Reincarnated in the game world ~ A gamer's beginning to [Dungeon job hunting recommendation]-Chapter 639Vol. 11 - - Zephyr-sensei’s second term lecture!
It was Friday, and also the day of elective classes. And today would mark the first elective class of the second term.
Well, given that it was already the 3rd Friday of the month, it certainly was a bit of a late start. But. it was kind of inevitable. First week's Friday was spent on deciding on if students would like to continue their current classes, or try out other courses. Second week spent on inter-class competition.
With my conversation with Dean, I had also decided to continue my lectures. The subject was the same, «Training Manual». Apparently, the academy would be leading a mass-scale «Job Transfer» at the end of the month. After that, we would usher into the test period, and class change was expected to happen 10 days after mass job transfer.
In the new system, due to scarcity of «Basic Job Transfer Ticket», «Job Transfer» would only be allowed for students with high-ranking jobs in their manifest. However, following the words of Director Mistin, that "researcher of entire world have all been pumped by our earlier achivements, and more and more conditions for high-ranking jobs has been becoming clear', it appeared there were quite a good number of students with «High-ranking Job» already in the list. We would soon see the rise of many strong individuals. I was pretty excited frankly!
Oh, and the academy had already began to accept the application for «Job Transfer System». Apparently, there already were plenty of aspirants eager to go through the process. And out of them, the academy had already seen at least 1000 students with high-ranking jobs in their manifest. I couldn't even imagine the count when it would actually be the day for job transfer.
With the «Job Transfer», the first problem to tackle was obviously learning the ropes of their new job, starting from zero. I had thought my training manual was pretty widespread already in the first term, but it appeared many were still unaware, burdened with confusion. It would be awful, and a waste of resources, if they still remain weak after having a new chance.
The students were here to fulfil their dreams after all. This was why «Job Transfer» aspirants were now rushing to learn about the training manual as much as possible. And that's where I came in. And why I, who was supposed to have finished his first term, was called again.
"Zephyr-sama, everything is set."
"Thank you, Celestine. ......Well, It might not be my play to say, are you sure you should be with me here again for another term? I mean, my lecturers are more or less going to reiterate the details I had taught in the first term."
"It's fine with me. I am Brave's attendant first."
"O-oh. Then, I would be relying on your help this term again, Celestine."
"Likewise, I am glad to be your assistance."
At the end of conversation, Celestine curtly bowed.
As was the conversation, Celestine would be acting as my assistant for the second term, again. ...Wait a minute. I was sure I didn't tell him that I was continuing my lecturers, though. Where did he learn that?
"Alright Let's enter then."
I raised my voice to fill in some enthusiasm, and exited the anteroom.
"Kyaa!"
"Whoa!?"
It happened too sudden, and too fast. I bumped into a kid. Due to our differences, the kid staggered backward, seemingly about to fall back anytime. But—
—My «Intuition» and «Super-Reflex» flared regardless of my intention.
My hands reflexively reached out for the kid, circling behind their back. ...Somehow, it turned into the pose where I was now holding that kid into my arms, like a princess carry. NOW, hold the pitchforks there. It was a kid, so I was safe!
"Phew, that was a close disaster. I should have looked better. Are you alright?"
"Eh? Wait... huh? Is this heaven? When was I beckoned to heaven?"
It appeared the bump led the kid to be in awful shock.
"You're still alive, Onee-sama."
"Hmm?"
"Eh?"
At the abrupt voice, both me, and the kid in my arm, traced the direction of voice. My gaze found another kid, sharing exactly similar features as the kid in my arm.
She shouldn't be older than 10. Sharing blonde hair and blue eyes, the child was a personification of beauty. Honestly, if the next moment she says she was some kind of princess from a fairytale, I would unhesitatingly believe in it. She wore the academy's uniform, so I guess she was a student here. Appearance-wise, she was much younger than Mari-senpai, but some features dictate she wasn't a «Child-ling» like Lulu. Hmm, is she...
"How long do you play to stay there, Onee-sama? Please get down immediately. You're being bothered to other."
".........Hey, wait a minute. I am just on a good part, so stay quiet for—awww, it hurts!"
That was a splendid handchop.
It seemed the girls were siblings. Twin, I presume given their cut-from-same-cloth-appearance.
