Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 104: Ch : There is a Rat in the Farm- Part 2
"Everyone, get ready. We need to spread these traps so that we can catch all the rats. Make sure to spread them as far as you can for me."
Clara yelled with a determined look on her face. The fire in her eyes made everyone else give her some space.
"Clara sure is...spirited today. I wonder if it is because she is frustrated..."
"My dear vegetables, how dare those thieves try to bag them..."
"No, I think it’s more than that at this point. She seemed too invested in her vegetables to care about frustration."
Emperor pointed out, and Lilianna nodded. Meanwhile, Andrew and Seraphina installed the traps Clara had bought from the shop around her farm.
It seemed like it was too extreme of a reaction, but Clara did not seem to be in a mood to listen.
"Are you sure we should be doing something like this? These traps don’t really seem...trustworthy investments."
Seraphina pointed out as she laid down the last trap.
"Don’t worry. These traps are just the start. I am going to keep an eye out here myself to catch those thieves and drive them out from my farm. How dare they break my tomatoes like this...."
Clara raged, and everyone else decided that it was not worth talking to her at the moment.
Lilianna kneeled down to look at the plant and quickly noticed the details Clara was missing. The stem of the plant was cut too well for it to have been an animal...unless the animal was intelligent.
But something about this situation did seem as if it was the work of an animal.
"Isn’t this plant cut too...cleanly for an animal?"
She asked Emperor, who nodded. Suddenly, things started to make sense for Lilianna, and she also realized why no one had tried to stop Clara from setting up traps.
They were not catching animals, but human thieves that had snuck around in this garden to steal from them.
But still...
"Isn’t this a little too much? Is any human even going to fall for these traps?"
She asked, and Emperor shrugged.
"Let’s head in now and let these traps do their work. By the end of tomorrow, we will have caught our thief for sure."
Clara promised herself, and no one spoke against her. They quickly went inside and closed the door, but their attention remained on the garden.

"Sister, do you have more food to eat? We ran out of our supplies."
Jenna looked at the leader of the gang she had brought to Andrew’s land with an annoyed expression.
"What do you mean you ran out of supplies? I just gave them to you yesterday. Do you even know how much food it was...?"
She asked, and the leader just shrugged.
"It was not that much food. It is not my fault you eat like a bird and don’t realize how much food normal people eat. The fault is yours. Now go and get us more food."
The leader pointed out, causing Jenna to grit her teeth.
She had a lot to say to this leader and the people she was stuck with, but she swallowed her words and decided to get them more food.
The main reason she did this was because she did not want them to cause too much noise and alert Andrew about their presence.
"Fine, I will go and get you more food-"
"No wait, sis. We will go with you as well. We want you to show us where the food is in case you are out and we need to make a supply run."
The leader asked, and Jenna tensed.
"No way-! I will not...fine."
The look on the leader’s face told her that she had better agree, or he would do something stupid. So she and the group headed to the shed, and she carefully opened the door to get more food.
"I am the only one who can enter this room. You all wait for me out here."
She told them this, but it was obviously not true. Still, the others believed her because the system message popped up.
[Truth-And-Lies has applied its effect. You have become the only person capable of entering this room. The effect will last as long as people continue to believe your words.]
"Tsk, what a hassle. Fine. Go and get us some food."
The leader grumbled, and she quickly went inside to get more food.
When she came back out, the others were nowhere to be seen, and she immediately looked around. They were crowding around something, and she quickly made her way to them as well.
"What are you looking at-"
She looked at the dead body as well and held back the urge to scream. The fairy worker stood not too far away, not doing much at that point.
"Hey, do you know who this is...?"
The leader asked, and Jenna immediately wanted to tell him she did not know. But she paused and looked at the fairy worker.
It was obvious that this person had been left here deliberately by Andrew for some reason, and if so, then it was likely not safe for them to be here. He could decide to visit anyway and discover them.
But maybe her ability could give her more information...
"I do know this person. He used to be my servant whom I cherished like a brother. Andrew must have kept his body safe here for me to find later. Ah, he likes me so much..."
She spoke, just to see if her ability would help her or not. The others had understanding faces at her words.
[Truth-And-Lies has applied its effect. You have gained knowledge about ’puppet’. You have gained control as the master of the puppet. The effect will last as long as people continue to believe your words.]
The system suddenly chimed, and Jenna cursed.
’What the hell is this...? Master...? Puppet...? Was this not a dead body?’
She questioned, and suddenly, the puppet opened its eyes and looked at her.
"Tsk, you human-! What did you do to me...I...ugh, I am going to kill you-!"
The puppet yelled and attacked her, but was blocked by a system shield.
[A puppet is not allowed to attack their master. Please act according to your role as a puppet.]
"Master? This human is no master of mine. I am my own person."
The puppet confirmed, and the system flashed red.
[The effect of Truth-And-Lies has expired. Your truth has been exposed. The effect on the puppet will be removed.]
The bond faded, and the puppet took a step forward, only to stagger as the fairy worker made it fall asleep once more.
