Reincarnated in the game world ~ A gamer's beginning to [Dungeon job hunting recommendation]-Chapter 628Vol. 11 - - Ticking Death Dungeon.
The next day, after classes.
I met «Unrestricted Mobius» Yumiki-senpai, the 3rd year student of «Investigation Department» after leaving a contact with her.
"Well, well. Now it's pleasure a mine to be of your service already, Zephyr-kun"
"Likewise, your quick response is a big help."
"Of course I have to, it's your request after all. So I am expecting more business from you~."
"Heh, I expect nothing less from you, Yumiki-senpai."
Slightly ruffling her long, purple hair, Yumiki-senpai said with a wink. As expected of a senior, her adult charm was off the chart.
I had contacted her for her side buisness—information dealer, which he ran aside from being a part of Academy News guild «Birdwatch of Academy» member.
"As I had mentioned in the chat, I would like you to disseminate the information that Tabase-senpai may switch guild to «Eden»."
"Hmm, 'may', and not 'is'? Is this all? You know, I can also do something like making «Temple Saber» insider intel public."
"Wow, just by name, it has such a scary hint to it. Please, no."
So she already had some information on Tabasa-senpai huh. ...That smile of hers was throwing me off.
But, then again, quite a lot of information had already been out about them. So it might be too late for any sort of damage control. I didn't do that much for my plan however.
"Fufu, 'Tis just a joke. And the second thing you'd asked for, the composition of «Temple Saber», right? Everything's on this paper."
"Woah, already?!"
The page Yumiki-senpai handed me had the details I requested, including «Temple Saber» member's profile, their jobs, and the strategy and measures they'd taken in their guild battle so far. And she had arranged it in less than a day. Impressive, was all I could think of.
This was the data I had asked her to gather. Even if their fame waning, «Temple Saber» once reigned the top of A-rank guild position, contrast to the D-rank guild «Eden» was. It would be a foolish move to let down the guard, so I had wanted to sketch out my countermeasure.
"Being fast is my speciality. Impressed?"
"Yup, and pretty grateful."
"Though, I just happened to have that information since many people are hunting for it, for the fame of the former A-rank. The layout was all set, and the one I handed you is actually one of the many I have sold so far."
Hmm, was it that? Since she already had done the work, it barely had any value? I should keep it in my mind for later.
"Alright, I need to go then, Zephyr-kun. I have other errands to run, see ya next time~"
"Okay. I will be counting on you if I need your help again, Yumiki-senpai."
And saying her piece, Yumiki-senpai left off with a graceful gait like a model. She was cool. She was very much the spitting image of a cool senior I hoped to have in my senior days.
After seeing Senpai off, I turned to head for the dungeon for my next meeting.
The place I came to was an Int-mid dungeon. When I made it to them, Sierra, Aegis, and Reglam had already arrived, alongside Tabase-senpai. I joined them, and introduced Tabase-senpai.
"I should be introducing myself, I guess. I am Tabase, from Support Department Year 3 Class 1. At present, I am affiliated to «Temple Saber», however my resignation procedure is underway, and I am seeking to join «Eden». I hope to be of help today."
Finishing her introduction, Tabase-senpai bowed her head deeply.
"I am Reglam, from Combat Department Year 1 Class 8. Likewise, I would like to learn from you."
From «Eden», Reglam took the lead in introducing himself, performing an elegant bow. Tut-tut, he truly was a spitting image of a graceful scion.
Though, our other member, Aegis, was pretty shaken up. As soon as she was over it, she pressed pm Senpai out of fluster.
"T-Tabase-senpai?! Just what had befell that you, the guildmaster, is leaving «Temple Saber» to join «Eden»!?"
Right. Since she was initially a member of «Temple Saber» subordinate guild, it made sense she would be acquainted with the parent guild's seniors. But I couldn't say I was astonished either at the new revelation. Sub-guildmaster, huh? Now that was news to me, too. If Sierra ever decided to do the same...... never mind, I don't even want to think about it.
"You're overthinking. It's impossible that I leave «Eden»." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"I, I see."
My thoughts must have shown up on my face. Sierra noticed that when I took a quick glance at her. Though I do hope she didn't give those stern stares right after such heartwarming words.
In amidst our exchange, Tabase-sensei had calmed down Aegis at last. A color of understanding dyed Aegis' face when she learned the details. After all, it was something precious she had lost in the guild battle.
"It would be really a pleasure to have you in «Eden», Tabase-senpai. Though, do you know about «White Throne»......"
"I know, and I am prepared for it. I just want to exhaust every option I find."
The situation pertaining to the «White Throne» had already been briefed to her, though Senpai said she wouldn't be giving up. Now, we weren't going to do it unconditionally, but she would have a fair chance for it.
But first of all, I needed to know about Tabase-senpai's actual performance, and that's why, we were where we were supposed to—Dungeon. Then again, I had chosen this specific dungeon for more than one reason.
"I have elected this dungeon—the intermediate-mid «The Wicked Flower of Withered Trees»—to learn about Tabase-senpai's ability, and help Reglam in level up."
"......«The Bleak Forest of the Ticking Death» huh..."
Reglam murmured with a stout expression. What he described was the general alias other students prefer to call this dungeon. The reason was, obviously, «Instant Death» abnormal ailment that one could infer from the name.
It was the first dungeon where monsters capable of inflicting these ailments appeared. You just couldn't do this dungeon without an excellent healer. The stringent requirement also made it an unpopular dungeon among students.
But, to put it into another perspective, the dungeon didn’t particularly require much effort as long as you have that one crucial piece—a competent healer. So, this was the perfect ground to try out Tabase-senpai's skill and job development.
Well, it was quite opposite of what we usually do, I know, but there would be no time to guide her in perfect healer build with graduation only half an year away. Hence, instead of latent potential, I was trying to gauge Senpai's utility value. And that was an important aspect that shouldn't be missed. What could be a better playground, if not dungeon, for that?
The dungeon was predominantly flourishing with monsters called «Wicked Flower of Madness», capable of inflicting «Instant Death» debuffs by spreading their pollen against vanguard. Once the effect was up, you'd have 30 seconds to cure it, or once its time out, even a complete HP bar wouldn't save them from being knocked out of the fight.
Instant Death was one of the OP debuffs, and the 30 second was rather still a grace. Because, with each step up in difficulty of the dungeon, the lesser the countdown would turn. In the advanced dungeons, Instant Death played out at its full power, and if you somehow stumbled on it, it would be a no-countdown immediate knock out.
Our current team was mostly vanguard oriented, much because Instant Death in this dungeon was merely a tutorial, something to learn from. As long healers could cast debuff removal, rest was easy. And, I was still there to prevent the entire team from getting knocked out.
"Will you be fine, Reglam."
"You can be rest assured. If I falter at mere Instant Death, how can I hope to advance forward?"
"What about you, Aegis?"
"I share the same reasoning as Reglam."
Knocked Out. It was when the blessing of HP barrier was worn off, and you're completely defenceless against monster's attack. If one failed in playing their cards right, this was the horror one would be waiting for. This fear had prevented the steps of many from treading forward. But it appeared my worry was unnecessary against the two.
The party was major vanguard today, with two of them having zilch resistance against «Instant Death», but they probably noticed that, and assertively nodded. No problem from their end, too.
Since everyone was prepared, I had Aegis equipped «Thunder Javelin» and from there, we made a straight rush for the last floor.
