, unconscious but alive.
Feng Yizhou was already moving, slipping into position to take out the last guard.
With a swift twist of his body, he struck the man’s neck with his elbow, rendering him unconscious before he could even raise an alarm.
The room fell silent, the only sound was the soft hum of the computers.
Qingran approached the unconscious woman, swiftly grabbing her identification and securing it in her pocket.
