Chapter 59: Chapter 59

The chirping of birds and the rising sun slowly awaken me from my slumber, and as I look up towards the rays of light passing by the cracks on the wooden window I’m left to be confused for a few seconds for finding myself in a strange place, but soon the memories of the past couple of days come back to me and makes me remember just where I am.

Enlightened Sun Bearers sect quarters.

Yesterday night I had been tested out, and with a great smile on his face Master Jiang Min set me off to rest, saying that we could proceed with the formalities on the next day after I’d rested up and he finishes his business around.

I cover myself with my wings, but already awaken by the light my eyes do not go back to closing up, and with the increasing harmonic symphony of the forest waking up around me I finally have some time to breathe and put my thoughts in place for things have happened way to fast for me to catch up.

I am glad to have managed to become a cultivator and explore its powerful wonders, but on the contrary of the other disciples I was brought back by master himself, and basically did not have the chance of choosing one for myself since I did not go through the annual test for new young cultivators, and it would have been very impolite to disregard the one that brought me here in the first place too.

In the end things worked out somehow, I think, especially since, for been a magical creature I grown quicker than humans, and as such looked to be older than what I really am, and at the age to become a disciple in their books.

All goes well when it ends well I supposed...

I’ve not had contact with the cultivars practice yet, know a few things here and here only and had a good understanding of just how powerful one could turn out to be, and as much as braving with swords around as the martial artists from the Stunning Golden Tiger sect sounded appealing to most, with my low HP base I knew that I was not up to have scratches all over myself all the time.

And as before I still think that learning about barriers and shields is a must, using my overbearing MP base to its utmost.

Just thinking about it fuels the excitement within me, and as much as I was in great need of rest especially since I had yet to recover from my old wounds as I made new ones, the mere glint that I had of the powerful wonders that waited for me makes me grit the pain and tiredness away and sit up on the bed while lazily glancing around my new room.

It is a simple room with a few luxuries given to the inner disciples, being slightly larger and closer to the central halls at the peak of the mountain, and that on itself gave us a higher prestige among the other disciples, but for me the greatest advantage is the fact that each inner disciple has their own room and as such do not need to share with others, and with my condition of non-human creature that barely gave me enough time and leverage to stretch my wings up with my arms and twist my tail around as they soon would have to stay still for a very long time under my vests to be kept hidden from others.

And yet it is all a small price to pay in face of the knowledge I was about to receive.

I pitter patter my way around the room with nothing but a few average pieces of furniture inside as well as my book and the tiger plushy on the side to break the monotony away and give it a small personalized look to it.

If it was my home I would have it filled with plants and books, but since this place was temporary as long as I could hide my identity from them then I avoid getting fond of it, looking at it all with a bit of detachment and disinterest.

Only after taking care of my long white hair’s knots and brushing any wrinkled my abused clothing may have I finally cover my wings with the outer robe as my tail was already inside the inner one and carefully place the veil over my face, clamping the lock at the back of my head with a lot of care as not to fall down by mistake.

Finally I’m as ready as I can be to brave the world outside once more.

Last night, beyond being tired as hell, I did not have the time nor enough lighting to see the sect at its bursting beauty, but now even the veil in front of my eyes could not contain the vibrating full of energy this ancient landscape has and unfolds fully before me.

And that is a feast for the eyes to see, and warm the heart like the soft touch of sunlight rays. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

At the main center part of the sect is where, surrounded by this energy and natural forest, stood the most important buildings where the masters discussed their business at the central hall surrounded my other smaller ones among the greenery, and on contrary to most places here they seem to add beauty to the nature as they complemented each other, with light colors and sideways opening doors, all around being intertwined by cobblestone paths and wrap around verandas that, too, had small wooden bridges linking each building pass rivers and small crevices, overcoming the not plain field that one would have at the on top of a mountain, filling the landscape in many levels and having many stairs too as the result to that.

Beyond the buildings themselves and the portion of flowery trees blooming around there is still the small rivers here and there where one could catch a glimpse of colorful fish swimming by, and yet looking closely there are many more details to take him, such as the hidden by greenery statues full of mold that hold the age that such place has, the worn out steps used it every day by the disciples, the filled with flowers trees casting their reflection on the water where the path continues with some stones zigzagging their way to the other side.

And yet as if not having enough of this beauty as is there is still a lake at the very center of it all where the rivers connect reflecting and duplicating the beauty of it all on its clear waters, attracting singing birds to add to the rivers and woods symphony.

I remember that the main hall where the students should go to have their lectures stood up front in, supported above the lake water by red pillars surrounded by koi fish, so without noticing anyone around I’m left to find my way on my own, one step at a time.
