Reborn as the General's Useless Daughter-Chapter 303: At the Sapphire’s Exchange (Part-1)
The next morning, Zora rose early.
The night before, they had heard of the Sapphire’s Exchange in the imperial city of Leon Empire, a place said to gather countless treasures sought after by Spirit Warriors.
They had originally planned to visit it then, but Ragnor’s sudden appearance had wasted too much time, forcing them to postpone the trip.
Now, with a new day breaking and matters temporarily settled, it was finally time to see what the famed Sapphire’s Exchange had to offer.
By the time Zora stepped out of her room, Reesa and the others were already waiting in the corridor.
To them, staying at this inn felt far more comfortable than living inside Thunderclap Academy. Given Thunderclap Academy’s attitude toward them, moving in there would only invite unnecessary frustration.
Now that they were staying outside, their days felt freer. They could go wherever they wished without restraint, and no one could glare at them with hidden agendas.
"Zora, you’re finally here!" Reesa beamed, hurrying over with an irrepressible smile.
Zora nodded lightly. Seeing that Reesa’s mood hadn’t been affected in the slightest by the academy exchange incident, she couldn’t help but smile as well. To Reesa, coming to Leon Empire was more like a sightseeing trip than a tense competition.
She had to admit it. Reesa’s mentality was enviable. No matter what happened, her mood rarely dipped.
And it wasn’t just Zora who felt this way. Tiffany and the others all agreed that Reesa was like a walking ray of sunshine. Just being around her made everything feel lighter.
"Since everyone’s here, let’s go," Raphael said, glancing around with a smile.
The Sapphire’s Exchange was famous throughout the imperial city. They didn’t even need to ask twice. Anyone they questioned could point them in the right direction.
When the group arrived, their gazes were immediately drawn to the purple-black building before them.
The structure was elegant yet imposing. Every line and corner spoke of careful craftsmanship, and a deep sense of heritage radiated from it, stirring an unconscious sense of awe.
The Sapphire’s Exchange had three floors.
The first floor sold medicinal ingredients, potions, and pills required by Spirit Warriors and Alchemists. The second floor dealt in weapons. As for the third floor, it was dedicated to inscriptions.
Just that third floor alone was enough to secure the Sapphire’s Exchange’s unrivaled status.
Inscriptions were rare, something most Spirit Warriors could only dream of encountering. Yet the Sapphire’s Exchange openly sold them. How could Spirit Warriors not flock here?
The group slowly entered the building. The moment they stepped inside, they realized just how thriving the business was. Spirit Warriors filled the hall, browsing and purchasing herbs without pause.
Potions and pills were consumables. Every Spirit Warrior needed them, and in large quantities. It was no wonder Sapphire’s Exchange’s supply was always in high demand.
The interior layout felt refined and comfortable, far more pleasant than ordinary shops. The atmosphere itself made people linger.
Zora and the others couldn’t help but admire it. The Sapphire’s Exchange truly lived up to its reputation. Even a casual glance was enough to broaden one’s horizons.
"The selection of medicinal herbs, potions, and pills here is incredible," Reesa said excitedly, looking around. "So many rare ones that are almost impossible to find elsewhere!"
Of course, the prices were naturally high, but more often than not, the real problem wasn’t money. It was availability.
Having everything gathered in one place like this saved Spirit Warriors endless trouble.
Baldwin smiled brightly as he praised. "Leon Empire is a major nation. There are far more alchemists here than in smaller kingdoms. Of course, their resources can’t be compared."
Reesa nodded in agreement. Big nations really were different. Just one visit here felt like opening a new world.
"If anyone needs medicinal herbs," Alaric Von Seraph said calmly, "you can buy them here. The prices are fair, and you won’t be losing out."
With that, the group began to disperse slightly, each drawn toward what they needed most, ready to explore the famed Sapphire’s Exchange in earnest.
For a while, everyone’s attention was fixed on the counter, carefully selecting the medicinal herbs they needed.
