An explosion and flashes of radiance spread across as the two unique skills collided. What was a moment felt like an eternity. But ultimately, the two attacks offset each other. Meanwhile, Lamda and Zephyr were blown backward in the aftermath.

"—tch!"

Lamda tried to take control over his body as his body staggered backward heavily, while propping the big shield ahead in anticipation of any surprise attack. At the same time, he gave a quick glance to his HP—the earlier confrontation had chipped away 20% of his HP.

He grimaced, visualising what would've happened had he taken that attack unguarded. He shook his head, and raced his brain for his next move—should he go for recovery or mount an attack? The dilemma didn't last a moment and he immediately formed his decision.

He was a tank, and yet he lost 1/5th of his HP. Surely, Brave had to have taken more damage than him, right? He had heard rumours that Brave also had healing skills. Then his foremost priority was to cut his opponent from using any recovery thing, and push on no matter what.

"HAAAAA!!"

As the cloud of smoke lingers around the area, Lamda charges forth, using no skill. His gaze locked on Brave the instant he cut through smoke, and he was right! Brave had just put himself to his feet, and his HP had somewhat around 70%. This was his chance!

"I am not giving up! Take it!"

"«Short Beam»!"

Lamda's enthusiasm was shared by their long-ranged beam attacker, as he launched his own attack. They're going to snatch away any moment of respite Brave might use to heal himself. Though the shot missed again as Brave twisted and skipped around reflexively. Lamda wasn't disappointed however. He had already taken account of it, and all that was required was to cut him from any chance of healing magic.

In the timeframe fired shot had forced Brave to dodge, Lamda had crept close enough that Brave was now within his sword's range.

"I got you!"

Lamda's sword aimed at Brave, who defended against it with his shield, and followed with a counterattack. But that, too, was within the margin of expectation. Brave's sword lit up in effect.

"You're tough, you know! «Quick Strike»!"

The attack cut toward him with a blinding speed. And it appeared to be a two-hit attack too. Lamda had already been forced on receiving end by the moment he deduced his opponent's move, such was the speed at which Brave's attack followed. He blocked one using his shield, but the second hit struck him directly, bringing his HP to 70%.

Fortunately, he knew he could afford that much with his comrade's support.

"«Tri-Canon»!"

"«Twin Gale»!"

Three cannon shots raced toward Brave, each tracing the trajectory at a tricky angle that read possible manoeuvring target might make under attack. The twin sword girl followed within the same split moment, skidding through the ground as she launched quick strikes.

They had to stack more. Lamda, too, joined and unleashed a formidable skill. Brave might be strong, but the three stacked attacks should push even him.

"What will you do now, eh?! —«Sacred Sword - Ultimate Slash»!"

A giant sword materialises, much in the same vein as when he had invoked «Ultimate Thrust», and swung at Brave. It was evident the skill was meant to be use from a distance, though it was a fact that this would surely deal damage beyond Brave's HP if it landed on him. And if he choose to dodge or tank it, Brave still would have his comrade's attack to deal with.

But, however step Lamda presumed he was ahead against him, Brave once again overturned his expectation.

"«Unique Skill - «Brave Heart»!"

Lamda didn't even get so much as to think 'what did—' before the huge sword carved into the ground. The skill had cut through the place he had wanted, albeit—

"!! No... there's no feedback! He dodged my attack!"

He swiftly ran his gaze over, attempting to locate Brave's shadow amidst the cloud of dust. He tried, but to no avail. And just as his gaze darted around, he heard a skill being activated.

"«Shine Lightning»!"

"Kyaa!"

"«Sonic Sword»!"

"Hu—aargh!"

"What—what happened?!"

A moment later, he caught up to groan of his friend.

Zephyr had used his AoE lightning skill to target the twin sword girl, reaping the remaining silver of her HP, eliminating her. His movement continued nevertheless, and within the same timeframe, he used his dash and attack skill to close up to the beam user. Lamda had just caught up to it.

"Tch, too much distance. —«Guard Link»!"

Realising he would be too late to catch up with them, he used a teammate cover skill, promptly wedging himself between Brave and his teammate with a blinding speed. But he also noticed Brave's agility was beyond him to catch up this late.