The, seemingly, younger sister looked at her older sister with half-closed eyes, and this finally brought the young girl in my arms out of shock. Her eyes darted around, affirming the current situation... For a moment, she went stiff like a wooden piece as she replied to her younger sister, but the deadly chop from the younger sister cut short all her words.
"Please excuse my elder sister's rudeness, professor. If you like, you can also toss her into the trash bin."
"Wow, you just hurt the feelings of your elder sister, Phina-chan!"
"Professor?"
"Zephyr-sama, the two ladies are students of your «Training Manual» lectures."
"My students?!"
*Bing-bong bing-bong*
I had just gently lowered the 'elder sister' from my arms when I heard the chime ringing.
"Ah, we must hurry up, elder sister. We would be late."
"Hey, wait for me, Phina-chan!"
Flustered by the chim, the younger sister expressed her gratitude, and broke into a sprint for the classroom... leaving behind her elder sister. The elder sister, too, copied in curtsy and chased after her. Quite a pair of boisterous siblings they're, eh?
"It seems we have quite some interesting students in our new terms."
I murmured as I got up, straightening my clothes.
I had only heard, but there was a complete change in the lineup of students in my lecture. Apparently, the students who had attended my lectures in the first term wouldn't be attending.
I supposed so. The students back then had just freshly taken steps in the academy, and were inexperienced in their jobs. Meanwhile, the students this term were seniors selected for «Job Transfer System».
Also, supposedly, a group of students protested against the notion so hard I feared they would start spilling tears of blood. Though it didn't come to pass. But I was honestly glad to see the students were so eager for my lectures. I had gained newfound confidence!
I wasn't sure how it would be for senior students to learn the basics again, making me hesitant. The love from previous students lessened that pressure. Wait a minute... was I truly feeling pressure? ...Maybe it was just the construct of my mind.
"Heya, everyone. Good morning!"
The door opened—it was Celestine—and I entered the classroom. I confidently took my steps. Shortly, murmurs broke out among students, and I even seemed to have heard some squeals.
"He's here!"
"It's really him!"
"Kyaa! I think our eyes just met!" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Ah, heaven has bestowed us the best luck at the best time!"
There sure were quite a lot of girls. ...Was it just me? Oh well, it was normal for girls to easily acquire strong jobs in the game, of course it would be natural for the majority to be girls... of course, right?
Ah, I also caught the glimpse of siblings from earlier.
"I barely managed my entry through the lottery."
"Hmm, so they're the so-called Brave Fan's Union?"
"Just how did they get through?"
Oh, I spotted some boys too. For some reason, they're huddled together in a corner of the classroom at the back. Uh-huh, boy's luck was seriously something.
"We sure have a crowd. What's the count of students attending right now?"
The classroom was the same as the first term. So, the number of seats should be the same, but I couldn't help but feel they're more than that.
"There had been too many applications, so the chairs and desk et cetera were prepared in haste. As of now, there are 412 students."
"That's a hundred more than before."
I was spot on. I believe the count last term was approximately 300. ...Recalling back, I think I had felt the same doubt back then, too. Just how were they increasing?
I took another close look, and then I spotted a situation—all seats were jam packed. In fact, they even seemed to have occupied the space meant for bags.
"The bags and other study materials were taking up quite a lot of space, so they have been moved to lockers. Students have been urged to attend with notebook and stationary materials only. Extra chairs are placed in the space of bags."
As if he had read my mind, Celestine provided a pin-point explanation.
I see. Dean... he had been taking this quite seriously. There were bigger classrooms available, too, but then it hadn't been easy to have my voice reach everyone. Hence, we made an attempt to make as much space available.
Within our discussions, I climbed up to the podium. And, the murmur quietened down when I faced their direction.
"Now then, let's begin our first lecture over «Training Manual»! Before that, let me introduce myself, I am Zephyr from the guild «Eden». I hope to make these lectures as fruitful as possible."
I kickstarted the lecture with a self-introduction.
Following the suit, Celestine introduced himself. With that began my first lecture of the second term.
Overall, the details were mostly the same as what I had taught. The basics of the basic training manual. The finish line might be different for many people, but the starting line was often the same. It also didn't seem like we would be accepting anymore students between lectures. Maybe I could divulge some of the details about advanced jobs?
"Great, then let's begin with the fundamentals of «Training Manual». How you should take your first step—"