Before setting out for the Leon Empire, they had all prepared ample funds. If they happened upon something useful, there was no reason to hold back.
Zora also glanced over the shelves of herbs, potions, and pills, but she had no intention of buying anything. Most of this stuff held little attraction for her. As an alchemist with boundless knowledge, she was confident that she could make all of those potions put in the display.
Just as Reesa and the others were comparing prices and qualities, a familiar, irritating voice rang out from behind them.
"Well, well. I was wondering who it might be. Turns out it’s the people who couldn’t even prove their identities at the gate."
Drusilla’s eyes gleamed with smug ridicule. Yesterday, the presence of the Tutors had restrained her, leaving her no chance to vent her resentment. Today, she had come to Sapphire’s Exchange out of curiosity, never expecting to run into Zora’s group again.
What a coincidence. Or perhaps... fate was playing tricks.
Zora and the others slowly turned around. Upon seeing the group from Lunar Academy, their expressions cooled.
"Tsk," Reesa clicked her tongue without hesitation. "I really should’ve checked my luck before coming out today. Running into eyesores like this first thing is terrible for one’s mood."
Drusilla’s face darkened, but she quickly regained her composure and sneered. "At least I’m better off than people who get blocked at the door and can’t even step inside."
Zora shot her an indifferent glance, then turned calmly to Reesa. "Why bother with mad dogs? They bark wherever they go. Are you really going to bark back at them?"
Her tone was cool and dismissive, as though she were swatting away flies.
Reesa’s eyes lit up, and she immediately gave a thumbs-up. "Exactly! Why waste breath on them?"
With that, she turned back around and resumed choosing her herbs, as if the Lunar Academy group no longer existed.
Drusilla and the others stiffened, their expressions turning ugly. They had come looking to mock others, only to be mocked into silence instead.
"Zora, don’t go too far!" Ophelia couldn’t help but shout.
Zora let out a faint, mocking laugh. "That’s really amusing. From beginning to end, you’re the ones picking fights. And now you’re telling me not to go too far? Your logic is... impressive."
Her gaze sharpened as she looked at Drusilla and the others, her voice steady but forceful. "If you want to spar, then say it openly. We’ll accompany you to the end. If not, then shut up and stop causing trouble."
The words carried weight. She made it clear that she had no patience left for pointless provocation.
At that, Drusilla and her group exchanged uneasy glances.
Their eyes instinctively drifted toward Ignar Dragovic, only to find him already at another counter, quietly selecting potions as if none of this concerned him.
It was obvious. Ignar had no interest in their quarrel.
And if things escalated into another fight like last time...
Drusilla felt her scalp go numb just thinking about it.
After a moment of silent frustration, the sisters finally swallowed their anger and abandoned the idea of pushing further.
For now, at least, this confrontation ended with words alone.
Eventually, Reesa and the others finished selecting their medicinal herbs and headed up to the second floor of Sapphire’s Exchange.
"I’ve heard that Sapphire’s Exchange’s weapons are especially famous," Tiffany said with a bright smile. "If we don’t find anything suitable, at least we can take a look. If something fits, we might as well replace our old weapons."
At her words, interest lit up on everyone’s faces. As their cultivation advanced, many of their current weapons were starting to feel inadequate. A weapon that truly suited them could greatly improve their combat strength. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"I wonder whether the weapons here will live up to the reputation," Raphael said with a faint smile, his peach-blossom eyes gleaming with curiosity.
The moment they stepped onto the second floor, however, all doubts vanished.
Rows upon rows of weapons were displayed before them, far more than they had imagined. Blades gleamed coldly under the light, while the air itself seemed to hum with restrained power.
Swords, sabers, spears, halberds, staffs, whips... everything was there. The weapons were neatly categorized by type and grade, their prices clearly marked, making it easy to browse at a glance.
"Guests, are you here to purchase weapons?"
A female attendant approached with a courteous smile. Her demeanor was gentle and professional, instantly putting people at ease.
"I’m looking for a sword," Marcus replied.