"Heh! «Holy Sword»!"

"Wh—ahhhh?!"

A flash of light targeted the beam user, who twitched at first and then all movements ceased, eventually a teleportation circle appeared beneath him, exiting him from the match.

"Grh!"

What in the name of the dungeon was that lightspeed-esque strike, and the power?! Lamda was baffled, his thoughts entirely all over about the scene he witnessed.

The beam user was a rearguard, so there was nothing special about him in term of defense, regardless he was Lv58, quite a skill guy from «Class-5». Yet, before that flash of radiance, everything was like a paper as it shredded away the defense. Even if the force of attack could've somehow mitigated, the speed at which skill targeted him was unbelievable.

It was truly a question how did Brave managed to escape their pincer—Lamda paused here, suddenly noticing Brave's HP now hovered at 60% mark. No, he definitely didn't escape unscathed for sure.

He could make a guess already; since his skill harbored the strength to wipe him, Brave made his effort to escape atleast his attack, and consequently, got struck by his eliminated comrades's attack. Still, he went through without backing down, and was succesful in eliminating them.

However if that was so, damage Brave took didn't appear any significant, which means... the second unique skill he heard him using had to have an all-stats empowering effect.

He knew first hand it was possible to use a second unique skill when advancing from basic job to advanced job. It was sufficient to say Brave had played his second trump card.

Lamda also had two unique skill, but the one he had from basic job was unfortunately a defense skill, which was barely any addition to their current predicament.

Meanwhile, Lamda's «Link Guard» had obviously failed with the elimination of his teammate, thus automatically cancelling. That said, the skill had already put him in front of Brave.

What to do? Lamda felt his brain clogging up at the sudden situation—no! He couldn't afford to dilly dally. In that case, push on! He bring out his reserved skill.

"«Judgement Saber»!"

It was a 4th order skill, one whose strength lies beyond the «Sacred Sword». It was a trump card meant to be used against Brave. Though the strength comes at the price of huge mana drain, hence why it had kept apart, but the steps to be taken now then never.

"Haaaaaaaaaaa!"

Lamda channeled every ounce of his strength in this one last strike, a big gamble undoubtedly. He discarded the big shield, and grasped the sword with both hands, swinging it down.

The sword radiated a pure white brilliance, the blade elongating to 5m in length. Boasting an adequate AoE, plus he had made his move while Brave had just eliminated his comrade, it was an inevitable strike.

"It's my win! Braaaaaaaveeeee!"

He could hear his cry, something that involuntarily escaped from him. For this strike carried his hope, it was bound to be. It was the first time he had been worked up to this extent, so his tension had been all time high.

It was his greatest strike, which if it proceed as he assumed, should be etched into this moment as one unforgettable moment. With nerves taut, Lamda's believed so in his current state. Alas—

"Huh?"

A dumbfounded gasp, something he had never expected to make when the adrenaline pumped through his veins to allow anything but a war cry, unwittingly escaped his mouth.

It occured because he noticed Brave's stance, one that he had used against his «Excalibur».

"Unique Skill - «Brave Slash»!"

What in the name of...?

Skills were supposed to have cooldown, hence why they couldn't be used in succession. The conditions were even more stringent when it was about unique skills. You could go and pop a drink, even guzzle it down completely, before the cooldown was finally over.

There's no way enough duration had elapsed since their clash of unique skill. Heck, he could bet not even 2 minutes had transpired, while his «Excalibur» itself had a 5 minute CD.

As much baffled he was, Brave had undoubtedly fired his unique skill.

The resultant slash away the giant sword, and then slammed into Lamda. Unsurprisingly, it was an irrefutable knowledge—a skill could never surpass a unique skill.

"I must say, I had a blast. But—«Lightning Banisher»!"

The sword, engulfed within the explosive energy of flame and lightning element, a 4th order skill, took the shape of reaper's scythe in Lamda's vision. Enraged lightning downpour over him, deciding the outcome.

"Nooooooo——"

The skill boasted an unfathomable power, and drain down every ounce of his HP, eliminating him.
